Wait a minute... 0:04 is Far Horizons. /watch?v=Ga8KbMcUfm8 Age of Opression starts at 0:55 /watch?v=B9yR7S9whIM Ancient Stones is not even in this video. /watch?v=EUS_VMn-4Uc
DigitalVirusX2 That is definitely ancient stones. I just double checked. it's the village music. If you look at Jurjen's link for ancient stones, it's the SAME SONG as Ancient Stones this guy (Mark Fowler) plays in the video. It's just a little remixed but it's definitely the same song. Yes, Mark plays an intro that is not part of Age of Oppression, but after that he plays Age of Oppression and then Ancient Stones.
These songs remind me so much of the time when I heard them the first time, when I started playing Skyrim… Everything was so new and mystic, it was just a whole new world… now, after 1000 hours of gaming, that magic is lost… :(
MMC MultiMediaChannel I really hope the next part will cause those feelings again… problem is, Skyrim was the first real computer game that I played, apart from Minecraft and Terraria, which are pixley sandbox games… So maybe it was also for that reason...
I played Minecraft so Long so i startet to Play skyrim and it's my Favorite Game. I think ist the best Game ever Made 😄 But ehem did u startet to Play?! I'm Almosen lv. 50 😱
MMC MultiMediaChannel Du scheinst eine deutsche Rechtschreibkorrektur zu haben ;) I don't know when I started, but I have created many different characters since, only one of which I've played until the Ebony Warrior fight (at level 90).
When Ancient Stones started, I was immediately transported to Riverwood! By the time the video ended, my pockets were full of lavender and blue mountain flowers, and I had an Iron helmet on! This is amazing, sir. Marvelously done.
That part at the end... I swear the way that piano part creeps up on you as your walking around in Skyrim gets me every-time... You are the best bard of the game by far
the main motif of that piece is used several times throughout this medley, but not the whole piece because it didnt work with the rest of the arrangement.
If you mean the Hanon exercises then that has all the technique lessons you need I think, Chopin etudes are good also for developing good technique and musicality. The Hanon is very difficult though towards the latter parts of the book and gets highly advanced/skilled.
its in G sharp minor/A flat Minor, its pretty much all black keys, hence why he wrote it in that key. B major/C flat is the relative, and the B is natural of course, but the C is flattened, B obviously, A and G are flattened, hang on...its 7 flats all together, or 5 sharps, yes.
learning the notes is fairly easy for me as its not too advanced, so only a matter of hours to do that, if not minutes, depending on the difficulty/complexity overall. For example Ancient Stones took about 5 minutes to learn the notes and get to performance standard, the other part too longer to get to a performance standard but maybe just about a few days at most, the hard part for me is recording the music as I must practice the piece so much as to not make mistakes which is very tricky
I am learning loads of new stuff all the time, everyday I learn something new.... my mind is like a sponge full of notes of music that I want to paint onto the piano....whatever that means lol
yamaha p-155 this one is, the best one is probably one of the more expensive ones, like the roland V-piano or yamaha CP-1, modelled, rather than sampled pianos.
My man, the moment you started playing it took me years back to when I played Sierra's Conquests of the Longbow, the music had a similar style, but your interpretation of one of the best soundtracks of our time just blew me away. Job well done! bravo!
I have been playing piano for 11 years and I have to say I couldn't hope to come close to how beautifully you play. You have an astounding natural ability that I have never seen, you are phenomenal.
I started playing it yeah recently, bit too addictive though, its a real mind f**k thinking about the endless possibilities there are in the game on the whole, I literally dont know which way to turn in it, far too much choice for my liking :)
this is the yamaha p-155 and its very good value for money, sounds just as good as far more expensive pianos I have owned, still pondering on whether to buy roland hp507 as well so I have 2 pianos, the p-155 was only meant for gigging purposes. Its almost impossible to say which brand of piano is better, yamaha sounds great for certain pieces/styles of music, and roland does also, but they sound very different, yamaha is brighter, roland more mellow and with more pronounced bass
As a Stormcloak, I believe the Empire is good and I have pity on them. It is the Thalmor and those damn elves that I hate. The Imperials are just being used and threatened by the Thalmor. Even Blagruuf is a Stormcloak. He just won't admit it because the Thalmor will kidnap and torture him. Anyways, Skyrim for the Nords! Death to the Thalmor!
+Eren Jaeger I'm really disappointed we didn't get a DLC showing the aftermath of the civil war, and sadly now we will never know since Skyrim is over.
I cant right now, too busy with work, I never planned to do sheets for this one because it would be very hard to write out the way I played it here. I know its annoying when you want the sheets but you cant get them, I know how it feels as there is this star wars piano arrangement online by orlando someone and its amazing, but he never released sheets much to my dismay, but sometimes you have to accept it and move on however difficult it is, you cant have everything sometimes, thanks.
yeah but I have messed up already by venturing too far out from the main quests (never played a true open world RPG before) lol, I ended up in some drawf place up north and couldnt win any fights, luckily had an earlier saved game :) I just love the music also, far horizons is a nice one when you first get to riverwood, amazing, genius game and composer.
probably the roland fp7-f is best out of them, but then its really heavy so almost impossible to carry around with you for gigging etcc.. if thats what you plan on using it for, otherwise for a home piano its great I hear :)
your stuck on the same part as me yes, and exactly what you wrote I am having exactly the same issue :) playing the chords and octaves in between them as the melody notes is difficult as you have the left hand jumps which you must look at, at the same time somehow. However I think overall the hardest part of the piece is the ending with the descending octaves in both hands - A major, because they are semi-quavers, at that speed its really hard to get full accuracy with no errors.
yeah, but i am having trouble with several parts of it, its one of those pieces thats too easy to make the odd mistake, I may well have to upload a performance with mistakes in, its so much harder than 'all of me' anyway.
all pianists make mistakes, I had to check myself by asking Stephen Hough, the celebrated English concert pianist. He replied to me on twitter as I was also curious as to whether these top concert pianists make mistakes live whilst playing, he replied with an Analogy about tennis players not always hitting the ball within the lines :) its bound to happen I am afraid, no one is perfect, it just annoys me thats all when I make mistakes, whilst recording I mean, as I have to start all over again.
I can play that, but its his arrangement and it would be difficult to better him at it, for starters you need a good grand to pay it on like he does, I have seen a lot more impressive shows of piano virtuosity though than Jarrod playing his arrangements. You should watch volodos or marc andre hamelin, real super-virtuosos, thats real difficult stuff.
not really, its just rapid runs/passages, it looks harder than it actually is trust me, when the left and right hands play rapid notes up and down the piano at times your hands fit comfortably on the notes if played the correct way. I suppose they are called fast repeated broken chords actually when I think about it properly yes :) or arpeggios.
Damn 😅 10 years ago I posted this. 4 months ago I started on my piano learning journey haha. How time flies. Hopefully in 5years time I start playing complex pieces like these!
came with practice, but I think the ability is innate for the most part, just needs honing properly. I dont think I will make sheets for this unfortunately :(
You know, every 3 or 4 weeks I come back to see if you've uploaded a new video. I listen to it, feel inspired and sit there for the next hour clicking the repeat button. You've made my day so many times. Thank You
Beautiful song. I recently bought a piano and see you playing songs like this and others makes me practice harder. I hope comes a day when I can play like you.
I've found that thinking of a story works really well when trying to come up with a melody of my own. Just think of a story you want to tell and then think of the music that either goes with it or even tells the story itself in a sense. I'm not very good at composing music, but this way I've had many ideas for melodies, it works really well :)
*"We drink to our youth, to the days come and gone, for the age of oppression is now nearly done. We'll drive out the Empire from this land that we own. With our blood and our steel we will take back our home. All hail to Ulfric, you are the high king. In your great honor we drink and we sing. We're the children of Skyrim and we fight all our lives, and when Sovrngard beckons, everyone of us dies. But this land is ours and we'll see it wiped clean of the scourge that has soiled our hopes and our dreams."*
You should do the bard-song "Tale of the Tongues", easily the best song of the bunch. I remember after I defeated Alduin, I headed back to town to sell my stuff and stopped by the tavern, and I heard the bard playing this song, it was the first time I heard it and so I was like "woo! I unlocked a song!", before I knew it I stood there for about 3 whole minutes listening to the bard singing the song, and I was just absolutely riveted. Sometimes, immersion works.
Start by learning a song that doesn't have a very complex left-hand. The first song I learnt was "When the Saints". It only uses single noted chords C, F and G. It's quite simple.
lol at 2:16 is sounds like he's about to play the X files theme xD. Anyway great video, u have more talent in one finger than I do in the arrow in my knee... :))
Skyrim; epic the first few minutes of playing (if you've already played before) because of the epic soundtrack and good graphics then you get bored going into a cave every mission. *sigh* I still come crawling back to play after not playing for a year. :P
Each time I listen the second part, I think "How wonderfull could be a Trine's Song played by this guy..." . I really hope hear one from you, someday. I love your work.
hey I just wanted to say that your music is absolutely beautiful and you should keep doing what your doing because I literally could listen to this for hours on end so good job

i used to be a pianist like you, then i took an arrow in the hand
lol Thank you for this laugh of the day! :D
The most common excuse used in Skyrim
...to the ELBOW! Come on, dude. 😉
Age of oppresion. You must be a stormcloak for requesting that! This song goes out to the true sons and daughters of skyrim.
These songs remind me so much of the time when I heard them the first time, when I started playing Skyrim… Everything was so new and mystic, it was just a whole new world… now, after 1000 hours of gaming, that magic is lost… :(
Make a New Game and make everything NOT like Last Time😃
MMC MultiMediaChannel I really hope the next part will cause those feelings again… problem is, Skyrim was the first real computer game that I played, apart from Minecraft and Terraria, which are pixley sandbox games… So maybe it was also for that reason...

MMC MultiMediaChannel Du scheinst eine deutsche Rechtschreibkorrektur zu haben ;) I don't know when I started, but I have created many different characters since, only one of which I've played until the Ebony Warrior fight (at level 90).
Also kann man mehrere Charaktere gleichzeitig haben?
When Ancient Stones started, I was immediately transported to Riverwood! By the time the video ended, my pockets were full of lavender and blue mountain flowers, and I had an Iron helmet on! This is amazing, sir. Marvelously done.
thanks for watching everyone and for your great comments :)

Absoluteley amazing Mark!! What a great arrangement and what a great piece of music! Fantastic performance!!

Sitting on my lawn staring up at a starlit nightsky and this piece fits superbly.
I am learning loads of new stuff all the time, everyday I learn something new.... my mind is like a sponge full of notes of music that I want to paint onto the piano....whatever that means lol
Your age of oppression was brilliant but the ancient stones! Oooohh! That was wonderful. Great job! ;D
yamaha p-155 this one is, the best one is probably one of the more expensive ones, like the roland V-piano or yamaha CP-1, modelled, rather than sampled pianos.

I wish there was sheet music for this... It would be so cool to be able to play this.
Dude, the end of this medley (the Ancient Stones part) is absolutely stunning. It's perfect.
I started playing it yeah recently, bit too addictive though, its a real mind f**k thinking about the endless possibilities there are in the game on the whole, I literally dont know which way to turn in it, far too much choice for my liking :)

Ancient Stones is my favourite song of the whole soundtrack. Thanks.
Dude, I have a playlist in my phone only with your songs. Simply amazing. I wish play like this some day. :D
Great arrangement. Love getting the tingle when you hear truly great music.
Wonderful talent, really enjoy listening to this and other songs. Thanks for sharing.
I think this may be the most beautiful and inspiring thing I've ever heard
tu musica siempre me llena de alegria y me hace soñar...... gracias
You know, every 3 or 4 weeks I come back to see if you've uploaded a new video. I listen to it, feel inspired and sit there for the next hour clicking the repeat button. You've made my day so many times. Thank You
Yes man, I totally agree with you. There aren't any decent covers of that song on RUclips.
Ancient Stones sounds so amazing. Could listen to it over and over again.
Beautiful song. I recently bought a piano and see you playing songs like this and others makes me practice harder. I hope comes a day when I can play like you.

Isn't is aggression
Yep I just checked
24 people can't comprehend the dream they may have had of even playing this beautifully ;) Amazing
all of me, POTC jarrod radnich (if I can get it right) and some others

The feelings are exaclty the same than when listening to the soundtrack, that's really awesome.. It feels a lot deeper too
lol at 2:16 is sounds like he's about to play the X files theme xD. Anyway great video, u have more talent in one finger than I do in the arrow in my knee... :))
it*
That's not nice to talk about your wife like that. lol
You are God!! Wonderful!! I want to hear it, again and again
Great performance! Also, the P-155 sounds beautiful here.
This is amazing... Also I'm super envious of this talent...
Skyrim; epic the first few minutes of playing (if you've already played before) because of the epic soundtrack and good graphics then you get bored going into a cave every mission. *sigh* I still come crawling back to play after not playing for a year. :P
Excellent!!
You have golden fingers!!

Each time I listen the second part, I think "How wonderfull could be a Trine's Song played by this guy..." . I really hope hear one from you, someday. I love your work.
Wow. Absolutely fantastic Mark! In every single way, worth the wait. :D
