The most messed up thing here is soul rekt both of these tracks(wouldnt have beaten almost anyone), but just caught slim boogie on one of his otherworldly days. Great battle here, the final is pretty good as well.
I give slim both rounds. He's just too technically advanced and clean and musical. He PLAYS with music. Soul is no joke at all tho made slim work for it
Slims 2nd round is a technical goldmine. There is NO debate on who won this. He is a Rube Goldberg machine and that round is textbook animation in every way.
I asked slim if he thought of himself as a Rube Goldberg machine in person. Slim did not know what I meant until I explained it in further detail but he said he does not think of himself as one at all. He actually said he thinks of himself as a collage of paintings. What he means by this is that a picture will be a final pose and every movement is the timeline to the final frame. Once the final frame is complete, another frame will be layered on top. I though in more detail that he was just trying to make one thing hit one thing to hit another (mechanical mindset) but it is actually more broad than that. It is more organic and he will pick a different “painting style” to match the music which he will then use to paint his collage. This may be one of his broad concepts that he uses quite often but I don’t think that is the case. I just wanted to share what I learned from him because I was actually wrong assuming he was a Rube Goldberg machine.
huge fan of both. Excellent rounds from both dancers. But slims creativity in the second song made me feel bad for soul, who would have beaten most everyone in this tournament with these two tracks. Slim is the definition here behind "next level"
if soul was very good especially the 1st round, for me it should have won round 1, after they tied it already in the 2nd round if I think it was clear for slim.
Aside from all of this 'who won' business, it was a great battle and i always love to see respectful dancers. complimenting eachothers moves etc. Slim always seems very gracious.
+Beat Wave no. I thot Soul took it but if you battle someone like slim boogie then you have to win convincingly like by a country mile to get the vote from the judges.
+Ryan Sullivan I honestly dont think it was that though it's very common for things like that to happen subconsciously.. even in smaller events when someone less known is battling the hometown hero. but in my opinion battles like this come down the the judges preference... are they going to vote for the person who was clear or maybe the person who took a bigger risk but wasnt as clean or numerous other preferences.
Slim Boogie is a phenomenon & I used to watch his events always, a one of a kind animator, but one of the new generations who came as hard as steel is Soul he is crazy in musicology like Slim Boogie in old times, of course that should be a win for Soul, please watch Soul vs Abnormal in Jack of All Trades, a crazy final between 2 kings

1st round could go either way but a tie ill take that. 2nd round Slim took that cleanly. Was not close to judge the 2nd round.
