Thanks for the interesting cultural insight. I'd like to see more videos on various topics regarding Japanese culture. In the US it's often discouraged for people to date within the same company, since if the relationship ends it could be extremely awkward for both employees. Do Japanese companies also discourage relationships between employees? And, do Japanese parents try to introduce their sons or daughters to children of their friends, as a way to help them meet potential partners?
There's not much of restrictions in a company, I guess. And introducing is not common in Japan
it's really ridiculous. we are in 2022 and japanese still doesn't want foreigners in their lives. they don't like going in applications and they avoid foreigners in japan.
I also noticed that in some of the dating apps the pictures of the Japanese is not being shown.
Most of the Japanese people prefer not to show faces on the internet. I personally don’t mind, but sometimes it bothers me haha

It’s like japanese dating culture prioritize friends to lovers over planned hookup when it comes to serious relationships. To be honest, north american dating culture is crap even to european standards lol People be hookin up for months and saying things like “I’m not sure of our relationship, are we a couple?”They’d rather keep stalling instead of being direct and either rejecting or going exclusive with the other person and I think that’s such a bureaucratic way of dating. I’m talking specially about dating amongst younger people like mid 20s, 30s.
I think there is a good midpoint between the Japanese culture and the western cultures. The West could benefit from the respect for manners and social conservatism the Japanese exhibit while, possibly, the Japanese would enjoy the freedom one feels by being more open and approachable. I wish the educational system in the U.S. taught more about Japanese (and other Asian) culture and language. Good video….thanks.

Interesting. I've seen a few Japanese guys on dating sites. The shyness part can be confusing, maybe me as a foreigner trying to date a Japanese guy. I am shy myself, but once I know there is interest, I try to hint or become more active/assertive, especially if the guy is shy. (I don't want to be in limbo for too long) Honne and tatame is a thing too that sometimes is confusing. *sigh*
