It makes total sense to me- as a nurse I often encountered such individuals who could be so entrenched in their victim identity that they were willing to compromise their very health!
i was one, i was a spoilt kid, feeding off the goodness of my parents, ignorant horrible child, yes, that was me. i recognised my condition after awakening my god given conscious, addicted to weed and pills, slowly sucking energy from whoever! then i awoke... very very unpleasant, a very dark period, truly learning the hard way. i was aware and shocked on my past. i removed my whole from my past and stepped into the now! that was about 45 years ago, i can understand and recognise vampire behaviours when i see them. i found my soul mate 45 years ago that helped me to become the man i became, i have 4 grown up children and 7 grandchildren, i became a quite observer, conscious of my behaviours:)) i truly repented of all my misdeeds and sins!!!

What was the turning point for you? I believe the suffering, when we can’t stand it any longer, the awakening begins to happen. ..yet who knows what is enough suffering….some stay in it for a life time..while others, like us..begin to be set free…this is a fascinating subject for me…
@@mariemonn8912 i arrogantly started a fist fight, i was wrong, i lost badly, all my so called friends, gloated at my defeat, that was it for me, i awoke i suffered, my arrogance and pride died, it humbled me, i realised my errors, i changed, i separated from the crowd i became a loner. i got a job, i learned the world of work. i changed, the turning point for me was when i saw my mums reaction when she saw me battered and bruised, i truly felt sorry for her. there is a saying "prince of strife, will become the prince of peace" that is me;:) i went on to live happy ever after, happily married, family man, and hard worker whenever i want;!!
The most practical thing you can do is walk away , and create your own narrative to find your self/authenticity again

I used to work at a job where my energy was drained on a daily basis but since leaving that environment I no longer feel drained. I only allow certain people in my life who are positive and align with my spirit.

I saw one such video 4 yrs ago, but now after further research i found out, all people have RNA in them, and by knowing and understanding it, we could accept all, else better go off alone and meditate somewhere far from the maddening crowd, if we want to live in a society we have to accept the up and down of the society.
You’ve just described my ex mother in law! Sadly I couldn’t confront her to stop as you suggested “bringing her behavior to light “ until our divorce, she died a week after I signed the divorce papers. No more my energy for her to feed on!

If one is an energy vampire, and my solitary life perhaps indicates I am not one, how does one undo that trait? As for me, I had a great abundance of energy as a child into late adulthood. Then I married a man who provided me with the worst decades of my life.

@@carey5355 yeah, I agree with you. Have read that knowledge. Details about it tho: I stopped living with him four years into the twenty five year marriage. An opportunity to live in two different places. I choose to remain while he moved. Then I was free to put my barefoot foot back in the dirt, … the soft, tilled, perfectly loam, which was my garden.
we let my son decide which school, which friends he wanted to be near. So many years were spent in my gardens. Mostly living in a nun’s life, I was able to avoid him.
