I could have been ok with Sam having complications and needing long term care like Lulu, or even some kind of fire, explosion, or "drowning", but to kill Sam off permaniantly is just cruel of these writers. There was no reason to kill Sam like that. They could have recast, or kept Sam away while they resolved any issues with Kelly. To kill such a beloved character, who's actress was on the show for over 20 years. Terrible.

Man fuck Dante he gets to get Lulu back so him and Rocco can have they're little cringe family again at the expense of Sam dying. Dante doing all this crying today like he ain't still holding torch for Lulu. In about 6 months him and Lulu going to be back together hand and hand and Sam will be completely forgotten by him like they never was together.

Fact is the ONLY reason why Sam died was because of the behind the scene stuff with Kelly. At least they let Sam die a hero instead of off screen with very little mentioned of her death.
I hate that the writers chose to write Sam off this way too but Laura's reaction was based on seeing her grandson crying in Dantes arms and assumed it was Lulu, Rocco was crying about and truthfully she never would have or could have known it was Sam. It sucks for all Sam and Kelly Monaco fans, it really does

At 0:05 at the beginning of this clip. Laura looked dumbfounded when she realized it wasn't her daughter Lulu who died but Alexis ' daughter Sam who died. Alexis gave her a look that said shut up. Dante crying and yelling at his father Sonny at 0:24 "Sam is gone" was heartbreaking.When Alexis grabbed Dante 's face to tell him what happened was both heartbreaking and awesome at 0;34 of this clip.
I hate that they killed Sam off BUT for once THE WRITERS didn’t forget THE HISTORY OF GH by showcasing Sam’s relationship with Jason. They were each other’s IT, the ride and die couple and THE WRITERS destroyed Sam’s character and made her character into an unrecognizable character. I STOPPED watching when they broke JaSam up the last time and just went to browsing episodes on RUclips from time to time. I thank them for paying homage to at least a part of GH’s history with the clips of Jason and Sam.
Jason and Sam were a cornerstone couple across parts of multiple decades. They weren’t a “dream” match and came together in what felt like a logical way that real people might. They were a new pairing at the time and survived the “couple shuffle” that had Sonny and Carly jump to Lorenzo and Emily to Jax and Reese et al and just clicked all around. Then all of a sudden she becomes a totally different person and wants to marry her unborn child’s half brother? The writing has been awful since Francophrenia.

They totally dismantled Sam's personality, including her tenacity and bravery; including her ability to take on any challenge face first. I think they destroyed Sam's character for years because they had no idea how to write for such a strong female lead who also happened to be a mother. Then, after she agreed to pay cut they figured only firing her and killing Sam would work (sorry, no one else could play her, just like no one else could play Sonny or Jason). They failed to realize just how great Sam was as a character - fun, interesting, exciting, and terrific - which is why fans LOVE her. They failed to understand that being a mom is NOT the only thing a female can do after she has kids. They failed the fans and history of this show. Fix it folks, get KM and Sam back - get me another Cassadine's kept her alive story line and make it fast!

To watch the cast actually grief and be angry, for real, is really heartbreaking. If they bring her “twin” back or anything I will never know cause I’m not gonna watch!
