You must be a Finnish citizen to get these cards, or?
@@kirstinilsen7362 Finnish resident is enough!
@@AleksiHimself as of right now S bank doesn't require residency
Hi Aleksi, thanks for the great content. JFYI: Nordea has discontinued cooperation with Finnair starting Jan 2023 (their operator who answered my phone call said so).
I wanted to know about the voucher. If I insert 100 euro in my account, the 125 euro voucher that I am going to get in spanki. Where can I use this and how can I use this?
Anti embarrassment mode. That's so Finnish. 😄 Thank you for your helpful information.
Thanks for watching!
Hi, and Danish citizen her - with a Finnish ID card, I got approved immediately for a Curve card. Cool info, thank you. I'll check out Komplett too. And thank you for the €5 enough for a coffee and cake
Good stuff! 😃🙌
S card is amazing. I love it.
And I use the card combo for cashback, too. Not many people know about it. 👍
It's so good!
Thanks for the straight forward walk thru... After being victim of fraud for a 2nd time I finally decided to dump my Nordea Master card
Awesome information. I’m moving to Finland in next 2 weeks. Thank you so much Alexi
Good stuff and WTF Welcome to Finland 😃🙌
Great information to have. Thanks, Aleksi!
Thanks Heather! 😃🙌
haha I got declined from Komplett Card immediately after my application. Maybe the reason is that I have just arrived in Finland, but I will try several months later. Thank you for the information!!!
I guess it's because your credit rating will be "no rating" until you've lived here for two years. But it's worth trying it out every once in a while.
I've lived here for 5 years, have a reliable and solid credit history, and still got rejected. Go figure hahaha
Aleksi, if you have authorization from a client (make it writen), you can add your client´s possible to S payment bill on your own S-bonus adding. I pay all my grocery with this.
What do you mean with a client?
Thanks for the info bro
Any time!
i just dont understand why these card companies ( especially S-ryhmä) doesnt offer these things in english ,especially given fact Uusimaa has close to 30 percent non-finns , tampere like 15 percent and turku about 15 as well . just dont understand why they have to be so ´´segregating ´´ ...
It's a good point. It's a big investment to offer services in English so maybe they haven't found it as a good choice yet.
Have you ever tried to do something in another EU country? Finland has an incredible amount of websites in English. You won't find that elsewhere.
Because S-Pankki does not like foreigners lol
They don’t want to do business with you if you don’t understand the terms and conditions. So effectively, they are consciously choosing their customers. No Finnish, no loans.
I have looked for this exact info so many times but never managed to find such a concise and helpful review! I really appreciate all of your content on the practicalities of living in Finland.
Thanks for the great help Aleksi!
Good stuff! 😃🙌
Thank you Aleksi, excellent recommendation! I have been a S owner-customer and (student) K-Plussa member, which really save a lot 💶! Interested to try the others too!
Good stuff Harry! Let me know if you have questions.
I have an account in nordea , can you help me to select which credit card in nordea is best to use . Finnair cash back card is not issued after 1 jan
Unfortunately I don't know the card selection of Nordea. You can check the features of each card and see what works you the best.
Depozit chesh mony în finland?
Make a video on buying cars and car insurance.
Good idea!
I got curve card but the free version one can link only 2 cards, do you use the free version.
Unfortunately, they changed the rules after publishing this video. The free version allows only two cards.
Aleksi, would you pay for Finnair ticket purchases using Komplett card and get 2% cashback, or would you pay for it using Finnair Visa credit card and get 2.5-3 Finnair Plus award points per euro? I don't have a Finnair Visa credit card and I'm considering if it is worth applying for one if I spend 4000-5000 euros annually on Finnair tickets.
Have you figured this out? I'm at the same roadblock atm, even considering Amex Platinum
Does s spankki card work with fitbit pay and google pay?
I think it works with Google Pay. Check their website
@@AleksiHimself ok thhanks
@@AleksiHimself I couldn't find any info about it
Hello im new in finland can i apply for it?
Is there any monthly/yearly charge for komplett card?
No. The only potential cost is the interest but you can avoid it by paying the balance off in full.
Dear Aleksi,
Apologies for writing my question here.
Pls could you send me a message with the answer - which web site is the best for searching a house to buy in finland. By house I mean villa or detached house that will be a permanent residence. I cannot find correct advertisment website for searching.
Thanks in advance

Aside from Visa and Mastercards, what other type brands of credit cards does finland have?
I think we only have Visa & Mastercard.
Aleksi, Tarvitsen suomalainen appua, voitko? kiitos.
Kerro mitä on mielessä.
hi, your videos are amazing, and I have seen your videos on business which are very comprehensive. Well, I am willing to open Toiminimi, and for this could you recommend with which bank should I run my company? you know which is not having more bank charges or whatsoever. My personal account is also in S Pankki, but they do not open business accounts.
I think they are more or less the same in any bank. You can also check Holvi.
Thanks buddy
Is it better Komplett card or Finnair Plus Mastercard?
I think Komplett is better.
hello, if I put S etukortti in curve card, would the bonus apply if I use curve card in S market or anything that have S bonusta?
Good question. You can only add payment cards to Curve. If you have a debit or credit card from S-Pankki with S etukortti included, you can add it to Curve but it does not activate S bonus automatically. You need to either tap the card at the point-of-sale or you can use an app called MobilePay and add both S-etukortti loyalty and payment card there. For example,. when I go to Prisma, I pay using MobilePay and it activates S bonus and allows me to pay with Curve.
Hei Aleksi, by chance do you know how or where can i pay my finnair visa credit? I have an account # in statement but the Account Name what to put is not indicated. Hope you can read this. Thank you.
They will send you a bill every month with payment details. You pay it just like any other bill.
@@AleksiHimself thank you
You have to be a Finnish citizen to Get those cards, or?
No. You need to be a resident, not citizen.
Did you try applying to any of the cards? Let me know!
Stay safe Aleksi, we all want the best for Finland!
Thanks Lena!
My application for the komplett card was declined. I was surprised since I live in Finland since 7 years, I am older than 23 yo, I have a permanent job (regular income) and good credit. I will try later again.
The curve card does not offer cash back since March. Aleksi, do you know of other card/app that offers cash back options as an alternative to Curve card?
Sorry to hear that. Curve has changed since then yes. I think these three are the best options at the moment.
Aleksi, can you do an update of this talking also about cards that collects travel points? I feel that Europe has way less options than USA and Brazil...
Yes, the topic is on my list. You are right, cashback and loyalty stuff are not a thing here.
@@AleksiHimself another topics in mind are: how to get language fluency and things you got as feedback from your students.
If you want to talk about polemics... Why labor union is (not) important? Changes on immigration law. And you point of view of Finnish work market
How i can use the bonus points of komplett credit card?
You can withdraw them to your credit from the web version. In other words, they will deduct your credit bill. You can't cash them out but the effect is the same.
What are the best credit card for international travel and for rent payment? And how to do that?
You can't pay rent with a credit card in Finland, only bank transfers. Most credit cards are fine for international travel.
I love s bonus Card! After 1 year we take the bonus money after 1 year and take a holiday
Good stuff! 😃🙌
@@AleksiHimself i love it👍
Thank you! We are moving to Finland in June and this helps a lot. Thanks for all the helpful information! :)
Good stuff! 😃🙌
Komplett bank does not exist anymore, right?
@@toalgin they changed their name to Morrow. Everything else has remained the same.
Hi Alexi and All! Thank you very much for your detailed and helpful videos and for these great hints! I'll relocate to Finland quite soon, and I would have a question: Will I need a Finnish back account anyway or will they accept it if I have a Revolut account? Or do I need to open a Fnnish bank account fo sure?
Thank you in advance!
For how long will you live here? You definitely need to open a Finnish bank account because you will get online banking codes for strong authentication, which you will need all the time.
I would also get a Wise account to pay rents and stuff: ruclips.net/video/Ioh9WW8Pmn0/видео.html
Thank you Alexi! First for 4 years for sure due to my uni but honestly I would like to settle down there forever.
@@No1Xeophitia okay, then you definitely need to open an account here.
*Hei alexi , I have been living in Finland for over 4 years. Is it possible to get credit or loan to buy destination holiday house , for example I want to buy a house in Thailand , Maldives or India* does bank provides loan ? I do not have any debts or house in Finland
I replied to this comment on another video.
@@AleksiHimself may I know which video it is ?
@@AleksiHimselfcan you please answer this question again ?
@@solomonnathanaeljackson8435 AFAIK, Finnish banks can give loans for homes abroad but the homes cannot be used as a collateral. Home loans require 100% collateral and Finnish homes provide 70-80% for that. So you would need to cover the shortfall with cash or something else the bank accepts.
Prisma is so big
True!
that's what your gf said
I hope you enjoy your trip to Miami. I hope you get to see St. Petersburg. Florida. The oldest city in the US. Hopefully, no hurricanes when you visit. Your fans are all praying that Putin decides not to visit Finland. If he does, I doubt not that the Finns will know what to do with him.
Thanks Mary!
ALeksi, if you want. I can send you my material to test for your channel. There is more investment information. But, please, take a look on your FB messenger.
Sure man.
