Paul Henderson is a Canadian hockey hero.
He should definitely be in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
He’s a legend, scored all the critical goals and saved Canada’s reputation in our most beloved sport.
No doubt about it. He should be in, for sure!!

Yes. 10 points in 8 games during the ‘72 series. Including multiple game winning goals.
That series was more then just hockey.
Perception is reality. He is perceived as the hero that won the war to save Canada's reputation. How more important can a person be in this country. He is worthy of far more than the HOF. At a minimum let him in even if it is a new category. The goal heard around the world!
I would like to visit the HHOF someday, but I won’t go until and unless Paul Henderson is inducted.
Henderson had an unspectacular NHL career. Vladislav Tretiak had No Career in the NHL and was never signed to a pro contract. Why then is he a member in the H.H.O.F. ?
Because it's not the NHL Hall of Fame, it's the Hockey Hall of Fame which means *all* of hockey.
I feel there are MANY inductees in the HHOF that should not be there. If the HHOF had higher standards, then I would say Henderson is not among the best of the very best. However, because the HHOF has allowed many players who are just good, Paul Henderson should be included 100%.

Paul Henderson should be voted as a " Builder " into the HHOF because he fought not only for his own rights as a dedicated pro player battling injuries , but also for other players on his team !!! He is certainly a " Builder " because he built Canadian hockey with pride and positivity after his heroics in the 1972 Canada/Russia Series !!!
And Harold Ballard, convicted of fraud, is in the Hall? I was in grade 3 watching game 8 in my classroom when Henderson scored that goal. There is no more impactful hockey memory for me than that moment. Granted, the Leafs haven’t provided any for me in my conscience lifetime. Irregardless, this guy raised his game and saved our hockey souls in 1972. No question. HHOF.
Unfotunately , Henderson does not have the credentials to be in the HHOF.
1972 was an exhibition series but it was not Just an exhibition series. Only a fool would say otherwise.
Thw fact that the hall just doesnt go ahead and put these two teams in the hall is foolishness run amok!

You shouldn't get into the Hall because of one good week. No matter how good. It's about your career.
You wouldn't promote a soldier to general because of one good week. You'd get a medal.
You wouldn't promote an intern to the Board of Directors because you did one good week. You'd get a certificate.
Henderson got all the accolades he deserved and more. He's been more than rewarded.
There were 6 goals in the 8th game. All were needed to win.
I think the Hall of Fame should induct greatest moments and that's how he should go in.
