Marss getting better at GSP guessing is truly the character development everybody should strive for
He's subconsciously realizing everybody submitting clips plays in elite smash and then thinking surely he's going to get mixed / bad plays being submitted, and they're somehow all 3.8 3.9 mil all the same
When you think about it, to get into Elite you just simply need to be slightly better than 50% win rate and you’ll get there eventually. That effectively means you can be a 2-2’er with a little luck and get in. That made me realize Elite isn’t as prestigious as I used to think lol, and it explains why many of the clips Marss describes as bad can still be so high.
You don't even have to be a 2-2er, most of the people you beat on WiFi aren't even thinking about going to tournaments, so your 2-2s are all against other elite players
@@DoritoTime 2-2-ing is moreso to illustrate the point than to say you have to go to tournaments
Being a 2-2'er means you're well above average since 1/4th of tournament goers are 0-2'ers and half are 1-2'ers
Edit: the half includes both categories of 0-2 and 1-2
@@3barze correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t that assume a small bracket size? Like going 2-2 in a 30 man bracket vs 1000 man could still mean you’re in the majority of players who aren’t better than the average player. But for the purpose of getting Elite technically 51% win rate will get you there eventually
@@Diamond_Aura it assumes nobody gets buys yeah. (byes? Never written it out before.) And it was a bit of an exaggeration to say "well" above average.
I was the Luigi in the vid! Glad I made it in. Me and my buddy practiced the combo in training for hours and spent another like 10 hrs tryna hit it in doubles quickplay.
Marss gave us too much power by subscribing to the channel today most of us are now a smash genius and cant be kept out of 13.9 mil gsp

i destroyed a 13.9. But a guy at 13 single handedly JUMPED me and I wasnt able to move 90% of the game. Also ive been playing for like 5 months and im shit and get my ass beat with 1 win 15-20 losses in offline tournaments. If elite smash is top tier, I shouldnt be there lol

I’ve been trying so hard to get into Elite smash with DK but can’t get above 11.5 mil gsp I always lose and go back down to 9 and go back and forth :(
I main DK and have 13.9 mil GSP I could play you sometime so you could practice fighting a higher level DK so you could implement some of my strats into your own gameplay. Also if you can’t do dash attack into back air I recommend learning how to do just because it’s so useful in so many situations.

I’ve played enough elite smash to know the difference between like, 100,000 gsp off the max gsp vs the actual max gsp is insane, so I think if you do this again people should be as specific as possible with their gsp and you can try to guess if you think it’s in the upper range cuz it’s so precise there
