Great video. Convinced me to pick one up second hand for $50 and it immediately improved my wifi. The 12 sonos speaker around the house were having a real impact. Thank you.
legend.. just picked on up! Had the bridge before and had no problems. But with the new gen of speakers, drop outs are crazy and my speeds are down! this is crucial!
Holy crap, thank you for telling me!!! I’ve been having some issues due to the multipoint “sucking” of my router. Great vid, you’re a very pleasant person.
Good video. Just FYI, I was furious about my Sonos products acting up in the past few months. I've had my units for almost 7 years now. Anyways after I spoke to technical support and they recommended the Boost, I asked him to connect me to sales directly. I asked and received a 15% discount for having to spend more money on a product that was working for many years. In any case, maybe it'll come in handy for some others that need to do the same.
Thanks.. I wondered why my wifi speed has dropped. My Sonos surrounds sound quite intermittent at times, so I’ll buy the boost even if it is overpriced to see if it helps.
Thanks so much for very clear, informative video. Brief set up steps that came with Boost were pretty-well basic. App steps were also clear as mud. OK so I only got it yesterday but I really like to get stuff up and running asap. You've made that possible in just 8 minutes. Brilliant. Living between mountains in North Wales our speeds are a joke. So now raring to go to get this thing up and running and get some pressure off the system. Thank you again.
What an amazing video. Thank you so much for putting it together, I love videos that are so easy to understood and interactive not annoying whatsoever and does not make you feel stupid because of terminology used thank you. Thank you very very much.!!!!!
Once it sets up a separate WIFI network, can I access all my wired speakers on my main WIFI and the wireless speakers in the new sonos network or do I have to switch between the networks?
Hi! Thank you very much for reviewing Sonos boost. As far as you are using Sonos system, may I know what the best router for Sonos is? As you said that the Sonos speakers will automatically connect to your router so that we don’t need Sonos boost.
Thank you for this video. I love the promise of Sonos but I'm annoyed with how complicated it really is. Your video helped me better understand how Sonos is actually working (and explains my sound drops).
David Favero yeah Sonos should have built this tech into their existing products. Not sure why but when using audio in almost everyone experiences drop outs without the boost which is a huge miss on Sonos part.
I just bought this boost and I can see it is connected in my Sonos app, but I’m not sure that my Sonos speakers are connected to the boost, how can I check that it’s connected? Can you help?
You can always just plug a single sonos device into ethernet and setup sonos net that way. only need this if a single ethernet connection not possible.
Great review Vinyl for Miles. I rate my Sonos speakers too but the decision makers at Sonos keep giving me grief. 2-3 years ago I buy a playbar + sub. An absolutely sweet set up! Then a year later a systems upgrade on the sonos app makes the ipad I was using as the volume/settings and spotify control obsolete. Customers on their help forum ask for stand alone software to make their 5 year old ipads still usable; Sonos respond with a sorry but nope and move on, as cold as that.. So now I use my laptop to run my Sonos and music software - no train smash here. Then just recently i'm thinking the subs a bit quieter than the norm and on closer inspection, its still connected but there's no sound. So after digging around a bit on the net, reading help forums and busting a whole stack of time rebooting yada yada, I've sussed out that my network/playbar now doesn't support my sub anymore, and that Sonos have now made it a thing during a systems upgrade that we now have to buy an overpriced booster to make everything sweet again. So yes, I will buy the "over priced" booster because i have no choice but Sonos needs to remember what happened to another brand that had a quality product and a loyal fan base but over played their worth with trapping people into their product. People get pissed off and go with android!
Hi, thanks so much for this video. I have a question, will the sonos boost work the same if I don't have the internet router together in the same room? My router is in my kitchen, and my Sonos sound system is in my basement.
Super helpful video. I'm currently having the same issues with my play 1 speakers and debating if the boost is the answer.. Do you think the boost would still be effective if the router and therefore the connected boost is in a basement trying to connect to speakers on the floor above it?
I’m not finding the place to check and make sure the Sonos speakers are connected to the boost? Maybe an update since this video has moved it? Can anyone point me to where to find this info?
Is your line-in set to Automatic, Uncompressed, or Compressed? Mine was set to automatic, but was experiencing drop-outs using Sonos Port and my turntable. Compressed eliminates that issue, but of course I don’t want to actually compress the sound quality if possible. Got the Boost. Still having drop-outs on Automatic and Uncompressed. Maybe I’ll give Sonos a call.
Change your line level input level. I had mine higher to get more volume but in turn that adds buffering time. Either way SONOS needs to fix this. For the amount they charge for their products this should have been fixed years ago.
Vinyl for Miles It’s already set to level 2, which was the default. Hopefully they can figure this out with me. I don’t think there’s any good reason why I should be experiencing dropouts with the Boost setup.
@@TakeAToor Ah man then something must be up. Copy the diagnostic code and send to Sonos. I've heard a-lot of complaints with turntable's audio dropping out. They should really fix it since they market to TT owners.

Hallo, I've got a modem in the garage from which ethernet cables go troughout the house. In the house I have two Apple routers for my wifi, plugged in the wall for ethernet from the modem. Do I put the ethernet cable from the boost in the wall or in one of the Apple Wifi routers? Thanks in advance!
Hey man, great video! I just got a question, if you don’t mind. So I bought the Sonos boost and set it up. However, when I go to my Sonos app, my boost is in a different room apart from my playbar and sub, which are altogether in the same room. Is this ok?? Or all the products, including the boost, should be in the same room? Thanks
So do you find the boost works better than just plugging your router into one of the speakers to create "sonosnet"? I'm doing that now but still experiencing occasional drop offs. I read somewhere with a boost coverage increases to 90 ft from the normal 60 ft. Great video by the way. Thanks..
Hello. Great video! Question: will adding the boost in any way change how I see/connect to my speakers? For example, could I group them all together into a master speaker so I can tap one speaker in my control center (iOS airplay) and connect to them all at once? Thank you
I had a Sonos bridge on my system, upgraded to S2 and it had to be removed. Now my Sonos drops out all the time even though they're well within range, and I have to spend $130 on buying the Boost. Sonos should have had the "it ain't broke, don't fix it" motto.

Is it worth it? My system wouldn’t work for crap without it
100% sonos should include this with any speaker over $400
Sonos is overpriced, no DTS support. I hope a solution to compete with the boost would be available.
Yeah they are pricey AF. Especially after the move came out :/
@@Music-for-Miles it’s like paying for apple products; you get poor specs at a higher price.
You set it up wrong
How so?
Sonos kills my network
Did you really buy Sonos just to look at the packaging I am being sarcastic?😂😂😂
Best thing you can do is junk your sonos system for something better jBL
Sonos really messed up their ecosystem with the last few updates. Idiotic to say the least
The worst Product ever
Worthless review.
