You can believe that Elijah Muhammad was a leader, but to believe that he was a messenger of God is absolutely against Islam. After the prophet Muhammad there can be no other prophet. "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things" (Quran 33:40). After the prophet Muhammad there can be no other prophet. The Quran taught that God is the creator of all things, the NOI taught that Yakub created the white race. The nation has little to nothing to do with islam because of which elijah's own son admitted that his father was mistaken because of which he converted to sunni islam along with muhammad ali and malcolm x. I suggest brother you read the quran and i pray you find the path of God. Elijah muhammad was a great social reformer as his successor the honorable louis farrakhan is. But their social reforms mustn't be taken as a sign of prophetism. Farrakhan himself is also moving towards mainstream Islam. If Elijah's own son disavowed his teaching, then that should say a lot about it. You have a pure heart and you are in search of the truth, and you truly want to believe in Islam, the religion of righteousness, that is why brother you must read the quran and accept that there is only one God, and Muhammad is his last prophet and messenger. He is the leader of all Muslims, of all believers, and all the believers are brothers, regardless of race ethnicity nationality.
