Looking good!! More interesting for me was at the end, seeing Scottie in steam as well!! 2023 has finally started putting a smile on my face! Thanks for sharing. Al.
Good Video pleasure to watch Britannia in action. Then you begin think about what has been destroyed in Crewe and the Railways in general. The locomotive works in Crewe was a amazing place to work not only did you get a excellent trade but you also got a broader outlook on life through working with a lot people. The men in Crewe Works took great pride in their work and their town that why Crewe was a better place live whilst Crewe Works was in its heyday. Crewe has no history now, all has been destroyed by the Conservative Party and local councils. For a town or city to be a tourist attraction it has to have history. Crewe Works could have been and should have been the best railway museum in the country. The locomotives that were produced there were magnificent as seen in your video.
Thanks Steven. Yes, almost criminal, the way Crewe s railway history has all been lost or destroyed, and an insult to all that worked there. It would have made an ideal, central place for a railway museum.
Wait why is it pulling MK3s lmao? Is it moving them to somewhere? Or is that actually doing a railtour right now? And no MK1 sets were available at the time.
That reminds me, know anything about Oliver Cromwell doing a run at any time? We've seen a lot of Britannia, but nothing of her sister, who's now known as Angry Ollie.
Sadly no time soon. Loco and tender back at Loughborough from storage, but work waiting til 78019 is finished, Boiler still at Tyseley. Hoping to go to GCR on Friday.
super video,,,,brings back memories of spotting at crewe in the early sixties,,,sneaking round "north" was EVENTFUL,thank you.
Excellent. Atmospheric in the extreme. Well done for capturing so many viewpoints: great work.

Glad you enjoyed, thanks. Haha, yes, I've had the same effect from that spot before 😀👍
Great video Phil, always beats me how those Drivers can see where they are going with all that smoke and steam exhaust...
Many thanks and a good question.
Excellent piece of film. Britannia looks great and so do the coaches. Nothing wrong with Mark 3's behind steam.
Thanks Colin.😀👍

Excellent footage Phil. A bit off course for "The East Anglian" but no matter. Wonder why Royal Scot was in steam?
Thanks Callum, showing off the headboards?
Testing a new regulator, I believe.

As in the description, just on a crew training run, so it's what ever is available
