First off, I am a singer by trade. Arnel is absolutely one of the best vocalists I have ever heard. Being able to keep the sound of this band in tact is a huge achievement in itself. People are so judgmental!!! Thank you to all who actually understand the major undertaking of coming in and doing the amazing job that Arnel is doing. Dean C is also due respect for keeping the integrity of the band in tact. He is also an amazing vocalist. I am glad he is singing as well. Dean and Arnel have an impressive blend. Most times, only families can do that. No one can match this band as as far as keeping the melodies of the original recordings and making them better live. Often times the singer makes the audience sing through the difficult parts of the songs, NOT THESE GUYS!!!!! They welcome the difficult areas. I am a longtime fan of this band. I have watched the growth through the years from Greg to Johnathan. I remember all of the singers and have seen them all live. Arnel is the best this band has ever had live and not even Steve could do better or even match him today!! God bless Journey, and may the Lord protect your talents!!! I pray you can continue to bring your awesome songs to the masses.

Saw them when they came through the Baltimore area and at 56 I thought to myself as we were watching that Arnel had to be in his 40's..... ABSOLUTELY no way I'm the same age 😂 he was incredible....they were all amazing. Side note saw them back in the 80's when I was a teen and it was unreal how amazing they still sound 40 years later!!
I agree that both vocalists are very talented & come very close to sounding like Steve Perry, plus Neal Schon & the performers on stage are a very tight, professional band. However, given that Schon is the *only* original member of the band, isn't it more fair to call this "a cover band, featuring original member, Neal Schon"?🤔Unfortunately, this question also applies to a number of other 60s/70s/80s bands which are touring & charging a lot for tickets...and, adding insult to injury, in many cases, the lawyers have guaranteed that the original band name can be used, e.g. "The Guess Who" that continues to tour only has the original bass player! No Randy Bachmann; no Burton Cummings! What's next? Simon & Garfunkle without Simon or Garfunkle?!🤔
My fiancé is a Filipina. She is SO VERY proud that Arnel is the lead singer of Journey! Quite frankly, as I’ve found out from the horse’s mouth, every Filipino that knows of Arnel, is extremely proud that he is the lead! No kidding, people. I’m an American that grew on this kind of music. I’m just not only glad that Steve Perry made Journey. I’m SO VERY GLAD THAT Arnel came along and saved Journey! I don’t care what anybody says, if the lead guitarist didn’t find and hire Arnel, Journey would be DOA! Deal with it, people. You can’t deny that.

When you say that 'they have not lost anything', do you realize that the only original member of Journey who is on that stage is Neal Schon? Yes, the band sounds great, but it is only fair to say that 'Neal Schon has not lost anything', but the rest of the performers here can't be compared to the original members of the band. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the performers are too young to remember the 1976 or 1981! 🤔
I just saw them last night in Greenville, SC. Toto opened the show. It was awesome!! If you close your eyes, you can almost believe Arnel is Steve Perry. The dude has some pipes!! Absolutely phenominal show!!

@@candiekane12 They went through a lot of changes is right. Two singers before they found Steve Perry and then Cain in 1980 which brought them out of a slump and got them noticed. But Schon (the last original member) is still there along with Cain and they have found some pretty good singers before and after Steve Perry. And their drummer Deen has an excellent voice!
Psyched to see them this summer with Def Leppard! Neil Schon is still incredible. And hey there is also the incredible Dean C on drums and vocals and Jon C! Yup, not Steve Perry but jeez this guy has carried this band for many years!
I would love to see them with Def Leppard but I'm sure I will enjoy Toto as well in April. I agree Dean is incredible, love his voice. Neil, I can't say enough about him. He is so frickin good and he truly loves what he does. He is right up there with all the greats. I can't wait to see him again. It was in '81 the one and only time I've seen Journey and I am so looking forward to seeing them next month. New players in the game with the exception of Neil but, the same familiar songs and the same passion. Journey Rock On 🤘

I just saw the last concert of their freedom tour 2024 in Bridgeport, CT. It was the best concert of my life. A memory me and my wife will never forget.

WOW......I did NOT know that they still continue.....I thought they gave up with Arnel Pineda. Amazing for how many years they tour. Arnel was soooo soooo great when he began with Journey, his voice lost a bit over the years. Overall their performance is stunning. Castronovo is a beast on the drums and he can sing sooooo great too.
Some people cannot just accept the fact that an Asian singer who is not well known could be a frontman for an iconic rock band & lasted for 16 years & going . None of the previous frontman have done it only Arnel. So please stop bashing & live & let live.

The documentary about Arnel joining journey is amazing. After the hardships Arnel faced growing up its great to see he got success singing. Journey is one of the all time classic bands for sure.

As a Journey fan since 1979 who has personal relationships with a couple of band members & also with the composer of a couple of the biggest hits in the band's history, I believe that every Journey fan owes a debt of gratitude and thanks to the bright light, energy, talent, & soul that is Mr. Arnel Pineda. I never really considered seeing Journey live since Steve Perry left. I'd never heard Arnel but thought, hey, I hear he's great but it doesn't matter how good he is, it's not really "Journey" without SP. But I thought I'd finally give this lineup a listen. Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. Yeah. He's really really good. Like everyone's been saying for years. Wow.

There are so many great songs! They only had an hour and 45 minutes. I heard that a concert they did by themselves last year was 2 and a half hours. I lived in Tobyhanna for a few months learning electronics for the Army. Went to Wilkes Barre to see Larry The Cable Guy while I was there. A nice place, but a little too cold for me. Cheers!
The best thing is, I have never felt like they settled by hiring Arnel. Or felt short-changed. He's the BEST sound-alike singer ever. Which means he's phenomenal in his own right.
I saw them last year (2023) with Toto in Grand Rapids, MI and they were fantastic. It never worked out to see them in the past. Finally checked this one off the bucket list. I was hoarse for two days after singing along all night.

I love this band...and they still sound great. Arnel, still sounds good....but Neal....please....let the band tune back down a half step. You can hear Arnel pushing too hard...barely reaching some of those registers. Jesus.

No it's not a sound engineer thing. Neal allowed the them to tune down a half step some years back to help with vocal fatigue. He then, not too long ago started tuning back to standard pitch (like the record). He prefers the original key. It's just too hard on Arnel though. Although it sounds good...vocally he'd sound a little less fatigued if they remained a half step down. @@dwaynesclassics
You know it's not easy to sing 15 songs or more with a high range. Might be that AP is not perfect at all, but, he did it for the journey and fans made the band alive. We are just thankful that there is AP

Been following this great band since I saw them in 1978 live in Santa Clara---my 1st concert.. Bay Area Home town boys/ Great line up. Saw them again on the ROR tour in San Fran ..Met Steve Perry at Whole Foods West Hollywood and Randy Jackson 2010 at Macy.s

Have a deeper set list of about 50-plus potential songs… Go album by album… including all records w/ Arnel. Toss it up a bit more. Retaining the retrospective that a 50th Anniversary set can be. If I buy tickets for many dates, I want as much variety as you can bring… Same 10 every show. 10 from say 40 others… Rant done. Journey still brings it and sounds excellent.

Did a week in California on their 30th anniversary tour which was a set that spanned their career at that time. Even then there were people in the audience saying "where is Steve Perry". Love the music but so glad i saw them several times on the Arrival tour - sad they pretend that album never existed. An H.S.A.S tour would be nice😊

Neil is the only original member left in Journey but they are one of those rare exceptions that can just plug in different musicians and still sound as good as the original, some would argue even better. Toto is another example. It’s ironic that both bands are on the same bill at this show.

He added more life to Journey's success when AP joined Journey in 2007. Journey's popularity was floundering ever since Steve Perry left, and with the arrival of AP, he revived it with success after success on its Concerts even now!!.. ***How many 70's and 80's rock bands are as hot as Journey? lots of them have failed! Maybe one reason was that Arnel Pineda has that versatile vocal ability, endurance,, young looks, and superb energy and charms to capture the crowds on the stage and give an incredible performance each time! First off, I am a singer by trade. Arnel is absolutely one of the best vocalists I have ever heard. Being able to keep the sound of this band in tact is a huge achievement in itself. People are so judgmental!!! Thank you to all who actually understand the major undertaking of coming in and doing the amazing job that Arnel is doing. Dean C is also due respect for keeping the integrity of the band in tact. He is also an amazing vocalist. I am glad he is singing as well. Dean and Arnel have an impressive blend. Most times, only families can do that. No one can match this band as as far as keeping the melodies of the original recordings and making them better live. Often times the singer makes the audience sing through the difficult parts of the songs, NOT THESE GUYS!!!!! They welcome the difficult areas. I am a longtime fan of this band. I have watched the growth through the years from Greg to Johnathan. I remember all of the singers and have seen them all live. Arnel is the best this band has ever had live and not even Steve could do better or even match him today!! God bless Journey, and may the Lord protect your talents!!! I pray you can continue to bring your awesome songs to the masses.

Saw them when they came through the Baltimore area and at 56 I thought to myself as we were watching that Arnel had to be in his 40's..... ABSOLUTELY no way I'm the same age 😂 he was incredible....they were all amazing. Side note saw them back in the 80's when I was a teen and it was unreal how amazing they still sound 40 years later!!
I agree that both vocalists are very talented & come very close to sounding like Steve Perry, plus Neal Schon & the performers on stage are a very tight, professional band. However, given that Schon is the *only* original member of the band, isn't it more fair to call this "a cover band, featuring original member, Neal Schon"?🤔Unfortunately, this question also applies to a number of other 60s/70s/80s bands which are touring & charging a lot for tickets...and, adding insult to injury, in many cases, the lawyers have guaranteed that the original band name can be used, e.g. "The Guess Who" that continues to tour only has the original bass player! No Randy Bachmann; no Burton Cummings! What's next? Simon & Garfunkle without Simon or Garfunkle?!🤔

When you say that 'they have not lost anything', do you realize that the only original member of Journey who is on that stage is Neal Schon? Yes, the band sounds great, but it is only fair to say that 'Neal Schon has not lost anything', but the rest of the performers here can't be compared to the original members of the band. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the performers are too young to remember the 1976 or 1981! 🤔

@@candiekane12 They went through a lot of changes is right. Two singers before they found Steve Perry and then Cain in 1980 which brought them out of a slump and got them noticed. But Schon (the last original member) is still there along with Cain and they have found some pretty good singers before and after Steve Perry. And their drummer Deen has an excellent voice!

I would love to see them with Def Leppard but I'm sure I will enjoy Toto as well in April. I agree Dean is incredible, love his voice. Neil, I can't say enough about him. He is so frickin good and he truly loves what he does. He is right up there with all the greats. I can't wait to see him again. It was in '81 the one and only time I've seen Journey and I am so looking forward to seeing them next month. New players in the game with the exception of Neil but, the same familiar songs and the same passion. Journey Rock On 🤘

WOW......I did NOT know that they still continue.....I thought they gave up with Arnel Pineda. Amazing for how many years they tour. Arnel was soooo soooo great when he began with Journey, his voice lost a bit over the years. Overall their performance is stunning. Castronovo is a beast on the drums and he can sing sooooo great too.
I was amazed at Arnel's energy!! It was an excellent show. I have not seen them since 1981 and this brought back memories of when I was a teenager.

The documentary about Arnel joining journey is amazing. After the hardships Arnel faced growing up its great to see he got success singing. Journey is one of the all time classic bands for sure.

I never really considered seeing Journey live since Steve Perry left. I'd never heard Arnel but thought, hey, I hear he's great but it doesn't matter how good he is, it's not really "Journey" without SP. But I thought I'd finally give this lineup a listen.

This was at the MS Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS. Their first show of this year.
They should replace some songs with deep cuts. Patiently, Winds of March, Ask the Lonely, Still They Ride, Partys Over, La Do Da, Somethin To Hide, Lovin You is Easy, Too Late, Edge of the Blade.
There are so many great songs! They only had an hour and 45 minutes. I heard that a concert they did by themselves last year was 2 and a half hours. I lived in Tobyhanna for a few months learning electronics for the Army. Went to Wilkes Barre to see Larry The Cable Guy while I was there. A nice place, but a little too cold for me. Cheers!
The best thing is, I have never felt like they settled by hiring Arnel. Or felt short-changed. He's the BEST sound-alike singer ever. Which means he's phenomenal in his own right.

I saw them last year (2023) with Toto in Grand Rapids, MI and they were fantastic. It never worked out to see them in the past. Finally checked this one off the bucket list. I was hoarse for two days after singing along all night.

I love this band...and they still sound great. Arnel, still sounds good....but Neal....please....let the band tune back down a half step. You can hear Arnel pushing too hard...barely reaching some of those registers. Jesus.

No it's not a sound engineer thing. Neal allowed the them to tune down a half step some years back to help with vocal fatigue. He then, not too long ago started tuning back to standard pitch (like the record). He prefers the original key. It's just too hard on Arnel though. Although it sounds good...vocally he'd sound a little less fatigued if they remained a half step down. @@dwaynesclassics
You know it's not easy to sing 15 songs or more with a high range. Might be that AP is not perfect at all, but, he did it for the journey and fans made the band alive. We are just thankful that there is AP

Been following this great band since I saw them in 1978 live in Santa Clara---my 1st concert.. Bay Area Home town boys/ Great line up. Saw them again on the ROR tour in San Fran ..Met Steve Perry at Whole Foods West Hollywood and Randy Jackson 2010 at Macy.s

Last time I saw Journey was in '83, the Frontiers Tour. I haven't seen them with Arnel yet... I bought a ticket to see them with The Pretenders, but that tour was canceled thanks to covid😕

Journey is one of my all-time favorites. Although I have seen them several times, going back to include the awesome Steve Perry days ... now that I am living abroad, I would dearly love to see them include Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, on this tour! ❤ 🙏

I saw them in 1980 that was a great show. Old journey with Greg singing some of the greats. Mixed with Steve was awesome. Then in 86 in Vegas.

Did a week in California on their 30th anniversary tour which was a set that spanned their career at that time.
Even then there were people in the audience saying "where is Steve Perry".
Love the music but so glad i saw them several times on the Arrival tour - sad they pretend that album never existed.
An H.S.A.S tour would be nice😊

Neil is the only original member left in Journey but they are one of those rare exceptions that can just plug in different musicians and still sound as good as the original, some would argue even better. Toto is another example. It’s ironic that both bands are on the same bill at this show.

**The Journey band is fortunate to have recruited Arnel Pineda, who remains loyal to the band as a successful frontman for more than 16 years. He added more life to Journey's success when AP joined Journey in 2007.
Journey's popularity was floundering ever since Steve Perry left, and with the arrival of AP, he revived it with success after success on its Concerts even now!!..
***How many 70's and 80's rock bands are as hot as Journey? lots of them have failed! Maybe one reason was that Arnel Pineda has that versatile vocal ability, endurance,, young looks, and superb energy and charms to capture the crowds on the stage and give an incredible performance each time!

Didn’t realize Todd Jensen was on bass. I remember him from his Portland days with Sequel.
