I use the S10 all the time. Brilliant for paint spraying - sand blasting - handling chemicals - and even for cleaning up dog poo. No smells ever get through and it never fogs up.
I bought one today, it was quite pricey because it's a rare one in Hungary. But still. Worth it! :D This is one of the my favorite gas masks what ever produced!

Hello Weaponsandstuff93. Shortly ago I bought an S10 on eBay, the mask came with the filter as well, that regular all black (40mm?) filter, it is dated 11/09/2008. My question is that if it is safe to breathe through that filter, i have been afraid of trying it; I don´t want to inhale anything that might be breaking down from inside, like the (carbon?). It fits into the British army’s PRR (personal role radio). I don’t think the attachment fits other radios as I’ve never seen a connection like it before. You might be able to find a few PRR’s on the surplus market, but they’re still in service at the minute so they will probably be quite pricey

Well normal Avon filters are NATO, NATO just means the thread of the filter is NATO 40mm/RD40, it's a standardisation thing, so any NATO filter works with any NATO mask.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money (£100 plus) or look for another mask - the prices of quality masks such as this have shot up because of the coronavirus

Weaponsandstuff93 I have an S10 converted for airsoft use, I use it as part of either a 2010-2011 "Transitional" British military set when the military was transitioning from DPM and S10s to MTP and GSRs, or a Resident Evil 2 HUNK set. Surprisingly, the S10 preforms very well, breathing is easy and doesn't increase fatigue (though I use a gutted filter, so that is likely the reasoning), and fogging isn't much of an issue as it can simply be breathed out of the mask due to the nose cup.

Yep, S10 is seen as the best battlefield respirator , GSR seen as a better respirator, with its limitations in that it's very delicate, needs the insert in place in the respirator case to preserve shape and integrity. Throw the S10 about in Bethan and both the same worry.

Unsure if they are polarised but they definitely do make everything seem really bright, so you lose the ability to make out colours clearly but everything seems quite bright.

The FM12 straps might fit, I doubt the C3 ones will as different fittings.

Easiest place to find them is eBay but one I got from a car boot sale
you said colours look brighter are the lenses polarized, coz my fishing glasses are and the colours stand out awesome with them.
