  • Create Your Own Male Superhero With Tom Bancroft in this FREE Tutorial!
After a brief introduction, I’ll give you some things to think about before you start to create your male superhero. I’ll start off by showing you how to create rough sketches of a normal proportion male, and then briefly discuss the differences in proportion to the superhero body type. I’ll outline my idea of the “lightbulb” that I use to show you how to build the core of the body and explain how this can be manipulated to create different body positions.
Next, you’ll learn a number of different superhero body types, from a slim “flash” type character up to a muscular suerohero type. You’ll learn how to use different shapes to create these body types. I’ll show you how to select a particular body type and start to work with that to create a final design.
You’ll also learn about movement and different types of dynamic posing, as well as making sure the silhouette of your character is exciting. I’ll also briefly discuss things like clothing and accessories and some important things to keep in mind when you add them to your character. Finally, you’ll learn how to take your final character and create some clean lines helping you to prepare your character for photoshop and colouring.
In this FREE stand alone lesson from 21Draw, you'll learn the basics of how to create and design an animation style male superhero character using traditional media. With the AMAZINGLY talented Disney Artist Tom Bancroft!!!
    Your Disney Artist Instructor:

I got introduced to Tom's art work through 21 draw books and got hooked to his way of style. I have ordered his two books 'Creating characters with personality' & 'Character Mentors' and I believe these books helped me learn more about personality in characters. @21draw can't wait for more videos like this one

Great video and tips by Tom. Came to the comments to see if anyone else commented on the music. It stopped at 24:20 and for a moment I felt a strong sense of relief, and then it quickly went away as the droning piano started up again.

    tuntuntun tuntuntuntuntutututun!
Im surprised no one is being at least slightly annoyed by the background music. Everytime I hear the loop ending I pray for it to stop forever but no! This goes for whole hour!
Very informative video nevertheless, could be worse and Tom is awesome, but I think this melody is now carved into my brain from the amount of times it played in this video alone.
