Drone registration is now active in the UK gotta say it was a pretty painless process. flyer id valid for 3 years. Operator id valid for 12 months at a cost of £9 you should do a video Steve 👍👍👍
You know. I was just thinking. (. SCARY ). With the release of the mavic mini. It might really help your channel. People who would not normally get into drones. Will probably look 👀 at this in a different light. And when you want to learn about different drones. Who else but captain drone.
I can't get mine to work right. When I download the trip data to their map program, it only shows the start point. In the text boxes, the End Time is always the same as the Start Time, but the Distance box shows the correct trip distance. I've tried everything I can think of. I even bought another one, but it does exactly the same thing. Very FRUSTRATED at this point! Any ideas, anybody?
I have motorcycle GPS devices that do the same, so I use those for that purpose. I only use this unit to test the speed of RC products. I have not tried the map function.
Suggestion for a video...Brand new drone owners utilizing apps like Kittyhawk or B4UFLY. to check for clearance to fly so to speak...basic checks before just going out and flying recreationally. While this seems obvious, there are areas covered up by FAA NFS maps on some apps like Drone Buddy, while others show it clear in the same area. Very confusing to us Nubes admittedly trying to do the right thing. Thanks.
I have set the clock for 24 hour. It went back to 12 hour by itself. Contacted SKYRC and asked about it. They said to set it according to the computer while using the 24 hour format. Okay, I did that. The clock on the GSM-015 switched over to 24 hour clock. Now, however, for no reason it has switched back to 12 hour clock. Now I can't get it back to 24 hour format. Puzzling.
The clock should be controlled by the GPS reception. Perhaps when your unit is turned off it just loses the power needed to remember what the settings you applied were.
Have you actually tried the software? I've got the GSM-010 and it no longer works with Google maps. (Well, it does work, kind of, but I get error messages all the time.)
Great gadget, thanks!, but I tought that it was a GPS gadget to find losts drones, I don't think that you got a review on such a thing that can be really really usefull when you lost a drone in rough terrrain... may be it could be a nice review to do during winter :) I already have a bluetooth device that work, but need to get under 50 feets to work, so looking for something more usefull, good and not very expensive :) Have a nice day!

Only thing that matters is the voltage... must be the same. The larger the battery at the same voltage usually adds no benefit because of the extra weight.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 True if it's the same quality :D.....I have a 2x battery pack for a drone that's 14.8 V and 3kg and 18000 mAh :)).....and the guys at the university retrofitted a li-po not for dronning at 14.8 V at 2.8 kg but at 72000mAh..... The MAVIC MINI has been well reviewed already. Since DJI is rather slow in sending mine out, you'll have to rely on other reviewers. Eventually I'll have a video about the Mavic Mini. Please note that I am not a NEWS Station where one has to be First with reviews of products. This is a Hobby Channel which is why it is real life and not a DJI sponsored channel.
I appreciate your quick reply, and also , being a hobbiest, your time in making these reviews available to all. You must also know that your views are well received and valued. You have shown to a lot of us your dedication to showing what products are available and how they stand up in the real world, which, has shown to be quite a distance from what the manufacturer wants us to believe(hype). You give a very succinct approach to your presentation so not to waste anyone’s time, you certainly don’t waste mine, keep up the good work.
I have to say I am having major problems with this unit. The app running on the computer app just crashes when I press the config button the computer screen and the developer are no help - all they say is upload the new update - I have done that and no difference and now they say they will look at the issue on a few weeks - would not recommend this unit to anyone
If you wish to use a GPS device for downloading your trips on a computer, you'll need to spend much more (remember, this is massively inexpensive compared to what is on the market... you get what you pay for). The people who buy this device mostly only use it for the RC hobby of displaying max speed. A more expensive GARMIN device will meet your needs perfectly.
