The Martinelli comparison is very apt. Both players lack the technical dribbling ability to really push on and in martinellis case is probably going to be the reason he gets replaced in order for arsenal to progress further but in Garnachos I just hope he can improve on that more as he's still very young

Garnachos biggest attribute isnt one you have data on but its his mentality. He is an average to good player BUT his mentality is what sets him apart. He takes feedback constantly and applies it to his game. I remember in the academy one of the coaches said they worked with Garnacho to just cross with his left foot for a number of games and his left foot is now a strength. The thing with players with immense mentality like Garnacho is that you cant tell how far they will go. Ronaldo is the obvious example but he had tons of natural talent. The one example who I can point to as having average talent but strong mentality is vinicious junior at madrid. Fans who saw his first seasons will testify that he was horrible...but thats the thing about players with mentality...they will humble themselves and work on their weaknesses...and because of that, they are unpredictable...one season they are bad, a few months of work and they become elite. Garnachos mentality is the real thing that makes him unique...and its the thing that will set him apart. I honestly think its that mentality that is going to shock people. I agree-he will be much more valuable as a traditional right winger. However, I've seen him receive the ball on the right wing and just outside the opposing penalty area. Any quick player's instinct would be to burst past the fullback and deliver an easy low cross into the box but for whatever reason, he chose to pass it back to a CM.
He has 2 major strengths to go on top , tenacity and goal threat. If he can find a way to take down players more consistently i think he will go on top. Athletico madrid will be better option for his development
Chelsea is linked with him because from business side it makes sense. Mudryk is banned and so needs replacement, If Chelsea takes Garnacho, MU has to buy Chelsea players that currently are on sell or loan list. And I'm sure Chelsea board won't be stupid with how much they're willing to buy Garnacho as well, so they can flip it in a few seasons. Garnacho is way better than anybody gives him credit for, if he has to leave United for people to see that then so be it. I feel like I’m living in some alternate universe with how you lot rate Garnacho. The best thing about him that makes me most confident he will be world class one day is his drive to always improve and be better.
For me the issue is how he fits in this new system. I don't think he has the skillset to excel as a wide 10. I think you're gonna have more chance improving his pressing, tackling and positioning than his creativity, passing and finishing (which are the hardest to do) and as such if he stays at United it should be as a WB. His dribbling isn't technically advanced enough. He's a ball carrier more than anything. I haven't looked but I bet he's very high in progressive carries and very low in successful take-ons, which again leans towards WB, not 10. IDK why Chelsea want him, they have enough in his position now and more on the way in guys like Estevao and Kendry (edit: seems you agree, I didn't get to the end at this point). I'm not against selling him but it would have to be much more than Chelsea are offering. I think in a EtH system that actually works he could excel and his price should reflect that and if we can't get that then keep him. I'd want 80m+. That said as a football fan I'd rather he left for his own good than bounced around in the Amorim system and risk never really developing because I'd like to see what he's capable of as a LW in a very attacking side. I think Madrid would suit him well but that ship sailed and if he gets to the level where Madrid are willing to pay a fair price we shouldn't be selling him.
