Another big one is acrylic nails. The nail salons have become ridiculously overpriced. The regular maintenance of acrylic nails is pricey, THEN it costs money to make nails healthy again trying all the different nail strengthener & cuticle oils.

I sold Chanel and I sold Ray-Ban‘s and I sold all of those. We represented all those brands and you’re right it’s ridiculous to spend that kind of money even on eyeglasses for your reading it’s ridiculous .

@@caroldavis220 Same! I worked at LensCrafters and learned they made pretty much all glasses. I never bought designer sunglasses. Just make sure the lenses are made of polycarbonate and polarized and you’re good.
I use coupons.. but I make sure I stay within the limit. I love buying art and craft things. I am nuts about crocheting my own clothes right now.. People look forward to seeing what I come up with.. (I might spend a little bit more later to finish a project) It gives me continued joy.
I've worn sunglasses since eight grade as I read once wearing sunglasses could save my eyesight from changing sooner than it should. I always picked sunglasses that had 100% UVB/UVA protection. My desire was always eye health, not a fashion statement. I now wear only Eagle Eye Optics (USA made) since they use the same NASA technology that protects the Astronauts' eyes via their spacesuit helmets. 🙂 I look for shoes that are better for my feet's natural shape; shoes that have wide toe boxes; mimic natural bare feet and made with sustainable technology & the organization shares my values.

Another potential waste of money is more than one car per household if you both work from home or are retired. Was about to replace an older second car when my husband and I discussed this. When we added the car payment + insurance + maintenance, and considered the fact that we were both working from home, we decided to forgo another car note. We have not regretted our decision once. The money we save is one reason why we are able to live comfortably now that we are both retired.
Bonus #11 : Tools… I probably have 20k in tools… Do I use them, yes, but i’m not in the trades, i truly don’t need the newest, name brand tools, it’s definitely an “addiction “ for alot of us.

It's absolutely correct. I had 2 BMW. The 1st one, 20 years old, was hit. Purchased the 2nd one in 2006 donated it still running in 2022. Nissan Altima in 2004, kept it until 2023 and traded it in for my Pre-owned returned lease with 24,000 miles on it car currently. Hopefully, this will be my last car purchase until I help my grandson with his 1st used car.
Good advice, but I have to say as far as sunglasses go, I only buy name brand because I notice from personal experience that the quality in material and style is definitely there. I have a few pairs of Versace and one in particular I wear more! I have dropped them, bent them done so much over the years and they are still going strong! The gold emblem and hardware is still shiny and no fading in sight! If you’re like me and your insurance covers any frames up to $300, then it’s better to choose quality!

I never deal with car issues or having to get expensive extended warranties…etc. I lease my 2025 V60 and got it in 2024. I’ll have it for 3 years and then move on to the newer one with more updated features. You’d be surprised at how much I pay to lease- much less than it cost if I financed. Ppl wake up and stop buying cars that will depreciate and be outdated before you know it and you’ll have to deal with the warranty company if there are any issues! I have been dealing with Volvo for many years and love it! Only thing is you have to keep under a certain mileage (for me it’s 30,000 or so)…and u can’t use the car as a taxi or to do uber or the like…. There are other details, but it’s nothing that is difficult to achieve. And I do nearly everything that I would do to a car if it were financed- like getting my windows tinted And personalized plates.

We do this too. It's basically renting a car. We 🤞have had trouble free cars for years this way. When a car hits 50,000 miles is when the trouble starts with cars. That's about when we turn ours in for a new model. Electric has been great too. Car payment but no gas bill on top of car payment. The math does math!!
Regarding hotels- the less expensive hotels tend to include MORE for your fee - free Wi-Fi, breakfast, on-site coin laundry,sometimes pools and exercise rooms.

I use my cards and immediately pay the balance before the statement drops with a zero balance. No late fees plus the advantages of on time payments. I take advantage of loyalty programs so wifi is free. I have a travel Roku stick to watch whatever I want. I stopped buying clothes and shoes that I don't wear. I was able to fly to San Diego, NYC & D.C . for less than $100 for 2 people RT. Hotel points paid for the rooms. Keep sharing this information!!

I worked at Luxottica you are both correct and not correct. Yes, you pay for a name but thet are made well. If you can keep them for a long time buy buying a trend proof style and not prone to losing them, they are worth the money. But only under those exceptions
I’m surprised you didn’t mention cellphones. People spend a lot of money and some even update every year. I update mine every 3 years or so (this is the third year so I’ll probably upgrade but I know others who go 5-6 years before upgrading). I always look for a slightly older model. Do you need an iPhone 16 or Samsung S25 when the previous model is likely cheaper and does pretty much the same thing.
The 2 walmarts around the corner from disney world are the busiest walmarts in the country… Which is where we buy our souvenirs as they are wayyyyy cheaper than in park stuff.
I think you meed to expand more on buying used cars in oppose to new.. Some of these luxury cars are the worse to buy used.. they're very expensive to repair and you're constantly in the shop.. put all those European cars on the list (Audi,Mercedes, BMW,land rover) you spend more time in the shop than on the road(even when new) Go to consumer reports guide list to see the best reliable cars to buy used.. - Toyota and Honda are top of the list..

The 2 walmarts around the corner from disney world are the busiest walmarts in the country… Which is where we buy our souvenirs as they are wayyyyy cheaper than in park stuff.

Some of these luxury cars are the worse to buy used.. they're very expensive to repair and you're constantly in the shop.. put all those European cars on the list (Audi,Mercedes, BMW,land rover) you spend more time in the shop than on the road(even when new)
Go to consumer reports guide list to see the best reliable cars to buy used.. - Toyota and Honda are top of the list..
