should I do my changes on 3d model only?? we as designer usually use different views like plans and elevations to do our changes.. can i do my changes in the floor plan view? or elevation view?
You can edit any of the drawings however you like. If you break the connection between the 3D model and the 2D drawing any changes you make to the 2D drawing will not be reflected in the 3D model or any of the corresponding 2D drawings. Similarly, any changes you make to the model, will not be reflected in the 2D drawing.
@@BricsysOfficial Sorry, I don't understand ? Did you miss saying that "for your changes to be reflected in the other drawing, you need to UPDATE " ?? Or are you saying "you can edit any of the drawings however you like but then you will break the reflections in the other drawing" - please clarify. Thanks.
@@BricsysOfficial Also - you mention that the 2D drawing is a block - so how can you say that you can edit any of the drawings however you like ? You've confused me.
@@Jez1963UK IF you break the connection between 3D and 2D the updates will not be reflected in the matching drawing. If you add a door to the 2D drawing, it will not show a door in the 3D drawing. However, if you add a door to the 3D model and then Update the 2D drawing, it will show a door, providing that the icons are properly connect to the block that you are using. We do not know when the training videos will be updated, but until then you can find here the latest developments in the BricsCAD® BIM product: ruclips.net/video/EYXGtq69fZA/видео.html Also, here it is this article about the improvements in BricsCAD BIM V21: blog.bricsys.com/whats-new-for-bricscad-bim-v21/
Hi, Samuel, the "Generate Elevation Fill" is now a property on the Sheet View(viewport) on a Sheet, generated in a BIM project. This allows you to generate different section results from the same BIM Section entity, which is used by Drawing Customization. By default the elevation section fill is ON for elevations and OFF for plans and sections. As workaround you can switch the section type from section to elevation.
The buildings are inserted as xrefs. The fading effect can be controlled by XDWGFADECTL variable. Please set to zero or to a negative value, then perform REGEN.
The problem speaking personally is that the tutorials re always on very simple drawings/projects. There does not seem to be good tutorials on adding sections and how to add them to your drawing sheets etc. Adding tags, also an issue as -in steel structures- one never puts the standard iE. European, American etc before the member size. There is no help anywhere in how to remove the "standard" to have a normal call up.

(V21) The "Generate elevation fill" property doesn't seem to show up for my sections. All of the other properties are there. Any advice?

When I open the 'master' drawing, both buildings look like they are 'greyed out'. What can I do about this?
