Recently moved to New York with two of my childhood best friends from Los Angeles, (& yes we’re huge fans of ODDVICE and was so excited when we heard you two toying with the idea on the podcast). I definitely see you two thriving out here and when you asked about specific locations, have you two checked out Williamsburg, Brooklyn? You two fit the vibe of that area. I hope it’s possible for you two as I can see how much you want to make it so! Sending love & manifesting y’all in new york so we can bump into each other and grab a drink! 🧡
Ugh Kristen you are my comfort person. Every time I watch your videos or listen to your podcast it’s so relaxing. Like I’m just hanging out with a friend and it’s casually comfortable
Everytime I see you post I get so happy! Also, I moved cross country alone at a young age and it was the BEST decision ever. It broadens your outlook on everything and it’s truly an amazing experience! I hope you and Alex get to do it together! Love y’all and the podcast💜
Girl please send a trip to Boston while you’re over here! I came here for grad school and I absolutely love it. I’m originally from the east bay too & I feel like you would 100% love Boston like I do. So happy for you!
omg yesssssssss NYC is calling your name and I love that for you!!! Brooklyn has probably been my favorite place to live, it was more "my vibe". Living in the city is amazing but Brooklyn just felt like home to me, plus it's so close to the city that you can go back and forth even daily if you want with ease. Just from watching you for years I feel like you would thrive in Brooklyn or if you're leaning more toward the city than I def. see SOHO for you!! Sending all my love and positive vibes your way, this is going to be an amazing adventure for you 🖤
I moved from Louisiana to Michigan and it was a long 24 hours across country but we tried to make it fun with pit stops along the way to see friends/family! So if y’all drive and have any friends/family along the way then i suggest planning for little stops/visits!
I totally get what you're saying about pushing cooking away. My passion is music. Making music, singing, listening to it, everything about it and it's the way I feel more connected with myself, my feelings, and my spirituality. I've realized that I push it away when I'm closed off and don't want to acknowledge my feelings or whatever I'm going through even subconsciously.
Hi Kristen! I'm 24 and have been watching you for a couple years now! So I live in New York and attend John Jay as a grad student currently, I am not a psychologist by any means but I do have my BA in forensic psychology and I am set to graduate with my masters in forensic psychology as well next semester! I think you may avoid doing tasks that fulfill your passion with cooking even though you love it so much due to the fact of just how much you love it; you have so much love for it and pride for it within yourself that you lowkey avoid it at times in fear of letting yourself or others down due to the intense amount of love you have surrounding this one thing. It can become this tasks that although you have so much love for it, with love comes pressure to perfect it. It's natural in my opinion and makes perfect sense when you think about it! Also, although I live in Long Island, I was born and raised in Queens for part of my younger life and also commute often to the city for school as well as just going all the time for fun and staying in hotels overnight, I think you and Alex would fit in well in Greenwich Village in the city or Williamsburg Brooklyn:)!
I can see it now. You and Alex would absolutely flourish in NY! Oddvice will be poppin! Link would love the walks in the parks! Mama, THE FOODDD and culture would take your channel next level. Sending good vibes and wishing you the best! 💋
I wouldn't suggest soho, or the village or neighborhoods like that just because it's unnecessarily expensive but also definitely don't go to poc neighborhoods to not help with gentrification 😅. idk what neighborhoods would fit you best but maybe midtown, battery park, Murray hill, upper west side. Those are just some "different" neighborhoods that everyone doesn't move too🤷🏾♀️
so I've had like a few low low times these past few weeks and honest to god Kristen you just made me get up and bake sugar cookies while listening to you so thank you for that, also GOSH I totally see you and Alex in New York with the artsy people and the cold winters can't wait for that and congratulations :D ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The way you feel about New York is the way I felt when I left from our trip in Salem, Mass. It literally felt like home there! Our trip was in 2019 and I still think about it and how much I miss it!
kristen this is so exciting!! i’m doing the exact same thing, moving to nyc after the holidays and i told everyone before it was official to hold myself accountable lol can’t wait for our new adventure!
I actually just moved to NYC a month or so ago 😆 you talking about New York, is exactly how I felt, so I knew I had to move here. I think you and Alex would like the UES or somewhere in Brooklyn. Soho and East Village are cool, but sooo many people move there, and tourists also are always around. So excited for you guys!!! Can’t wait to see you thrive 🥰
I am beyond proud of you and Alex big move and change and well needed! And with you not wanting to cook as much could that be a form of imposter syndrome ya's talked about? I really needed that podcast! so thanks for that! Lol can't wait for more podcasts and vlogs coming from New York! Wine drunks are the best! ❤️ Love you and thank you for being your full genuine stunning self! ❤️ ps the pull you have to move is your soul telling you it the right move!
i just saw you pop up in my subscriptions and i decided to see what you were up to. So glad youre doing well and i cant believe i havent checked up with you sooner. you have such a welcoming presence, THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME.
little late with watching but I felt the need to comment because I’m excited you’re moving to nyc and it gives me hope that I’ll see you because I’m from NJ but going to NYU!!!
Damn I have never been so calm yet so excited at the same time 😍😍😍 your cooking just melts my worries away and also I'm excited to see you live your best life in New York
How does Liana feel about y’all moving? I say this because I care 🥺 I moved away from my housemates/best friends a couple months ago while they moved together to San Francisco. I miss them a lot and it’s a little tough on the mental to see them all enjoying each other’s company all the time and experiencing new things together. Of course I’m really happy for them but there’s this jealous feeling that’s hard to shake when you know you’re bound to miss out on stuff. Just something to be open about, I think maintaining communication about it is good.
I think about it all the time. were gonna miss her and bri and all our homies in california but we all have a bond that will never be broken 💜 they are so excited for us!! and this also opens a new chapter for liana and i'm so excited for her too :)
We missed you so much!!!! Literally was at work when you posted. Told my boss I needed to use the “restroom” just to start the video 🥺😂 love you Kristen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love, love, Love! to cook too. But I totally know where you're coming from. For me its often an energy thing. Cuz cooking is a lot of work too! And it's an art form that typically, you're going from start to finish. You dont typically make a meal/dish half way, ya know? So for me the idea of starting the process can be daunting, it actually happens to me a lot. But! I'll do it anyway and usually once I'm in it, then I'm feelin it. You're not alone tho!
my real name is Leanna and it is never not confusing to me when you reference your Liana (i hope I spelled her name correctly... know mine is always a challenge).
@@KristenMcAtee I got chu girl! Good luck on migrating to NY within the year. My s/o and I have been living in the suburbs of Chicago for the last 10 years and next year we're finally making the big move to dt chicago and we couldn't be more excited!
My comfort person! I’ve missed you!! So happy to see you happy and planning a cool new chapter of your life! ❤️❤️
