    I had tennis elbow for 5 months then I tore the tendon. At this point I decided on PRP. Very painful for 2 days. On the 3rd day I felt good, so I decided on a light jog.(I am a runner) Weird, I actually rolled my ankle! I started to walk on it felt better than I started to jog again. But this time I rolled the same ankle and fell! Now I am nursing a twisted ankle and elbow! I have never done that before on the same road I run everyday! My doctor only recommendto rest for a week. I should of watched this video first! Thank you

    Thanks for the videos Dr. Jeffrey!
    I had a whiplash injury about 6 years ago that was undiagnosed at the time, and its been slowly getting worse especially this year.
    I have gone through 5 treatments of Prolotherapy injected into my cervical spine with slight improvement, and about 3 weeks ago a PRP session with my same provider.
    I have also had a DMX scan that revealed alot of loose tendons in my neck causing my upper cervical Atlus/Axis to be moving too much and banging/pushing into my vagus nerve among other things giving me continual feelings of dizziness, pinch, lethargy down my arms/hands/legs, difficulty swallowing, brain fog etc etc.
    I am hoping the PRP helps, I feel a little better than I did 6 months ago, going from bad daily neck pinches where I would need to lay down, to now feeling more of a constant low-grade pinch, not sure if that is better or not.
    I was going to give this PRP a full 2 months and not do any more injections for a while and go on a very anti-inflammatory diet and routine to see if my neck has healed up and get rid of this chronic inflammation I seem to have.
    Would love any advice or opinions, at this point I'll try anything, the daily dizziness, numbness, lethargy and such are so tiring, I'm constantly exhausted!!

    I have a really bad rectus femoris tendon overuse injury in my right hip. The hip underwent two replacements in 5 years because the first replacement was loose from the beginning. I’ve just had a second PRP injection and I have to say each time I’ve had the injection I have descended into a really excruciating pain spiral. This has been the worst year of my life! I was doing quite well after the first injection but wasn’t aware about the NSAID issue prior to the shot, but not after it, so I’m not sure if the result was as good as it could have been. After two months I had plateaued so decided to get another shot. The first shot really helped begin the healing process but the week following was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced. Shooting pain to the point of screaming. I once gave birth to twins with the second twin being a breach delivery. No anesthesia. The pain I’ve experienced following both PRP shots has been as bad as my delivery of twins! I take acetaminophen every 5 to 6 hours and I’m desperate to take it to try to fend off the pain. Every day, I have at least one episode lasting about 45 minutes where I am screaming with pain. The only thing I can do is surround my hip with ice and not move in spite of the wracking pain. I won’t be able to tolerate another shot. I’ve been dealing with this injury for 6 months and still can’t walk. I’m hopeful the second shot will allow me to walk again. I’ve had a physical therapist coming to my house twice a week and she is brilliant. She may be the sole reason I had improved prior to the second shot. She will continue to support me for the next couple of months. I couldn’t have survived this without her!

      @JeffreyPengMD  Год назад

      Just looked up the PEAK kit, it's got 30 and 60 cc versions, those are good volumes. I typically use a 60 cc blood draw for the shoulder. When doing tendons, you actually want a "leukocyte rich" protocol which turns the PRP a red color. So what you're describing sounds right on! Good luck!

    Hello, I am after my 2nd PRP to the knee. I am a fitness guy, and doctor told me that after 3 days, i can exercise anything except legs. I have some pain after i did stretching including being on the knees, does it mean, healing process of the first 2 injections is lost, or It my knee is just irritated ? ... I am guessing if I can go to the gym and do the exercices while sitting or should I stop gym at all for whole healing process. Gym is very important to me, but dont want to destroy the healing process ... What do you recommend ? Doctor set healing plan 5 injections and break between them is 7-14 days

    I did get an prp injection in Davao Philippijnes. It was my second after 1 month thr first. I have an bot on both hip without cartilige. But the injections coult only be done with 20ml blood. They also could not do a double spin. They have not the best prp protocol and of course there was even not place for a bigger amount of blood in the hip. So in fact in three sessions they reach the 60 ml dosis. After first injection i did feel alreddy better, the pain is less than before minus 20 procent. The finally result is not sure becouse of bot on bot situation.

    “Some soreness”?! My shoulder killed me for a full month after PRP. Now two months later, still painful and very limited. I’m treating it right, no pain killers whatsoever. But let me tell you, if this doesn’t fix my torn supraspinatus, no way I’m doing this again. No fricking way. I’ll prefer surgery, rehab and get back with my life. This has been just as painful and slow to recover as labrum tear surgery on my other shoulder, and insurance covered it. Frustrated.

    • @JeffreyPengMD
      @JeffreyPengMD  Год назад +1

      I haven't heard of the Tropocells PRP system. A quick review of their manufacturer site shows they use only 11 cc of blood. I will be making a new video on how many platelets are required for successful outcomes. It seems you need about 5-10 billion platelets per PRP injection. There's no way 11 cc of blood will get you this amount of platelets. Generally, you need >50cc of blood to achieve this.
      This video goes into whether you want to combine PRP and HA: ruclips.net/video/iK3zTFRTzsA/видео.html

      I had peroneal longus tendon resection between the left ankle bone and the 5th metatarsal as well as the brevus tendon repair. I thought the surgery would “fix “ my pain but I still had pain for a year. This was very problematic for my golf swing and weight shift to the outside of the left foot and ankle on the downswing. After doing research on PRP I decided to give it a try. First, I had to convince my original surgeon to give me the shot. As I said this was more than year after surgery. Well I can say that after 2 weeks of laying off golf I had only minor pain and started playing golf again. And 3 weeks after the PRP shots I was pain free. It has been a several years ago now and I am still pain free in the ankle. I will tell you that the surgeon expressed he did not do a lot of PRP injections. Whether that had anything to do with the very significant pain I had during the injections I don’t know. But he did inject me at 3 different points during the one session. I have since had PRP near the knee at the top of the peroneal tendon and this past week for the upper long head bicep tendon. Anyway, I wish I had been able to get a PRP shot in the ankle before surgery. I did live with the tendonits in the ankle for about a year before I first got it checked out hoping it would heal on its own. The first mistake was not staying away from golf long enough for the tendon to fully heal. I would wait a week and then go play again which just kept the tendon inflamed. I think I should have not played for at least three weeks and then if the tendon flared up again at that point tried PRP with a significant rest period. I think if I had done that I would not have had to have the longus tendon resection due to tendinosis. As the doctor described it the tendon was shredded and unsaveable once he was able to see it in surgery.
