I was curious because this book is mentioned in the Jeffrey Archer book.. Prison Diaries. 📚

Is there a way I can listen to this online in the US? I started to listen to one on RUclips, but it just repeated the first 34:14 minutes. That was quite disappointing.

You should read the david niven bio by robert Morley's son Sheridan Morley called the other side of the moon....
Especially if you've already read the moons a baloon.....
It follows the same timeline as TMAB but without the Niven spin and embellishment that he was prone to do when telling his tales....
His son said in the forward of this book that if you wanted to know the real David Niven you wouldnt see it in TMAB....
I thoroughly enjoyed reading TMAB and thought what a popular guy he was but always found it strange that everyone he met (seemingly coincidentally) was the most successful or famous person of whatever relationship he made.... His first job in America was for the most famous speakeasy in New York....
His first encounter in hollywood, when he was an extra, was getting a ride in Douglas Fairbanks Jr's car.....
The politicians he met were Winston Churchill.... the first person on his boat when he was a deckhand was Clark Gable.... He didnt seem to meet any mediocre people in his life...???
Turns out that these extra famous people were targeted by him as a way to get up the ladder.... one friend even commenting that when he was chatting to you you felt he was looking over your shoulder for someone that could be beneficial to him....????
Anyways both are a good read but Morley's book could change your perception of Niven as a nice guy....?

I wonder if he was really in the good graces of Noel Coward, since he is quoted by Sheridan as saying he had those people he liked and those he didn’t & to start to write about those he didn’t, it would sell better or more copies...something like that.
Odd that those who sent the biggest wreath of flowers to Niven’s funeral were regular folk. I read he was in Sir Roger Moore’s autobiography and it had said how terrible Jyordis was to him when he was dying. Thank you.

He made such a big thing about his and Errol Flynn's friendship yet in Flynn's autobiography Niven was only mentioned in a few lines.....
