Thank you so much for sharing. I purchased the FC 300 just a week ago. I used to take 35 mm photography in the dark room, but haven't really messed with photography for several decades. I read a lot of good reviews on the Lumix so I purchased it. I don't mind saying that having a full pledge camera is a little bit overwhelming. The learning curve is steep for an older guy who hasn't done any photography at all for many years. I've watched many RUclips videos, but they don't seem to get to the practical nuts and bolts of how to set the camera up and why. Giving his extraordinary. Thank you for your gift. May God bless you!

Hi Jeffrey, A question, I am srill having an issue with the automatic focus. It goes in and out without locking on an adjustment? Any help would be really appreciated. God bless!
@, hi David, yes I do, I have a video called best focus point set your camera up for this best focus point will help with your focusing, are you shooting moving objects or static objects, when you are shooting animals, birds in the trees or animals in a tree make sure that you shoot for the main body of the animal and a little bit of the branch that he’s on, don’t try to shoot for the head unless you are close , shoot for the main body. You’ll have better results, also I also shoot in single mode and just repetitiously, pushing the shutter button multiple times, I also get good results of this, if you are in poor light or low light situations, you will not get good results with focusing, it will struggle, but definitely get the best focus point set up in your camera that will help you a lot ,when I’m out and about, I set my my dial on shutter priority that works best for moving animals and birds, but as you could see from many of my videos, most of my pictures were shot in program mode, you can also see that most of my pictures have been minimal movement or just sitting on a branch, I hope this helps if it doesn’t get back with me, may you have a beautiful evening and God bless you too thanks, David :))
@ 2nd message, when you have your camera in continuous focus, it will look like it is not focusing, but it is continuously focusing, kinda like the pros it’ll be hit and miss, :) try not to go over medium shutter speed, I always use medium. It works the best and doesn’t over load the buffer quickly:) I also use “scan disk extreme”SD cards. you shouldn’t have to go over 64 GB. That alone is for thousands of pictures and even videos :)
I've had an FZ 300 for a while now and this is actually my 2nd one. Hi captain casp, great deal on that Panasonic Fz 300, I was wondering are you working with photo software or not? Because if you’re working with photo software, make sure you set your camera to raw plus fine JPEG. I’m starting to utilize the raw format of this camera and it’s been working out extremely well for me because I have new updated software, keep an eye on your saturation, in JPEG in the photo settings, I notice, sometimes depending on the day saturation gets extremely rich sometimes so you may have to set it to zero, or even a little less, that’s my take remember, make sure you put “my best focus point video” on your camera and you’ll do just fine, even I was frustrated when I first purchased this camera, ps the more you keep it in optical the sharper your images will be, thanks captain for the beautiful comments ,may you have a beautiful day on your trip, PS give me a shout back let me know how the camera did after you get back from your trip. 😇
Love the video, but I had a problem seeing the bottom of the screen because of your room light on it, managed to set my FZ2300 up to your settings and will try it out soon. Thank you.

Thank you for the video. I adjusted setting as your camera. You are the best! Simple and easy 1. I found that saturation on #4 is too much ,and i lowered to #2, i still believe is too much!( I viewed them on TV, it could be my TV ) Should i try on #1? 2. Do you recommend Aspect ratio 16:9 ? I usually use this to shoot my family while traveling but I can't get best out of this camera. Can you show us best setting for shooting family, portrait or human
Thanks George, remember to set your focus to AFC and my best custom point ,keep the lens’s to 600mm optical only ,keep ISO to 100 remove any polarizer you have on the camera, follow my instructions, and you should be good to go, thanks George for always being positive and have a beautiful day. PS let me know if you think it’s better than the auto AI + setting 😊
Hi Lucas, wow, mountain bike photography, a great new Avenue , are you talking about taking photos from your mountain bike for scenery, I personally would use the (P)program set your aperture, between “4.0” to 5.0 do not go above this. Diffraction will set in , PS have you looke for my best focus point if you haven’t look for “best focus point” in my video group and set your Camera for that little single focus point this will get you the best sharp pictures. You can also try your vivid profile and in that profile, you can actually change your saturation plus or minus to your liking, if you have any more questions, please contact me ASAP. Thanks, Lucas. Have a beautiful day.
Just watched your video. Going through the camera setting was helpful. A couple of points. Not sure how you got in the Program Shift mode. I ended up Googling it and found I had to hold the shutter 1/2 down and then turn the dial. I don't recall what your were using for white balance. Is is AWB? In any event, looking forward to shooting some pictures with these settings.
Go to The round wheel on the back your camera push it to the right. This is where your white Balance Settings are, you have four programmable ones. When you get to the first one. A little coloured screen is going to pop up with a bar like Crosshair in the middle, you are going to press down on the big wheel, and that will put the coloured screen bigger in the viewfinder, push the wheel to the right, I have only gone two or three steps to adjust true colour, which is seeing through the viewfinder, you can move that bar to the right for a tiny bit more cooler picture which will give you bluer skies and more authentic, looking pictures, or you can move that bar to the left of Center for a more warmer picture, play around with that and see what you think, thanks for the good question and have a beautiful day

Thanks a lot for this amazing video! I'd love to change my settings but it doesn't give the opportunity to choose the photo style so I can't put it on custom mode. Why does this happens? Any solutions?
Hi , subscriber, please make sure you’re in the (P-mode) go to chapter 1 page one the very top of the screen and you will see something that says photo style. Click on that and go to your little wheel on the lower part of the camera and push it to the right there you’ll find all your photo styles, including the custom if you keep pushing it to the right, it’ll go through all the photo styles there’s where you make your adjustments, just remember to click OK when you’re done, I have a new custom photo style setting, contrast I set at (0) sharpness I set at (+2) noise reduction. I set at (-2) saturation I set at (+2) you will have to make a choice where you want to set these setting , these are only what I use, Everybody is different please have a beautiful day and text me back to see if that works for you :) ps I’m going to update these shortly and an upcoming video :)
@@jeffryZ Thanks a lot for your immediate answer, so kind of you! My main problem is that if I go to the P-mode it doest allow me to click on photo style; I can do it only if I go to the C-mode, I can set everything as in the video but then it doesn't save the changements and I have to reset everything after every time I turn off the machine or I just change mode. It's really weird
I have set-up all the settings you've suggested in "Best Sweet Spot for FZ 300". But when I was all done and looked at the LCD screen; there were so many indicators in the view finder, How do i clean that up? I like the idea of automating as much as possible, "P-mode for personal". Thanks for the time.
Hi dz, glad to help you out! On the back of your camera, you’re going to see a little black button next to the rocker wheel that says”DISP” this is your display, button it has several different screens in it that you can change just from the button , a lot of that stuff will go away for you, have a super day🌤️
Good morning ☀️, set your camera up for my best focus point, make sure that your camera is in AF macro mode a symbol with just a flower on it, can be accessed from the button on the left side of the lens, it will be the furthest symbol on the left when looking at your viewfinder That way you can shoot at 3.3 feet instead of 6.6 feet thanks subscriber for the question. Have a beautiful day and enjoy PS if you have any more questions let me know.🙂
Hi, I’ve had this camera for a couple of months. Just pulled it out. Thought I would start to figure things out. Wow very intense. I haven’t had a camera in 20 yrs. I’ve gone through this video and adjusted everything you said. But know I have black lines going through the image not on the actual picture. But when viewing. Kind of distracting. What did I miss
You should not have black lines, unless your seeing them on the side of your view screen, unless your talking about the “horizontal level” faint black bars which are for keeping your picture level? You can turn theses off in the “DISP” button on the back of your camera, right side just below the green play button, press the “disp” button until you get what you like on the view screen, hope this helped :) have a beautiful day today.
In a few videos, I’m coming out with an all JPEG setting, which will be an amazing setting for you JPEG users, I’m in the final testing of these new settings, thank you have a beautiful day.
I enjoyed the video. Could you walk me through the settings in this camera to take frozen pictures of birds in flight? I live in the woods and have amazing photo opportunities but can't figure out the right settings to capture clear pictures of moving birds/animals. That was the reason I bought the camera, but after 1000 pictures, I dont have one picture where the wings aren't blurry. PLEASE HELP!!
Hello subscriber thank you for the question, in order to catch a birds in flight, you’re going to set your aperture to f2.8 I recommend that you do this in the program mode ( p-mode) and let the camera choose the shutter speed, just a little FYI to catch smaller birds in flight you have a shutter speed of at least 2000+ and unfortunately this only has a half inch sensor in it so the only way you’re going to get the shutter speed up is to lower your aperture to 2.8 and lock it in there and make sure you view my best focus point video so you can install that on your camera you can use this for birds of flight, big birds are easier than the small birds they move slower, this camera only has 49 focus points that being said it does not cover the whole sensor. Unfortunately, that’s why a lot of my ones that I catch birds usually either perched or just walking around in the tree or bush even for me. It’s difficult to catch a small bird in flight and getting that high shutter speed to freeze it, its difficult let me know if that’s helped thank you and have a beautiful gorgeous day.🌤️

Hi James, you can go into picture profile like standard, custom, vivid, and so on, and reduced the noise reduction down to -5 that may help with your Astro photography, thanks have a beautiful day😊
Hi Linda, you must make sure you are in the (P)-Mode , go to chapter 1 page 1, and you’ll see something that says (photo style) there you can pick whatever photo style you want or you could even customize them, natural, vivid, standard, and so forth each photo style has its own custom settings. @@jeffryZ I’m actually a swiss just volunteering in Tanzania for a while but still this video definitely helped! One question though: Do I automatically have my photos taken in 4K or do I need to select it every time the camera is turned on again?
Came for some info stayed because hearing you talk is very relax haha! Good video and message.
Thanks Thomson for coming aboard, my channel will be a different twist of spiritual and photography, helping you open new doors to your heart to get amazing results, I have a beautiful day. Thanks, 😇
These pics are absolutely stunning. It's great to have this video before I even get my camera (picking it up from a guy next week, second hand, but shooting stuff like this for 250 bucks seems like the best deal I'm ever gonna get).
I'll be taking it on a canoe trip to Sweden as a first test! Can't wait. I'll be sure to send you all the super crisp moose I get to shoot thanks to your settings ;)
Thanks Jeffry!
Remember casperinus try to keep the camera centered around the 4.0 aperture this is the best setting for this camera , have a beautiful trip 🌤️
Love the video, but I had a problem seeing the bottom of the screen because of your room light on it, managed to set my FZ2300 up to your settings and will try it out soon. Thank you.
Sorry about that Robert I’m currently using an older style logic tech Camera to show you guys to step on the camera and I need to upgrade it to a better camera, thanks for the great question and letting me know about that, I’m always striving to improve the sound in the looks of my videos in the most balanced way I can thanks Robert have a beautiful day :)
Thank you for the video. I adjusted setting as your camera. You are the best!
Simple and easy
1. I found that saturation on #4 is too much ,and i lowered to #2, i still believe is too much!( I viewed them on TV, it could be my TV )
Should i try on #1?
2. Do you recommend Aspect ratio 16:9 ?
I usually use this to shoot my family while traveling but I can't get best out of this camera. Can you show us best setting for shooting family, portrait or human
I am going to give your settings a try.
Yo, what settings would be best for mountain bike photography? A few quick tips would be nice, great video btw
A little coloured screen is going to pop up with a bar like Crosshair in the middle, you are going to press down on the big wheel, and that will put the coloured screen bigger in the viewfinder, push the wheel to the right, I have only gone two or three steps to adjust true colour, which is seeing through the viewfinder, you can move that bar to the right for a tiny bit more cooler picture which will give you bluer skies and more authentic, looking pictures, or you can move that bar to the left of Center for a more warmer picture, play around with that and see what you think, thanks for the good question and have a beautiful day
OK...I use AWB normally. Not sure why I would use others as I think the camera is smart enough to get the white balance correct.
Amazing pictures! Just wonder if the camera setup can be used on fz200? Thanks
Hi subscriber, I don’t have the FZ200, you can give it a try! This fz300 model came out in 2015, I cannot give you an honest answer about that particular model, all you can do is try and see what happens, have a beautiful day and thanks for the question. 😊
Thanks for these interesting settings.
I am surely give it a try.
Could you come up with something like this for photographing people/children?
That would be very helpful as well.
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 😊
Yes, taking pictures of people this is one of the subjects in the very near future, it takes a while to assess the camera in the settings over a 3 to 4 week period of intense shooting so I can give a accurate real results of what I found, I will work on this, thanks for the great questions and comments, may you have a beautiful day🌤️
I totally understand the time and effort it costs to test the camera.
In the meanwhile, I'm enjoying your videos. Learning a lot and I love your approach on every subject and your uplifting words.
Thank you for your reply, very much appreciated.
Keep up the good work! Warm regards from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 😊

Wow, the Netherlands, I wouldn’t know how to act with all that beauty around me, I would like to meet you guys by sending me a picture of a beautiful shot with your Fz300 and I’ll post it on my RUclips channel, i’m beginning to get people from all over the world, and I would like to share their beautiful pictures on my RUclips channel, just a thought😊🌤️
On the back of your camera, you’re going to see a little black button next to the rocker wheel that says”DISP” this is your display, button it has several different screens in it that you can change just from the button , a lot of that stuff will go away for you, have a super day🌤️
Thank you for helping me setting up my camera. Will try this the next opportunity I have! Greetings from Poland
How do I use the telephoto for macro like you mentioned?
Just setup my FZ300 this way. I’m ready to shoot some things tomorrow.
Have a beautiful day and enjoy PS if you have any more questions let me know.🙂
Thank you so much
Hi, I’ve had this camera for a couple of months.
It’s difficult to catch a small bird in flight and getting that high shutter speed to freeze it, its difficult let me know if that’s helped thank you and have a beautiful gorgeous day.🌤️
Thanks, I intend to use your site to help me with my camera. There are so many possibilities with this camera, I just have to get out there more.
thank you for this ❤
Thank you kimy for your positive support, may you have a beautiful day. 😇
Hi! I want to buy this camera and I want to ask you if you can shoot with the parasolar because în my country they do not sell the camera with the parasolar because they say it cannot be put on the camera. They say it is difficult to use the camera with the parasolar when you change the distance. Îs it True?
Hi Tom , I had a difficult time understanding the word parasolar , if I’m catching this, right I think you’re talking about the sunshade on the camera ? This camera absolutely comes with the sunshade. It’s an Intercal part of the camera, please let me know if this is what you’re talking about. Thanks Tom have a beautiful day.😊
@@jeffryZ hi, yes about the lena hood i am talking about. În my country the sell this camera without the hood saying that it cannot be put on.
@@jeffryZ i admire you and your channel. I watch you because I like to learn stuff about photography. So the camera could be used with the lens hood?
@@jeffryZ this week probably i shall buy this camera but în my country the do not sell it with the lens hood. So i have to buy the lens hood from amazon. Thanks for your patience
@@jeffryZ can you tell me what is the diametre of the lentile so I can buy s lens hood from Românian market.
Is there any way to avoid the Long Shutter Noise Reduction for astrophotography?
Hi James, you can go into picture profile like standard, custom, vivid, and so on, and reduced the noise reduction down to -5 that may help with your Astro photography, thanks have a beautiful day😊
I've followed all your instructions here, everything else worked, and my photo style isn't giving me the option to select it. Any suggestions?
Hi Linda, you must make sure you are in the (P)-Mode , go to chapter 1 page 1, and you’ll see something that says (photo style) there you can pick whatever photo style you want or you could even customize them, natural, vivid, standard, and so forth each photo style has its own custom settings. I hope this helps if it doesn’t make sure you contact me again thanks and have a beautiful day.🌤️
@@jeffryZ My Photo Style was grayed out no matter what I did and I realized that I had turned on an 'expressive' filter. Once I removed the filter, I was able to get to my photo style and set it up as you've done. Many thanks!
Is this just for jpeg? Can you do this if you use RAW?
Yes, you can use this for raw, I usually shoot raw plus JPEG, thanks for the great question and have a beautiful day😊
Video and sound are not the best quality. Light is shining over the screen, so that I can hardly recognize the set ups you are showing. Profi level is very far from your praxis. Sorry

@@pekaklingsir3882 , good Evening, as long as your in the ( P ) mode There is no button to push just turn the big wheel on top by your thumb that your aperture setting, if you have any more problems text me back have a beautiful Thanksgiving :)
