- Security personnel and high tech vehicles of the Secret Service arrive in the UK, in preparation of President Biden attending the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral.
The US Secret Service, along with White House staff, arrived aboard two C-17 Globemasters with the US Air Force at RAF Mildenhall.
Several vehicles used in Joe Biden's security motorcade were also unloaded, and escorted away by police. Elsewhere, other resources were preparing for the Presidential arrival.

To think about the enormous about of logistics and detailing that was put into this short visit is mind blowing. Look at those gigantic us Air Force jets. Incredible stuff.
It was an incredible challenge in terms of security. Thankfully, it all passed off OK. Major respect to our (the UK) security forces, and the way they liaised with those of other countries.

They do try to not make a huge fanfare when it comes to support. For instance, US Secret Service all use rental cars and so does the AF1 teams. There is literally no rentals to be had anywhere London right now either. I welcome your comments or reply to learn more. While UK and US are western culture I will say that it appears People in UK or more sensible and hmmm shall I say quieter about life. And while the US people are very friendly, we are also loud and dramatic. At least these are the Stereotypes

As recently as 1991 the IRA launched an artillery attack against the PM in central London with shells damaging and Downing Street and injuring police. King Charles was also almost shot at point blank range too. I think the US has a lot more paranoia in security arrangements. It’s quite wasteful considering safety could be maintained at the fraction of the cost and resources.

Well of course there is a big difference in them cause the queen hasn't had any attempted Assassinations, our Presidents have many times and sadly our country has had multiple successful Assassinations in the past so we can't take things lightly anymore , we have a dozen armored vehicles and a lot of protection agents for a reason.

Each and every time I see these huge planes it just keeps me so amazed that these things get off the ground and in the air even though I very well know why. Just think about the incredible amount of weight / freight is in the airplane and then add fuel to that, the weight of the airplane itself, etc. just fantastic I think.
It's a marvel for sure watching something so big and heavy just levitate off into the sky. By comparison we can only jump a feet or two ourselves!

When I use to go to school in the UK; I was at a school near the RAF Northolt base. I remember being outside and seeing like 8 jets land back to back, so close you could see the little American flags on the wings.

I am so proud of our security men and women around our US President - Joe Biden. I watched this video in all the details and with tears of joy felt so proud as an American. Thank you America on how you show up in another country and you are respected.
At least one of Your Security men was very rude to the young man who was receiving the guests very politely as an all English gentleman. The american yelled at him from a distance “Hey” like saying “Do not touch this car”. It was just horrible and just in front of the Church door. And Biden very shameful arrived late, leaving everybody waiting since “he was not going to be busing to the church”, which was another shame on him. I saw arriving by luxury buses, older men, one man using forearm cranes and a third one in a wheel chair. Just Biden felt he is better than everyone else. Shame, Shame on Americans.
Sad as the Queen's death is, this is a good history lesson for the kids all over the world. Even as an adult, there are lessons to be learnt about the security that goes into diplomatic travel.
You would be surprised how many people in America absolutely love the queen. While we may not be steeped in the rich history people got quiet. I taught my Grand-Daughter at 5/6/7/8. I have a list of people from around the world you need to know to about.

The funeral today was difficult to watch but to see so many world leaders there and so many people lining the streets to see Her Magesty's coffin go by was very moving. Amazing aircraft. I took my grandson to an air show at Dover A.F.B (Delaware) many years ago. They had one on display and you could walk inside.

Yes these are big. My Nephew is a C-17 co-pilot for the US Airforce stationed in Georgia. However, the C-5 Galaxy is much more bigger.
The C-17 can carry 3 blackhawk helicopters (albeit you have to take the Rotors off)
