Jodiee Hart yes, usually any loud sound will make me click off. I know this is weird but since female hands always have a dainty look to them it’s sooooo relaxing, I can never watch men 😂

Yes I'm so picky it can be frustrating. Tapping is the worst for me and it seems like every ASMR artist does it in every single video! Drives me mad
Yes and unfortunately i suffer with misophonia so had to stop the video as she kept licking her fingers loudly which to me is a disgusting and enraging sound, sorry :(
I always felt like a creep watching my grandpa read the newspaper but I didn’t realise I was getting asmr out of it 😂
@Rayzon Isn’t that something else? All those yrs go by. Me, watching the neighbor wash/wax his car got me so excited 😆 & I’d sit in the living room staring at him as he slowly did his thing, 🤦🏼♀️ as I tingled away (age 9ish)..along with seeing all my teachers erase the blackboard & the sound would be so relaxing to hear. I just hoped she would write more to erase! Lol .. And of course watching my mom, whoever else, dust furniture & hearing those cleaning sounds!! Omg, 😳 I felt part freak of nature & part ... 🤔 hmm science experiment, if I let my secret out. Bwahaha. It was literally only about 10yrs ago when I was yearning for a some help from my chronic migraines. So I began searching randomly -how I wash/wax my car/this is how I clean & dust my home, etc. Low & behold I saw these titles above some of those videos with the most beautiful 4 letters A.S.M.R‼️ And then I found my people!! The rest is beautiful history! I am NOT, nor NEVER was a freak. I actually feel that I’ve been blessed actually. Having ASMR is like a natural drug. & I ❤️ It! 😮 I’m so sorry about this book 📖 I wrote! I got carried away, if you will. Ttyl ~ ✌🏻
I was just about to type something similar. I always took a seat near my mom or my sister whenever they flipped through a newspaper or a book etc. I even do it to strangers. I would pause my music or whatever I'm doing and listen to the stranger turning the pages of their book or paper without trying to look like a stalker 😅
For as long as I can remember the sounds of someone reading the newspaper was my secret 😂 I felt like a freak!

My grandparents used to read the newspaper together in the morning while I was waking up in the other room. Loved this.
And I thought I was the only one who found these sounds relaxing. Absolutely fantastic!
It’s a rainy Saturday and you’re just sitting down with your family, and your dad is reading the newspaper whilst sipping on coffee.
I'm surprised Stanley drinks coffee rather than tea. I presume both Carrie and Rachel are coffee drinkers also, whist Jo and yourself, I suspect, are probably tea drinkers.
Ahhhhh. The crinkling of the paper, the licking of the fingertips and then smoothing it out. That's what does it for me.
Who else can smell the newspaper?? Ahhhhh I just love it

Very relaxed watching this, the sound is perfect and the little touches such as moving your hands flattening the paper adds to the effect. Best page turning video I've seen by far.

The very faint crying of the seagulls is so relaxing. I imagine her in her grandmother's cottage on holiday in New Zealand sorting through all of grandma's old newspapers.
If I am on a train, or in a library, and I see an old man, I'll go and sit nearby and hope he starts reading newspapers. This will soon be a thing of the past

I love the sound of a news paper being red I used to sit there when I was little and be so relaxed listening to my nan or aunt reading a paper then doing the cross work , nothing better 😊

Best part is pressing down or running your hand on the spine of the paper. Just heaven!!!

Same here. Tapping is the worst for me. There has only been one persons tapping that I enjoyed and I think because she didn’t have nails, it was just her fingertips. I change every video that has tapping. It drives me mad.
Totally love the smoothing down of the pages. Would've loved to see TheASMRGirl enjoying, say, a cup of coffee with this one.
Also another who noticed the bird noises in this one too, quite a nice calming addition I think.
I used to love everything about the newspaper. The smells, the sounds, the way the pages felt in my hands and between my fingers.
My first remembrance of asmr (unknowingly) was the library scene from the movie "Now and Then" when they flip the pages in that giant book of newspapers.
Always thought i was not ok when I watched my mom read the junk mail..now I’m here:)

Obviously listening to newspaper sounds isn't for everyone but it always relaxes me. Same with turning pages on a catalog. I go numb and in sleep mode LMAO. Love it.

I’m still trying to find a newspaper video that turns the pages at a natural rate. When I try to sleep to these it’s way too busy, my brain just screams, “this is unnatural!!” It feels as though you’re in a serious hurry to get through a ton of pages. I can’t sleep listening to someone who sounds rushed.
While the page turning will give you tingles, turning pages for the sake of turning pages just doesn’t do it for me. Show me someone legitimately reading a newspaper to themselves (silently, and maybe with a comment or “hmm” here and there) and I will be off to sleep in no time. Search Japanese Newspaper and check that out, that has been the most reliable sleep aid I’ve ever found.
I never realised how big newspapers where made in other countries. They are absolutely huge

I first realised I was into this stuff while watching Frasier, Niles was flicking through his note book for a few pages, I played it back a few times and then looked for similar sound effects to no avail.
Then watched Belinder cutting up various insulation blocks and loads of people commented and that's when I first saw the initials ASMR.

Way better than the made up faces, nails moving lips to whisper and seduce the crap out of viewers. I had a bad idea about asmr before this.
Not all people can get this certain feeling from asmr like that, isn't that okay to respect each other tastes?
@@nabrworsdreod5730 I think it's more the fact that are legitimately some ASMRtists out there that are specifically trying to seduce/arouse viewers. There's literally videos of women sucking and licking cucumbers. It kinda paints the idea that any and all ASMR, including normal relaxing ones like this, is all meant to be foreplay, like making some kind of softcore audio porn. I honestly don't get how those very obviously sexual ones, haven't been removed by the system yet

Now THIS is asmr. The more realistic and believable the task that the person is doing is while also highlighting the asmr aspects of said task, the better quality the asmr is. May be a run on sentence there, but I’m sure everyone knows what I’m talking about 😂. Also, this is the exact situation I encountered as a young kid that made me realize later on that I enjoyed asmr.
