  • Eine Aufnahme des Schweizer Fernsehens SRF 1 vom 14.August 2020, die Eröffnung des diesjährigen Sommer-Festivals im KKL Luzern. Martha Argerich spielte des Klavierkonzert Nr. 1 von Beethoven, brillant und nüancenreich; Herbert Blomstedt wirkte als sensibler Leiter des Lucerne Festival Orchestra; viele seiner Mitglieder können ebenfalls als Solisten bewundert werden.

    Herrliche Aufführung. Das Largo ungemein gefühlvoll und jeder Ton auskostend in der hervorragenden Akustik. Virtuos der 1. Und 3. Satz. Zwei überaus große Giganten in der klassischen Musik. Ausgezeichnetes Orchester. Höchste Kunst.

    Ludwig van Beethoven vereint Martha Argerich, die grande Dame des Pianos und Herbert Blomstedt, den großen Maestro des Taktstocks zu einem Gipfel musikalischer Kultur. Von dieser Zusammenkunft zweier optimal zusammenpassenden Giganten der klassischen Musik wünsche ich mir noch viele mehr und wünsche beiden vor allem Gesundheit und alles Gute. Herzlichen Dank für dieses einmalige unvergeßliche Erlebnis!

    Martha Argerich and Herbert Blomstedt are performing geniuses. And, of course, there is the rarest of geniuses, Beethoven, to celebrate on the 250th anniversary of his birth, today. We should be thankful for all of them.

      And I should add -- when have you ever heard the youthful vitality of the last movement of this concerto better realized than from the near-80 Martha Argerich and the 93-year-old Herbert Blomstedt?

      @@donaldallen1771 Her performances of this concerto are by far my favorite -- so whimsical and so much, as you said, youthful vitality! A lot of other renditions of this concerto sound simply stuffy!

    Martha ist im musikalischen Himmel unterwegs und kann völlig frei gestalten…dies ist nur möglich dank der einfühlsamen Begleitung von Herbert Blomstedt und dem wunderbaren Lucerne Festival Orchestra🍀❤️!!!

    Both conductor and pianist look old. But, the music they make is filled with youthful spirit. No hint of an advanced age (whatever it may be.) This is a classic! A collector's item to be cherished and appreciated.

      At that time Martha was 79 but in this video she definitely looks younger

    Es gibt keine bessere Interpretation dieses Klavierkonzertes! Ich bin Jazzbassist und muss als solcher immer dafür sorgen, dass das Timing nicht wackelt und es teuflisch swingt. Martha Argerich macht das auch, aber sie bremst oder steigert das Tempo oder die Lautstärke, je nachdem wie es Ihrem musikalischen Gefühl entspricht. Die Melodie erhält dadurch eine viel größere Aussagekraft, trotzdem swingt das ganze Orchester und unterstützt dadurch den dramaturgischen Ablauf dieser Komposition von Ludwig van Beethoven. Ein großes Kompliment an das Orchester und den Dirigenten.

    Un duo extraordinar, pianista si dirijorul!! Inegalabila Matha Argerich, da stralucire prin interpretarea sa oricarei lucrari muzicale! Clapele pianului sub degetetele sale au rezonante divine!! Multumim pentru postare ,un regal!! Silvia Baciu

    Notable dúo, más bien trío... Martha Argerich, Herbert Blomstedt, Beethoven. Esta argentina nos representa en todo el planeta. Beethoven es eterno y el maestro Blomsted es un muy notable y anciano director. ¡Felicitaciones!

    Absolutely fantastic! Beethoven is the best composer anyway! Mr. Blomstedt directs without a stick. But the orchestra knows anyway what to play. And Mrs. Algerich probably could play the piano even when halfasleep when in bed???
    Hope to meet Mr. Blomstedt someday. He lives just a mile from me...

    Maravillosa versión filmada el 14 de agosto de 2020, Martha Argerich tan bella como.siempre y conservando íntegras sus dotes pianísticas, este concierto y el Conc en sol de Ravel han sido durante largos años los 'caballos de batalla" de Martha, pero si interpretación ha evolucionado porque ha pasado de una interpretación más dura y seca, con carácter militar diría yo, a una mas dulce y poética, maravillosa conducción del Maestro Blomstedt pese a sus 93 años! Hermosa versión!!! Martha toda mi admiración para Ud!!!!

    What an amazing combination!! What a delight! Absolutely love the conducting of Blomstedt and the whimsy - placed to perfection where it matters - of Argerich. This is my favourite version of no.1, now!

      ..had a version of this with mitsuko uchida (spelling?), taped off bbc radio three (late 1980s i think?) ..with jane glover and the English chamber orchestra i thought was the bee's knees.. lost it..
      RUclips is a fantastic resource isn it.. 🙂

    When I saw the title I thought my head was going to explode! But when I observed the video quality I felt like my head was going to implode. But now that I'm to the music audio after the opening applause, and the quality is acceptable, my head pressure is in equilibrium.

    I wasn't super impressed with her composition of the cadenza but I was somehow impressed by her interpretation of her own composition.

    It was sad to see MA have to carry Ozawa onto the stage for the Choral Fantasy. On ths occassion howevee Blomstedt could have carried her. I just hope I have it together, both mentally and physically, at either of their ages.

    I was there that day. I prefer the second half of the concert when Blomstedt conducted Beethoven’s second symphony. To be honest the mask of Lucerne Festival was quite unbearable.
