Glad you enjoyed hiking in Cyprus. For anyone else looking for 230g gas canisters with the self sealing valve, I have found them in the Superhome centre. There is one in each major town.
Thank you for the series. What a couregous, adventorous and truth seeking spirit you have to take such a journey. You are an inspiration. Greetings from Finland.
This is not only your adventure Ashley, it is also ours when watching these films. To be honest, I'm a a bit puzzled that such a content is free of charge haha. Thanks!
Well done mate your a true inspiration this journey was incredible start to finish!!!! Well documented and loved seeing all the experiences and encounters you had....Nice one Ashley 🙏👣
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Holed up here in the north of England, missing the life we both love so much, it has been both a comfort and an inspiration to share your journey, from the first beach in Spain across our wonderful continent, through so many countries and landscapes. On such a journey we are truly alive. So long as one of us walks in freedom, then freedom lives on the earth. Thank you, for carrying the torch, for your gentleness and humility and your great, underlying strength. Long may you flourish with the great trail unfolding before you. If folks in that supermarket could even begin to comprehend who worked among them.... Where to next?
Hi Paula, thanks for watching the series and for your comments... still not decided what to do next, just saving up and waiting for Covid to blow over haha. All the best, Ashley
I am looking forward to going on such an adventure on one of the E trails after my PhD. I have just spent a day binge watching the entire series and loved it. Great work!
Great to watch mate. We are holed up in Malaga, Spain and thought "this blokes ganna waak through Spain give it a go". Glad we did have enjoyed ya trek the ups and doons. Keep up the gud wurk mate.
I've jumped from Romania to Cyprus on your walk because the birthplace of Aphrodite would have been mine too if my mother hadn't emigrated to London back in the 60s lol so had to watch this! Wonderful video and journey i'll go back and watch the other stages later! atb :-)
Congratulations Ashley on the completion of your journey across 5 counties in Europe, I myself have only started the love affair of hiking & would love to do what you’ve done, some day I guess, 😊 great to see people like yourself doing this & inspiring others once again well done buddy. ✌🏻
Fantastic series, I recently went to Cyprus for a far tinier hike than yours, watched this video beforehand and it was an inspiration! And now I'm here watching it again 😅 thanks for sharing and I know how you feel about talking to the camera, feels totally unnatural 🤣
Thanks for watching mate. There's some nice hiking in Cyprus, the Troodos had a totally different feel to all the other mountain ranges I'd been through! Off to watch your Cyprus vid now 👍 cheers
Hi James, many thanks for watching and commenting! I'll be making a video in the new year about what I've been up to and what's next, but I'm hoping to do a long trek in foreign lands in Autumn 2023 and WInter 2024, though it won't be on the scale of my Europe walks. Cheers
Well done man, what an achievement! Nobody can take this away from you! By the way you should write a book about your adventure! Also, check out I think you will like: Walking the Woods and the Water: In Patrick Leigh Fermor's Footsteps from the Hook of Holland to the Golden Horn by Nick Hunt
Hey Ashley. I just finished watching your adventure. I watched all 10 parts over the last week. Very enjoyable. Well done man, a great trek and a great documentary. Do you have any plans in the future to do Alaska to Patagonia or something similar? I'm going to do some of Europe myself this summer, I may as well because as it is with Covid this summer is going to be a write off again!
Hey Stephen, thanks very much for watching! Not sure I'd do all the way from Alaska to Patagonia, but may do one of the big US trails some day... no plans at the mo though
thanks for posting this.. i was just looking for the crete walk but got wrapped up in your adventure & am now making my way through the lot.. it'd be great to see a breakdown of the gear you took and your thoughts on them. oh and are they glorify shades you had.. they seemed to hold up well
Hey, thanks very much for watching. I'll try and get a gear video done at some point cheers. I don't remember what brand the sunglasses were sorry, they were just a pair I picked up in a French supermarket after I left my pair of Sinners on a rock 🤦♂️
Dear Ashley well done on your achievement! It must have been an amazing experience. Thank you for sharing and for visiting my country Cyprus. Could you please let me know what time of the year did you hike the E4 in Cyprus? I am assuming December 2018?
Oh man, absolutely amazing adventure! It's something I wanted to do for a long time, glad I came across your channel. If you have time, could you please please tell me, roughly what you have packed with you, and maybe approximate how heavy your backpack is? My biggest problem has always been light-packing. Thanks a lot and take care!
Hi Ashley, just finished watching all of your video series, Loved every one and what an epic journey it was, well done. I wonder how many extra miles you hiked setting up the scenes of you hiking towards and away from the camera! Have you got itchy feet again and if so what are you planning? Best wishes Martin
Happily subscribing to your channel Ashley. Ive had my eye on at least the Crete part of this for a while since I saw an E4 sign on Lassithi. Are there plenty of signs and markings, or do I have to rely a lot on the available maps?
Hi Nick, I think Crete and Cyprus were both fairly well marked, although you would definitely need a good map of some sort (even if it's just OpenStreetMap which has most of the trail mapped). If you do the Cyprus section be aware that the trail still may not be officially supported any more, so marking and access may have changed. Hope this helps
I didn't have any issues in Cyprus. The only place I remember it being illegal is on the Akamas Peninsula, but I may be wrong or the rules could have changed since I was there. I made another video about the trail on Cyprus, if you haven't seen it it's here: ruclips.net/video/qhlyQN-08IE/видео.html
Hey there Ashley, im working on my Maths Classroom.Based.Assesment and its on walking across europe, if you would agree, id love to make a small interview for my work, thanks Regarda Jakub~
7:56 Yeah, camping is prohibited, sleeping in a tent is prohibited, but two-plus ton pick-up trucks are not prohibited, to make deep dents in the soil, and pollute with machine oil, gasoline and diesel... Also ATVs, dirt bikes and jeeps, are not prohibited... Greek and Bulgarian "motorheads" logic: best in the world...
Only a week since the last upload, that must be a record for me 🙃 many thanks for watching 👍
He he mate just so pleased I didn't have wait ages for this episode thank you!!!!
Lucky you the Snakes been already in Hibernation

Hello, how was wild camping in cyprus? Was it tolerated and were many people around? I'm thinking of going in March, but I'm worried its illegal
