    Additional stuff moved from description.
    ABOUT MAHJONG (in general)
Briefly (because the game has tons of rules and details), Mahjong is a tile-based game first developed in China in which up to 4 players play in turns, draw and discard tiles until one completes a legal hand of 14 tiles to form 4 melds and a pair, or particular special hands.
There are plenty of regional variations, this videogame obviously follows Japanese Mahjong rules and it's limited to 2 players (human player being at bottom of screen).
Scoring (note: on Jap. Mahjong) is based on how strong your hand is, and winner gets points from the opponent(s). Several factors are involved, for instance, robbing tiles discarded from opponent may reduce your score; calling Riichi ("reach", you declare that you miss one tile to complete the hand; this costs 1000 points and you won't be able to modify your hand after that) may increase your score since it exposes you to major risks; collecting Dora increases your score (A "dora indicator" is flipped from the end of the wall of tiles; its succeding tile is recognized as dora, e.g. indicator is 6-bamboo means 7-bamboo is dora); etc.
There's really lot of things that could be said, if you are interested you can check this good document mahjong-europe.org/portal/images/docs/Riichi-rules-2016-EN.pdf or eventually you can ask me in comments if it's about this replay.
    ABOUT THIS GAME
First of all, this is a typical arcade strip mahjong, so since I can't show you that, we'll lack a bit of content. Patience :/ (also I do not play this stuff for the mature content, I do simply like the mahjong itself)
In E-Jan Sakurasou, you can't win against your friendly female opponent by lowering her score to zero, you actually are forced to win three times each gal. I may make it look kids' game but trust me, as it usually is the luck factor is heavily controlled by CPU, being mean, and although there's room for your skills, that is little room.
Key to clearing this game without losing is to master the powerups, which can be bought at Item shop. A dedicated $ currency is used for them, money is won after each winning hand, being 1000$ every han, limited to 13000$ max. per hand even if you have multiple yakuman. Once you buy an item, next time its cost will be raised by 1000$. All items are used for one hand only, some of them can be carried over for future hands but still count for a single hand.
-A item (sandglass, 2000$) gives you ten seconds to *unlimited* tile switching before the game starts. A free sandglass is given when player starts a new credit.
-B item (gold fortune cat, 40.000$) (not used) changes your starting hand to something close to a special, strong hand, missing just few tiles to completion.
-C item (brush, 2000$) paints opponent's tiles so that you can see through them.
-D item (riichi ippatsu stick, 15.000$) grants you Ippatsu after you declare riichi (i.e. once you declare you're one tile away from end, your next tile will make you win). There are some limitations: the CPU can be so mean to win between you declaring riichi and putting stick on table, and you drawing next tile, in which case the powerup isn't consumed at least (this happened vs. Miyuki, second hand); the game can't let you win if there is no available tile left that allows you to win (opponent may have all of them).
-E item (roulette, 5000$) picks a random item. If the selection ends on an item you already own, or you can't use along with others (e.g. you have a fortune cat and get a different fortune cat), you would get nothing. Use with caution.
-F item (reverse clock, 20.000$) (not used) turns back time and restart the game with new hands, if CPU dares to win.
-G item (white fortune cat, 10.000$) (not used) puts a dora in your starting hand.
-H item (last chance, 3000$) (not used) will grant you a last winning chance if you and CPU end in a tie. Below three cups there's one or two winning tiles; game shows you where they are, then rapidly shuffles cups and you have to guess then where winning tile is.
-I item (black fortune cat, 25.000$) (not used) changes your starting hand so that you start with plenty of tiles of one same suit.
My game strategy is to buy both sandglass and Ippatsu stick whenever possible. Sandglass is always used on first hand, and there I try to change tiles until I get something close to a flush (hon'itsu 混一), which kinda raises up your score and it also means more money for next items shopping. Ippatsu stick instead is kept until I feel like I really need to use it.
After defeating first gal Yuriko, I didn't have enough money for both Ippatsu stick and sandglass, but roulette gave me the stick anyway. In the final Item shop occasion, I bought everything I could.
