Gotta tell ya, I looked all over youtube using various keywords to find this video of yours, but once I did, it was great to see. A beautiful collection of traditional blades.
the first knife needs to be given to a boy by his grandpa. When I was about 8 years old, my grandpa bought me a pocketknife and I still own it. It works fine. I consider that a much better gift than a computer game. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Germany
I'm doing that with all my niece's and Nephew's giving them a either a pocket knife or full tang. When I gave my 8 year old nephew his first pocket knife he thought it was the coolest thing. Of course I got permission from his mother. She didn't know if he should have one. We ran all the safety and rules. 4 year's later it's just a tool in his pocket he is used to having a pocket knife on him. I carried a pocket knife on me in Elementary school think the rules we couldn't have one but I carried mines anyways this was in the 70s I was 8-9 year's old carried one ever since.

Thank you for sharing your knife and axe collection that's a really nice collection of knifes and axes. I think the sheeve that come with the knives should be just as intrastine as the knife because that is the first thing people will notice when the knife is still in the sheeve. I'm a knife guy myself. I'm very surprised at the fact that people don't carry pocket knives for the odd job anymore. Growing up, if you DIDN'T carry a pocket knife people wondered what's wrong with you. But today if you do carry one people look at you like you're a criminal of some kind. Just caught on to your website will I was looking for handmade Bowies, from what I can tell you are definitely the real kind of guy to ask about mountain man stuff. If I ever have any questions I asked you about them soon?
I love Bowie knives, but by all accounts, the original was not a clip point. In an interview with a newspaper, Rezin Bowie said the original knife had a nine inch lone, perfectly straight blade. Jim Bowie had nine copies of his knife made by a company in Sheffield, England, and records show that they, too, had a nine inch long, perfectly straight blade. The clip point came into Texas by way of Mexico, and soon became the standard for Bowie knives across the country, but this was well after Bowie's death at the Alamo. But tell someone you want a Bowie knife made that has a nine inch long, perfectly straight blade, and they act like you're crazy. Anyway, you have one of the most beautiful collection of knives I've seen. Just fantastic.
You are absolutely correct. The so-called fighting knives of that day were more like butcher knives. Some of them quite fancy looking but your knives. But most every one recognizes the clip Point as a Bowie. I've always loved the shape of the clip point knives but I have come to really appreciate the more standard Full Tang Bushcraft/Long Hunte/mountain man straight spine and drop point knives. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing you're knowledge. God bless!

I would have to say the Jeff white bush knife because of its simplicity and the fact that it is a convex grind and it can really take a beating. It's got that good Sharp 90° spine and it holds an incredibly sharp edge. Secondly I would probably go with the long Hunter Style Cliff Fellrath knife. It's about a 6 and 1/4 inch blade and it's made out of 5160 spring steel which is going to hold up to abuse really well. That would be the one that has the antler scales on it and the brute de Forge finger guard area. Thanks again for stopping in and thanks for a great question!

@@stevebuckskinner5482 thank you so much for the help. I was beginning to think it might have been a German-made one. Also thank you for responding and sharing the links.
Hello MR Steve...I was wondering if that first knife you picked up at the consignment store has an F or backward facing F or a fancy cursive F carved in the end or a name carved in the blade....it looks like my dad's knives.... A. FERGUSON or Alton Ferguson should be on the blade in a rough carved writting.... if it is one of his I would like to ask you some questions about it ....thank you
I'm out Trucking right now but when I get home I will take a better look at it. Are you talking about the one that has the crown stag handle on it?
Yes that one is the one, thank you for looking
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this.
The knife you were inquiring about has an M poorly scribed on the blade with the numbers 0312.
Love the Buck skin shirt
