I am 64 and have worn makeup since I was 15. I wore Estee Lauder from age 20 to 35. I have been wearing bareminerals since 2007. I still love it. I have included 3 different foundations that are high-end. I just wear makeup when I want to and sometimes not. I would never leave my house without makeup until covid but masks for 2 years changed that. I love my makeup collection. Love your channel ❤️
I didn’t know Estée Lauder double wear wasn’t cruelty free. I only just started using it so will not buy it again now that you showed me another comparable one. No reason to not be cruelty free in this day and age AND it’s a foundation that’s been around forever so the cruelty crap is inexcusable period. Thankyou for your diligence showing us new products and their performances :)
I’m very grateful for your content, Risa! I’m 50 and have very oily skin with large pores. My area is hot and humid most of the time. So thanks for the foundation comparison! The wear test is very informative. I only have one foundation product and that’s the Double Wear.. Would like to see the comparison between the Estée Lauder Double Wear and the new Dior stick foundation (Forever Skin Perfect).😊❤
I’ll be 62 this month and I’ve never wore foundation. I always use the DRMTLGY skin tint with SPF. No matter what foundation I’ve tried to use looks horrible on me and shows wrinkles. I still clicked on this video because I love ALL your videos ❤
Thank you for not using filters and for letting us know. It just lets me know that I can actually trust what I’m seeing in the video. Filters are a huge problem when it comes to makeup channels, IMO. I want to know what the makeup REALLY looks like.
For everyone who purchases the one side foundation- you HAVE to shake it first! There is a technology in there that activates by shaking it up so make sure you thump it on your hand a bunch before pumping it out! It will work it’s magic!
I formerly was a very oily skinned girlie. Around age 54, after Breast Cancer Wars started, my skin became only oily t-zone. By age 57, I dried up a little more. Now at age 66, though my friends and husband say I look "very good for my age", I feel I need a medium to full coverage glam foundation for special occasions, and, a medium foundation for most days. My dilema is that I have some lines on the ridge of my cheekbones that collect product. If it's too drying ,I look like the crypt keeper, if it's too glowy, I don't get enough coverage. The struggle is real! Btw, I too am a Pro Mua, with close to 40 years experience. I stopped working due to medication side effects on my hands. (neuropathy) I can't find a foundation that provides BOTH FULL COVERAGE WHEN NEEDED, and is not so drying! Risa, I have so much respect for your opinion, which one should I try next. Btw, I love Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk, but it IS very expensive. I await any of your suggestions. You do look absolutely stunning, RISA!🎉
Im 50 with dry skin. I finally found a way to make Double Wear work (super hydrating skin prep) even though it's a matte finish. The color match, viscosity and wear are unrivaled. I just threw away a 3/4 bottle of KVD this morning. Although it was dewy, it was so thick in application and I looked like I was wearing a mask. It hurt to dispose of it. Thank you for your review. Both were pretty even so I will stick with Double Wear. Love you!!!

ELDW is the holy grail of holy grails. And you can always find it for 50% off at The Cosmetics Company Store and occasionally during the Ulta sales. It's hard to beat that! However, now I'm curious and may have to get a sample of the One Size! Great video, Risa!
I have worn ELDW for years and have the perfect shade. The fact that OS pulls yellow will probably keep me from trying it. Also I have a backup for the Double Wear. Thanks for the video.
Risa, I absolutely love how you help us make our own decisions by demonstrating products! You have helped me find my holy grails over the years I've been watching! Love you and your videos..always!❤😊
Risa, you are my favorite makeup artist 😍! I watched this video all the way through and I'm a super dry skinned gal post-menopausal. Cheers from central FL!🎉
Same here. Dry skin girl and foundations that work for her are an absolute fail for me most of the time but I always love watching her content. Thanks for this comparison, I was curious how they compared.
I was so excited to see you post this video that I actually squealed in delight! Thank you for this test. The ET has been my holy grail foundation for quite a while, but I'm always open to something better, and I trust you judgement and advice.
I am a convert and I am loving the One Size foundation, I have stopped using my ELDW and OS held up so much better and blurred my skin competely. Thanks Risa for a wonderful review xo PatrickStarrr really nailed it with this foundation!!!!
Thank for this video. I am 55 and very oily skin like you. ELDW foundation is my absolute favorite. I've tried Hour Glass Ambient, Clinique serum foundation, drug store bands like Revlon, Maybelline and Wet-N-Wild. Nothing was better than ELDW for me. Having said that, I would definitely give this one a try. It looked basically the same on both sides of your face. The difference in price is not that huge especially when you can get ELDW for 50% off when Ulta and/or Sephora have a sale. I usually stock up. Anyhoo, thanks again for this video and all you do. ❤
I just ordered the O/S as I saw another creator sheer it out with the sponge and really liked it. I’ve never been able to figure out a good shade match with the ELDW and even if I use a minimum amount it “slides around my face”. I guess I’ll see how the O/S works when it arrives. Thanks for the review.
ELDW is still my favorite all around foundation. I can wear it full on for going out but mix with my sunscreen or moisturizer for everyday. I think I may give the one size a try when I run out of double wear just to see the difference on my skin. Thanks for this review.
I have been waiting for you to review O/S before I purchased it. Looks beautiful on you. What is your pink lipstick combo? Gorgeous color. Love your videos….
Hi Risa love your videos so much! Your content is always fresh and helpful! I bought a pump on Amazon to use with my Estee Lauder Double wear. It makes it so much easier. 😍
Yep! I have bought a few from Amazon too, I just didn’t have one in the shade I use for this video. I’ll never understand why they don’t just include a pump, especially at $52! Even MAC added one when they reformulated their studio fix fluid.
I’ve been using double wear for years and love it. I wouldn’t mind trying the O/S just to see the difference but DW is my go to foundation. This was a great face off Risa. ❤
Loved this review, and also that you used the Merit primer and it seemed to work so well on our shared skin type!! I have been very interested in it as well!!
I didn’t watch the video yet but I just want to say I get the Estée Lauder Longwear foundation when I go to the Caribbean. It’s waterproof so I mix it it with the neutrogena sunscreen serum spf 60 or 70, whichever, and it stays on all day and protects my skin from the sun. I like mixing things as a rule but this mixture is a powerhouse
Mixing your sunscreen with other products (foundation or moisturizer) dilutes it! You are no longer getting sunscreen protection. It isn’t as if you’re then getting a smaller SPF factor (say 60, down to 30), but you’re getting very little SPF because the SPF ingredients are spread thinly. So tiny spots on your face, all over, have no SPF. Layer them instead.
Funny, I thought the pore looked bigger on the One Size side. Regardless, it was an excellent video. What I would LOVE to see is a "then and now Series'. Where you look at your favorite products from 1,2 or 3 years ago and update us on what they are now. I know the double wear has been a fav for years but it would be refreshing to see what other products stood the test of time and which did not & why.
Thank you for your content for those of us who have mature skin but are still very oily! 55 here and ELDW is and always has been my holy grail. It is certainly not for a lack of trying soooo many other foundations. I also love the Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte (it has my absolute perfect medium with cool pink undertones shade match), however it breaks down after a couple of hours on my oily skin. I'm going try mixing the two to see if I can get the Givenchy one to last a bit longer since I like the color slightly better. Always love your videos!❤
I will definitely try to one size due to it being CF. I always wanted to try the double wear but wouldn’t buy it for that reason. Fantastic video. Thank you 🥰
Aloha Risa. I found this video very helpful. As a gal with combo skin who lives in a very humid climate, I am always on the hunt for a foundation like this. I will definitely check this one size out!
Hi Risa, great video. ❤ I've been wearing double wear since it came out, It's the only foundation I found my perfect shade match in. I have a cool undertone and I looked at new foundation formulas at Sephora and ulta but haven't been able to find ones that aren't yellow no matter how much they cost. I will take a look at this one size foundation and see if I can find a shade to try though. Also I noticed no one ever mentions The double wear sheer, it is very light, and it gives me pretty good coverage without looking heavy at age 58. I was upset when they discontinued double Wear light but have grown to like the new sheer version. I am still buying the original DW of course! I like the fact that I can share out the original as well.
Risa, both looked exceptionally good on your skin .. you couldn’t really differentiate between the two… & saying that the ELDW is a tried & tested product of many years, & the O/S is a relatively new product … it goes to show that ELDW must have been well “ahead of it’s time” .. Thanksgiving you so much for the comparison video, your content is always “spot on” & unbiased… BTW you’re looking gorgeous as always … 😊😘
Hi Risa, thanks for this video. I used ELDW for years and it was my perfect foundation. However now I am retired & spend more time outdoors my skin contains more yellow and the ELDW all run pink & now I can't find a good colour match now so perhaps the One Size would work for me. It would be hard to beat my current favourite foundation and that is MUF HD Skin. It has a lighter consistency, not so matt and I have found my perfect shade. I have normal skin. I love all your videos. Thanks for putting in your time to help us out.
I know, my oils still come through here in the UK with rubbish weather for most of the year, so I can’t imagine what it would be like in extreme hot and humid weather! I love the one size full beat foundation as I have a good shade match, lasts all day on my mature oily skin, plus I can cover all my hyperpigmentation and sun spots, its amazing! Never tried the Estée Lauder and never will 😂
I have double wear already and love it. Not sure I need to purchase another foundation so similar. Like you I find myself reaching for products that are not so full coverage. I think I’ll pass on this one. Thanks for the info risa.
I am 39 with oily skin and double wear has been my go to for several years. I have 8 hr work days so I need my foundation to last around 10 hrs to cover my shift and the commute. I have yellow undertones and found a perfect shade match in one size. I have to mix shades in Estée Lauder and the match is still not exact. Based in my wear test, I will be making the shift to one size because of the shade and the price.
Hi Risa. ELDW is my go to. What is the dior corrector you mentioned? Is it a concealer or used to color correct then conceal? Also what are the 2 lip combos you have on here at the 2 hour check in and the next day filming? Love them both. Thanks ❤😊
ELDW has been the only foundation that stays on my face for almost 30 years…I’m 63… Every time an influencer says they found a dupe foundation or just as good as ELDW I’ve ran out and gotten it, wasted so much money….. maybe I will try the OS . I’d love to find something else that works…I have broken capillaries that are extremely hard to cover… any hints on how to cover so they don’t break through?
Super duper oily at 70, still! From this video, I’d veer towards best shade match. I never could get a good shade match from the Estée Lauder so I’d have to take a look at the One Size. Thanks Risa for another very useful video
ELDW is my most purchased foundation but I'd love to go for something lighter. I like loreal fresh wear, but haven't found a hg for myself at this age yet. Finding it so much harder to get my skin looking nice over 50
Hi Risa another variable that might make a difference is shade match (as someone who always struggles to find a decent match in any brand 😂). I would never buy either as someone who has extremely dry skin 😂 - a sample of double wear made me look like the crypt keeper and gave me lines I never knew I had😂. I just tried it for something longwear and tried various hydrating products underneath, but still a no for me (apart from mixing into moisturiser as a tinted moisturiser 😂which it was nice for). It is supposed to work for everyone but as with anything that’s not really true in my experience. It continues to be one of the most repurchased foundations for a reason and has stood the test of time due to how many people who love it. Best wishes x
I've never worn Estee Lauder Double Wear, although I've heard rave reviews. If this is more for those with oily skin, I don't feel the need to explore. I'm normal to dry these days. I do appreciate the review, though, Risa!
I used MAC Soar lip liner, then a touch of the cream blush from the new Patrick Ta Barbie collection topped with the hot pink gloss from the same collection.
Hi Risa! I really like Turn Up The Base foundation!!! I use to be really dry skinned!! Since I have been using Serovital I have combination skin. You should really try the Serovital!! I feel so good and, have a ton of energy!!! My makeup looks so good since taking the Serovital so I thought id share that with you!!!
Thank you Risa for your video! Unfortunately, I am allergic to ELDW. I tried clarins in 103N and found it leaned more yellow for a neutral shade as you mentioned. I now am trying Teint Idole or tower 28. What are your thoughts on an exceptional tinted moisturizer for no make up make up days and a medium to full coverage make up for make up days. thank you and love your channel Stacie
Risa, now that you have done the foundation comparison of the century, I hope (pray) you are working on a comparison of City Beauty vs Dermatalogica eye lift products. All 4 products are so pricy. And of course, one of the City Beauty is sold out on Amazon. Thanks a million!
Have you tried Kylie Jenners foundation? Its the only thing that doesn't separate on my nose esp the mouth. You know how we get so oily around the nose fold? At the most you will see the oil peeking though but it doesnt budge. Doesnt show my pores! I can touch my nose and doesn't rub off. Its insane. Its 36 bucks! Concealers are great too! Can you review it? They have color correcters in the entire line. I put it on women with mild to medium hyperpigmentation and it takes it all away!
Hi! I really want to try it! It sounds great. To be honest I am hesitant to review/promote a Kylie product or anything associated with the Kardashian/Jenners because I tend to get a lot of nasty comments when I do. 😕
@RisaDoesMakeup Yeah, I hate that family but you need to try it. You can just get a sample at Macys or Nordstrom? It smooths out my texture, and I don't use a primer. I break out easily from them. Makes my texture and acne prone skin so smooth. I've seen it on my friend and she sells Lancome. She loves it too! Just put a disclaimer you are not pro Kylie or whatever but you were highly recommended to try it by an oily skin follower. You will LOVE it. I have the concealers too! Wonderful. If you tell your audience it has Korean Skincare that may subdue the angry comments? I already read her ingredients she does use Korean Skincare in her products. Not all. I love the Clarifying Gel face wash. It's completely clear and takes off all my makeup off so quickly and no rubbing. When I worked at Macys this lady came in and said her Derm recommend her Face Moisturizer for someone with Lupus! And her butter lip balm was in a magazine for Healthy Beauty Awards. Her stuff is good and inexpensive.
Hiya! One recommendation since your foundation boxes to be checked seem to be similar to my own, longwearing, and increasingly more sheer coverage, and BONUS! It's relatively affordable, especially compared to the two high end foundations featured in this video. Honestly, one of my go-to's foundation-wise is Loreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear, which I wouldnt necessarily dub a dupe for Double Wear but definitely feel its in a sort of class or category with it, along with the About Face foundation, Revlon Colorstay and your (well, OUR favorite) MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Also I'm assuming that because youre a beauty content creator and thus have a huge selection of complexion products, maybe you've left it in a drawer somewhere and forgotten what an amazing drugstore formulation it is. I have very oily,to the point of still occasionally being acne-prone still at 44....large pores, texture....my point here being that one of many reasons I'm such a devoted follower of yours is because we have similar skin types and aren't even too dissimilar in skin depth and undertone. So I feel like I can confidently recommend that you locate your bottle of Loreal Infallible (provided you have one of course) and give it another try. I'd recommend it over a primer maybe not quite as intense as One Size Oil Sucker or L'oreal Pro Matte but instead, something along the lines of the Revlon Colorstay Grip primer, Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm No Filter, or even ELF liquid poreless putty primer would be nicely suitable. P.S. My own beauty content channel here on RUclips is probably slated for launch in the upcoming month.....I wondered if maybe you noticed Im developing a bit of "beauty influencer" tongue (LOL!)...so if you decide to try what I recommended and love the results like I think you will, please let me know! Love you Risa, keep on killing it for us mature beauties! xoxo Jen
I want to try the one size but the co!or matchup has been a struggle. Would love your thoughts on one size vs. lancome teint idole which is my holy grail
I always try everything else, right now loving the Dior stick, but I always have double wear backup and typically return to it. I haven’t seen it look bad on anyone so I am biased. No, I probably won’t use O/S. Great face off though
I never wore Double Wear because I wore Teint Idole when I wanted full coverage. After the reformulation though they didn’t have a good color for me and it didn’t seem to wear as well. I’ve been wearing the Laura Mercier Real Flawless.
Both look beautiful on you. I'm 74 with normal to dry skin. The One Size looked horrible on my skin. My pores and texture were accentuated and the foundation looked very heavy. 😔

Never tried the Estée Lauder and never will 😂
I am a big fan of the Estee Lauder double wear I may consider the o/s now that I’ve seen it on you 😊
I have double wear already and love it. Not sure I need to purchase another foundation so similar. Like you I find myself reaching for products that are not so full coverage. I think I’ll pass on this one. Thanks for the info risa.
Hi Risa,
Thanks so much for the great video.
What other makeup do you have on? I love the whole look, but especially the lip combo
Love the black top you wear at the end of the video. Do you mind sharing where it can be purchased at? Thank you ☺️
Hi! The link is in the description box. 😃
@@RisaDoesMakeup thank you so much! 🥰
Love your content Risa! You are my fav! About the foundation, the only thing about EL is that the bottles/tubes in the EL foundations, get messy
For EL double wear, I ordered pumps from Amazon to eliminate mess.
Hi Risa. ELDW is my go to. What is the dior corrector you mentioned? Is it a concealer or used to color correct then conceal? Also what are the 2 lip combos you have on here at the 2 hour check in and the next day filming? Love them both. Thanks ❤😊
Picking up the One Size!
I used to manage the lauder counter at Nordstrom, NJ
Risa, your lip combo @12:26 was pretty when you had your makeup put together. I love pinky nude lip colors. What did you use? Thanks!
Super duper oily at 70, still! From this video, I’d veer towards best shade match. I never could get a good shade match from the Estée Lauder so I’d have to take a look at the One Size. Thanks Risa for another very useful video
Omg 😮😮how can u be still sooo oily at 70!!???
@ 71 now 😂
@@lisanutini5183 omg but how!?? How is ur skin still oily!,!!???
What cambo do you have on your lips? I love it😊
ELDW is my most purchased foundation but I'd love to go for something lighter.
I totally agree! Shade match absolutely makes a difference! Especially if you choose one that’s too light, it throws everything off.
I have double wear but need to re purchase. However, maybe I'll get the onesize instead to try. Im also in Vegas.
I've never worn Estee Lauder Double Wear, although I've heard rave reviews. If this is more for those with oily skin, I don't feel the need to explore. I'm normal to dry these days. I do appreciate the review, though, Risa!
Can you tell me what lip products you have used for this final thoughts video as perfect for an outfit I have . Thank you ❤
I used MAC Soar lip liner, then a touch of the cream blush from the new Patrick Ta Barbie collection topped with the hot pink gloss from the same collection.
Thanks great review 💖💖💖
Ty Risa! OS is calling me (in Chgo)😅I would need to swatch in store so maybe at the Sephora Savings event! So helpful!!❤❤❤
Thank you ❤❤❤
What blush are you wearing at the end? That look is gorgeous!
Thank you! It’s from the new Patrick Ta Barbie Collection.
Thank you very informative 🙂
I was thinking on how they compare haha thank you
Risa I ordered pumps from Amazon for EL double wear foundation.
Risa has a new lip combo , this is not her usual neutral 😄 I will go for the O/S , 🥰
Nw25 MAC Studio fix changed its formula - so sad.. I mixed it w a moisturizer.. 😢
Love your top
Hi risa I find the estee lauder is too dry maybe its my skin but I don't like it lancome works for me ❤
I am interested in the One size. How would it perform on dry skin?
I can’t say with certainty because it’s not my skin type, but I wouldn’t think this would be the best choice for someone with dry or very dry skin.
Great video thank you ❤
Excellent video, OMG ❤
Thanks for the excellent review. I am going to try it. I'm probably the only person in the world😂 that don't have a shade match in ELDW!
You’re not! There’s a reason I have 4 bottles of different shades. I have always had to mix them to get a perfect match.
@@RisaDoesMakeup aww yes, I remember you mentioning that in the video!
Double Wear never worked for me. I was still oily as ever. It looked nice on my skin though. I might try the One Size.
Both look beautiful on you. I'm 74 with normal to dry skin. The One Size looked horrible on my skin. My pores and texture were accentuated and the foundation looked very heavy. 😔
