I moved from Texas to Delaware 5 years ago and I wish I could have done it sooner. Yes, traffic on Rt. 1 is bad during the summer but I have found Rt 9 to be a much better route if the tide isn't up. I have never had a problem getting a doctor when I needed one and Bayhealth has a new hospital in Milford which I had the opportunity to visit last year when I had Covid. The biggest plus about Delaware is low taxes and homeowners insurance.
Lots of truth here. I was born and raised in Delaware. Moved to the south in the 90's. I wanted so much to move back home to Delaware, the Lewes and Rehoboth area. Too busy now and crowded. Houses are extremely costly. It's not the same. 😞
Yeah the growth rate is getting out of hand I would say, definitely hoping deldot gets some new highways built down in Sussex and Kent county, I heard something about a new Interstate 99 project
You talking about leaving Delaware or leaving earth altogether. I don't think changing states will change how bad our society has gotten. Most of the nasty attitudes came to Delaware from some other state, I've been in Delaware my entire life also.
@@UncleGingersChronicles just taking about leaving Delaware. I'm looking into offgrid living. Moving to less populated place. I agree with your point about society though. It's a shame it's gotten like this. 😔 Delaware has gotten way to tight for this country girl. Lol
@lyndabell1966 Move out to central PA. I'm from Juniats County, it's a bit out of the way but people are nice, food is great, especially Amish food. Lots of events to go to, even during the cold months. It's not perfect but its peaceful.
How about the great water quality in south Del? So unsafe to drink from a well or city source that Del had the highest cancer rate in the country! Aside from the superfund sites on rt.1 and Dupont, Hercules, atsra zeneca, ICI pollluting northern Del. Delaware is one of most polluted states. But I guess we dont have cwd in dear population.
Good point to bring up! Most of the water quality issues from the well were around where the Mountaire Chicken farms/plants are, they just settled a massive class action lawsuit. City water overall is safe to drink. The well water often times contains high levels of nitrates & an in-house reverse osmosis filtration system takes care of that. According to many sources (one linked here www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings/natural-environment/pollution) Delaware is actually doing pretty well in terms of pollution.
Well this looks really good but somebody posted on the channel that Delaware was boring nothing to do really small state you looking for nightlife you can forget about it there's nothing here
There’s going to be 2 sides to every story. Depending on the area you’re looking in, some have more nightlife than others. I would venture to guess the bars in Dewey Beach would argue there is plenty of nightlife
“Bad” traffic is certainly relative. Depending on what part of NJ you are in, ours is probably much more tolerable. It’s really only heavy 2 days a week when rentals change over during the summer months
Not really. I'm from NJ and currently live in Delaware. The bad traffic is only around Wilmington-Newark and down the Beach by Rehoboth and Lewes. Here between Wilmington and Dover it's not serious traffic. My family is from NYC, North Jersey and I grew up in Atlantic city so I know traffic.
I lived in the Bay Area in Northern California and Washington DC area so traffic is the way of life. There is no traffic here in Delaware not unless you are on the road stuck for 1-2 due to traffic.
Long term rentals are hard to come by so you can typically find a tenant. As long as you are inline with a fair market rent price and the home is in good shape you should be able to fill it pretty quickly
The weather here is overall pretty mild. Warm & humid in the summer, the only really cold month is typically February, and even then it’s usually in the high 30s low 40s. More snow in the northern part of the state, not much snow down at the beaches.

I’m debating if I should move to New York or Delaware. I do photography. Im thinking Delaware though

I live here for 5 years wow it's not that bad a little boring but its okay
Where in Delaware?
I'm 61. I've been here my entire life. People used to be nice. Not like that anymore 😥 cold, unfriendly impatient people. I can't wait to leave here.

@@UncleGingersChronicles😮It's true, Texas is not even a hospitable place like it used to because of transplants.

When Biden comes in Delaware yes.
How easy is it to rent a house out in Millsboro DE?

In the summer it feels like 102-103. I live in New castle county no where near the beach.
Not every day is that hot, but as I mentioned, warm & humid in the summer throughout the state
@@MattLunden You are correct, Here in the north we get a lot of ice in the winter. The Month of March is the real kicker of winter lol
