My desire was always eye health, not a fashion statement. I now wear only Eagle Eye Optics (USA made) since they use the same NASA technology that protects the Astronauts' eyes via their spacesuit helmets. 🙂

When we added the car payment + insurance + maintenance, and considered the fact that we were both working from home, we decided to forgo another car note. We have not regretted our decision once. The money we save is one reason why we are able to live comfortably now that we are both retired.

Your response is spot on! Buying a 1-2-year-old car is definitely a smart strategy. You skip the steep depreciation that happens right after a car is driven off the lot, and you still get most of the benefits of a new car. Paying outright to avoid a car note is a win too-it gives you that financial freedom, letting you keep more of your money for other goals like investments or savings. That’s how you keep your finances flexible and in control!

And another advice would be to lease a car instead of buying!!! I have been leasing my cars for years! I never deal with car issues or having to get expensive extended warranties…etc. I lease my 2025 V60 and got it in 2024. I’ll have it for 3 years and then move on to the newer one with more updated features. You’d be surprised at how much I pay to lease- much less than it cost if I financed. Ppl wake up and stop buying cars that will depreciate and be outdated before you know it and you’ll have to deal with the warranty company if there are any issues! I have been dealing with Volvo for many years and love it! Only thing is you have to keep under a certain mileage (for me it’s 30,000 or so)…and u can’t use the car as a taxi or to do uber or the like…. There are other details, but it’s nothing that is difficult to achieve. And I do nearly everything that I would do to a car if it were financed- like getting my windows tinted And personalized plates.

I love the content but my anxiety acts up at the speed and tone of the presentation. It's a 20 minute video, that's more than enough time to calmly convey this same amount of info.

I worked at Luxottica you are both correct and not correct. Yes, you pay for a name but thet are made well. If you can keep them for a long time buy buying a trend proof style and not prone to losing them, they are worth the money. But only under those exceptions

Yes, I buy food that is on sale such as cheese. For instance, if Cracker Barrel is two for five, then I buy it and, of course, I eat the cheese.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention cellphones. People spend a lot of money and some even update every year. I update mine every 3 years or so (this is the third year so I’ll probably upgrade but I know others who go 5-6 years before upgrading). I always look for a slightly older model. Do you need an iPhone 16 or Samsung S25 when the previous model is likely cheaper and does pretty much the same thing.

The 2 walmarts around the corner from disney world are the busiest walmarts in the country… Which is where we buy our souvenirs as they are wayyyyy cheaper than in park stuff.

I think you meed to expand more on buying used cars in oppose to new..
Some of these luxury cars are the worse to buy used.. they're very expensive to repair and you're constantly in the shop.. put all those European cars on the list (Audi,Mercedes, BMW,land rover) you spend more time in the shop than on the road(even when new)
Go to consumer reports guide list to see the best reliable cars to buy used.. - Toyota and Honda are top of the list..
