I bought the 14th century one about a week and a half ago got it in the mail on Sunday andThe black coating is already coming off on my handle and the handle is rattling real bad... It has a very flimsy blade as well. And from what they told me at KOA this is the new model with the 1075 steel

That's too bad, is it just the handle/grip that has movement or is the entire hilt loose? Regarding the coating, is it the leather dye that's bleeding or do you mean the actual leather is peeling off. Seems the blades are potentially still showing issue regarding the distal tapering of thinner stock I mentioned in the follow up. Hopefully not all these new models have the fit and finish issues you mentioned. If it is just the handle this can be remedied as I mentioned in the follow up but if you are concerned definitely give KultofAthena a email or call and discuss a potential refund replacement. Let me know if you have any questions regarding repairs!

It must be a dye issue. I can hear the Tang rattling in the bottom of the handle but no cosmetic issues besides the handle. the crossgaurd is firm as of now. The scabbard is a very tight fit

@@shanesybert2419 Yea the dye issue is easily remedied by getting some sealant spray or leather wax. As far as the handle issue it sounds like they probably carved the groove too wide which is making the tang shift inside the handle. Sort of an easy fix if you have wood working skill or experience. What you'll want to do is open the grip at the sandwich seam and fill in the gap with wood putty or epoxy and then re-glue the handle with wood glue and then of course re-wrap the grip. At worst making a new handle would be the second option. If this is too much DIY, talk to KultofAthena about a refund/replacement before doing any DIY that would go against their return/replacement policy. Sorry again about the bad luck.

@@DynamoSwordChannel thank you so much sir. I feel like I would like to do the work myself. It'll just make it more sentimental to me in the long run. The only thing that worries me is the wobbliness of the blade. The only blade I really have to compare it to his depeeka hand and a half spadona, and it is very Ridgid. I thought this one should be as rigid Or maybe this spadona is more meant for thrusting.

@@DynamoSwordChannel also I want to add that the Deepika hand and a half spadona I got had a bent pommel. So the nut on the end of the pommel was offset by a quarter inch. But cult of Athena gave me a half refund pretty much. And also expedited me this new one I got. So I have had very bad luck with cult of Athena. But I don't think I've given up yet
