I had a garden at my old house that was 750' away from the house and I just used garden hose. I would turn it on by the house and walk to the garden and get to the end of hose about the same time as the water. Not the best pressure but it worked. Just buy the cheapest you can find, or ask friends or family if they have any they're not using.

Have you considered inserting doweling, branches or something inserted through the chain links for the chickens to roost on? It keeps them out of the mud where they will get skin and feather conditions. Birds don't tend to hang out on the muddy ground unless they have no choice. Just an idea :)

    • @falllineridge

These are Cornish Cross chickens, really a totally different breed than most chickens. They get so fat so fast that all they really care to do is hang around on the ground. I've seen them literally laying on their bellies pecking at their food before. Butcher at 7-8 weeks of age, no real need for a roost.

Not sure, Mike. Hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks. I got sidetracked by another project.

Great video, thanks for sharing! POS look great! Getting big fast. How big are you going to let them get? You're going to need a birthing pen and a setup so she doesn't accidentally lay on her babies and kill them.
I wish you nothing but success and happiness! Your little boy is getting big. How old is he?

I'll definitely need a separate setup for farrowing. I'm a few months away from that, though. I'd like the meat pigs to be at least 250, although I might cut them off at 5-6 months. Just depends on the size at the time. My son is 4, thanks for stopping by!
