Quedó francamente impresionado cómo pudiste recrear la tonalidad de la piel humana con tan escasos elementos y con tanta facilidad, eso me pareció de una habilidad virtuosa, te felicito. Yo vine porque quería aprender un poco para armar una buena grisalla, saber cómo tú la inicias, cómo la degradas, qué proporción empleas, etc. En la pintura actual, en mi opinión, el cuadro se veía mejor con ese blanco que añadiste al lado derecho del cuello y de la cara. Aunque después fuiste coloreando el color de la piel y esa fue la parte que más me gustó.

Me enseñaron a utilizar el verde vejiga también como veladuras. Ya que en la piel tenemos partes grises con tendencia a los violetas o verdes. Y ese color ayuda a darle un poco más de realismo. Pero creo que antiguamemte no se utilizaba mucho ese verde.

I have a few questions :) What I don't understand is how oil sticks to acryl? Wouldn't it chip away eventually? Also what did you use when marking with white before correcting the painting? Was this technique always used in classical portrait paintings? Did they also use it when painting a landscape for example? Love your videos! Thank you :)
Oil sticks to the ground by a mechanical bond and by absorbtion. Acrylic is not as absorbant as Rabbit Skin Glue, but it is more abosrbant than an Oil Primer. The problem with Rabbit Skin Glue is that it cracks, most oil paint cracks are caused by Rabbit Skin Glue. Oil sticks better to acrylic than to another oil layer, that's why most painters sand in between layers of oil with a very fine sandpaper or with very fine steel wool. Of course it is better to use Matte Acrylics than Glossy, the tooth will allow the oil grip better. Here is a more extensive article on the subject. justpaint.org/using-oils-with-acrylics/ I used a chalk to correct the drawing. As you can see in Leonardo's or Rembrandt's unfinished paintings this technique was used for everything including landscapes. We are talking XVI century paintings. More modern landscape artists like John Constable painted directly with color without a grisaille.

La grisalla muy bien hecha , pero si te fijas devaluaste ese trabajo desde la aplicación del ocre, le diste demasiada calidez al cuadro , y por eso no termina de funcionar , deberías haber aplicado ese primer ocre con blanco titanio, piensa que en estos retratos claro oscuros buscamos rostros aporcelados y brillantes en contraposición al fondo. Sigue trabajando. Muy buen canal divulgativo.

Yes, white ruins the glazing effect. When white is added to a glaze it's called Scumble. They are both thin layers, one with transparent pigments and the other with opaque. Glazing has better results when put over a bright color, so Scumbling is used to add a layer of lightness, because if you work only adding glaze after glaze your colors will get very dark. I hope that solves the question.

It called glacis. It is super easy if you work with acrylics.
