- 1-2/3 inch sensors, like those in the FZ80/82, FZ200, FZ300/330, do suffer from image noise as the ISO is increased.
In this video I show a technique that will allow ISO's as high as 3200 - even in lo light- to be used and output some extremely low image noise. It even enhanced images at the ISO 80/100 values.
I also show a way to get long exposures (up to 60 seconds) with the FZ80/82 which is normally limited to 4 seconds.
Using this technique with larger format sensors also improves there high ISO images.

This was one of the most practical photographing tutorial I have seen. The histogram and the thought flow connected to it
I'm astonished by the results. That is some top tier work sir.
thank you I'm happy to share this
Great video-tutorial again. Thanks for sharing, Graham!
Thank you.
I have the lumix gH4 which I love because they are small and very easy to hand hold. I have a lot of noise in an interior that I hand held recently.
Amazing Mr Graham!! Thank you, its very very useful to me!!
Wonderfull tutorial! I have just bought the FZ82 and I find your channel of extreme good use. Perhaps I should look further but I have two questions: do you shoot in jpg or raw and why? Do you have links to some tutorials (or do you do them) on how to work with photoshop?
Great tutorial as always! By the way, the software Affinity Photo can also do noise reduction by photo stacking (mean/median). Compared to Photoshop, Affinity Photo is not subscription based and often much cheaper to get. So this might be an interesting alternative to so people.
Thanks for the info!
A very useful video, thank you. Off topic, how do you get those wonderful background landscapes behind you? Are they physical pictures or imposed in your video editor?
Yes its a green screen behind me and the images are blurred and superimposed in the video editor.
Thank you , Sir !
Most welcome!
Hi! does this -/+ 5 noise reduction affect raw files or jpegs only?
real teacher!!
many years back, yes.
@@GrahamHoughton12 and a great one! thank you, ive learnt a lot from you.
God bless you 🙏
Thank you
Hi Graham interesting information. Have you tried Topaz denoise ?
Yes I have before they charged for it though I think this method is better for still life. The Topaz will work with images caught with more subject dynamics which would not work with multiple images. That's the great thing about photography that there are so many ways to achieve a good end result.
Not just with Panny cameras then :) . Thanks for the PS tutorial though! ISO noise is of course a problem on MFT cameras as well.
yes the gains can be made with any camera.
Have you ever don a g3 tutorial
No that's one camera I've never owned - I had a G5 for a short while.
Graham, been a subscriber for while, why not just er... buy Sony!?
Thanks to Graham, I could do wonders with my FZ300. Sony is expensive for me
Probably because there is no reason to when you already have several cameras from one ecosystem.
I started out with Sony as my first digital camera (Alpha 100) then moved to Nikon but they just weren't innovative enough. I switched to Canon for serious work but Panasonic bridge cameras and MFT offered so many more possibilities that were easily affordable to a greater market and one which I identified as the best path for me to begin my tutorials.
All sensors have noise
