Have to agree the moment Batman kills is when you fail to understand what Batman IS. That story should have involved them sending a psychic to prepare the way so they know what defences Earth has. They learn of the Justice League and then about Batman and then about his rogue's gallery. THAT'S the part when they decide to avoid the solar system entirely as the gathered heroes and villains on that world make anyone even Darkseid think twice! And please note Darkseid HAS invaded Earth on several occasions and left in defeat and you think any would be invader WOULDN'T notice that?!
Another big problem - canon Batman has a very very rigid no kill rule. He will, and has in at least one storyline allowed the world to fall to preserve that rule. See injustice story line.

This story is so anti-Batman? I got to laugh as this story placing a man who goes above and beyond to NOT use lethal force? This Batman might as well be a Terminator of same said movie. It would fundamentally CHANGE his character into something he IS NOT and would never be even at our survival's sake. Principles don't change as it is what makes them principles.
And of course, only the Batman can beat the universe at its own game.
