- The coins, minted on Zakynthos, with swastika's and lions heads, are poisonous and magically attract great power and utter disaster. Captain Sean Renard keeps them and starts an ambitious 'campaign against crime' amidst dreams of absolute power in Nazi style.
From Season 1 Episode 13 ‘Three Coins in a Fuchsbau' - Jeweler Sam Bertram was murdered by three European killers, of rival feral species, to steal the rarest Ancient gold coins from his safe. Two are dead, the third steals a uniform from a cop he murders. The coins are found on the elusive Farley Kolt, who is arrested and tells Nick enough to work out he was late aunt Marie's true love.

"There once was a man who lived a life so strange, it had to be true. Only he could see what no one else can-the darkness inside, the real monster within, and he's the one who must stop them. This is his calling. This is his duty. This is the life of a Grimm."

“Oh look out, they ate a baby…that’s rude”
- Monroe
😂😂😂😂
BUAHAHAHAHAHA!
That sounds like a Norm McDonald line 🤣
Hah, sausages...
Also, Monroe being a gem with "Oh look out, they ate a baby...that's rude," and "Well yeah, they're baby eatin' badasses, what more do you need to know," truly makes my day.
So while one Wesen (Schakal) is a savage the other (Steinadler) is noble. Truly inspirational!!
Jackal versus Rock Eagle
@@toomanyaccounts Which fits perfectly with their respective real life reputations.
Eagles are always found in heraldic imagery (Austria and Germany have had them in their coats of arms forever basically), and Jackals are seen as horrible, opportunistic cutthroats, calling someone a „Schakal“ is even a curse word. (I think because they were dangerous to livestock, essentially like Coyotes)
I can’t express how much I miss this show. Nick and Monroe became like brothers. And Truble, she was just so cool.
I miss the show so much :,)
Same.
Me too.
Third!!! This was and still is my favorite show to watch!!!!!!
Currently rewatching the series all over again!
Monroe totally "not" geeking out lol
As a German I can say that he practiced a lot 😂 but his German is not bad 👌🏼 actually very good! not a 10/10 but pretty understandable. But in this series there are often German words --> wesen, Zaubertrank, Doppelarmbrust, brezel, steinadler, ... really mean words for Americans 😂 and now as the two said it: "bis später alligator 👋🏼"
Wow it's great to know how much work they put into this!
May I ask, do you happen to know the *actual* translation Monroe mentions at 2:11 ? I'm intrigued at what kind of 'sausages' they mean 👀
@@ShadowCorgo oh yes, there's a lot of work involved, but that's what makes the series special. 🙏🏼 In fact, we translate it the same way as in English the word "sausages" is not a term of endearment for something specific 😅
WELL... HE IS DOING HIS BEST !
@@roypruysvdhoeven1855 yes and he is really good I told you! 🤝🏼 Nevertheless, German is difficult for English-speaking people. 😅
@@angi4681 TRUE...THOUGH GERMANY AND ENGLAND HAVE A CERTAIN COMMON HISTORY.....SAKSEN AND ANGEL SAKSEN...
There are getting ready to release a Grimm rewatch podcast soon with Bree, Bitsie and Claire ! Can't wait :D
I can’t wait to check out Grimm Podcast
The scene at the end of the episode was interesting. If you blink, you'll miss it. I recommend people watch it
Love Monroe hope and wish they make another great Grimm
Finally someone who can speak german that is understandable to germans^^
This is the first time i took a closer look at the german texts in the series. Being german myself.
While it's true that "high" german was used in the past to describe certain dialects, what's actually written here is neither.
It's modern german with some old-fashioned words worked in. And also very, very bad grammar, spelling errors, sentence without a verb, etc.
Puzzles me a bit that they went through the trouble of writing it down so beautifully without having it checked by an actual german before. XD
Eh, it's all just window dressing. This tactic is used so often in movies and series. It's all meant to look mysterious and alluring to an oblivious audience. Even though it can be seen as both absurd and insulting to those of that culture or anyone familiar with the language and can translate it.
go look up the Adam Savage Tested channel. he often gets to get a very detailed hands on examination of various props from movie and tv show such as the diary from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade or the book of the living from The Mummy. there is often insane amount of detail because the prop people love their craft for even things only shown for a few seconds
I doubt the producers in charge of these props had any idea that the fans would end up being so devoted to the series~😅
Wish they'd bring this series back ! Make more please
@Grimm I liked to suggest an idea for a clip playlist. How about a playlist featuring scenes where the cast members are researching Wesen in the books.
There is the possibility to continue the show? Why they are stopped them?
they lacked new stories.....
Well that and they never produced/created the spin-off series!
Watching these makes me depressed because i cant watch this anymore in australia 😢
The whole series is available on DVD. I've picked up a copy recently for reasonable $$$$
