Does it strike anyone that these music industry people have such a low opinion of music fans. He explored one style and explored another. There is this prevailing belief that fans of this music cannot walk and chew gum at the same time. That is, that fans are so bigoted that we cannot appreciate other styles. A hardcore punk could never be caught dead putting on Black Sabbath. A Misfits fan would never like Danzig. Who made these rules? They are unrealistic, Danzig nd Eerie understood differently, thankfully.
That was the goofy style back then. I guess it was edgy..or some such thing. I kinda miss it, though.... but I grew up on it, hence the nostalgia of chilling on the couch with a hangover on a lazy Saturday morning in the mid 90s.
I think it is funny how Glenn answers by saying how he can play "any instrument"... very basically, I'm sure. But when Eerie adds, it's to say how well the rest of the band can pick up on Glenn's ideas... like there is a tug of war for who is more talented.
I think he played drums on some tracks, either on Samhain or on some of the Lost Tracks Of Danzig material, can't remember, and there's footage of him playing bass and guitar live. There's also the photo of him teaching Roy Orbison the song he wrote for him, while playing on of Roy's very expensive guitars. I'm sure he's no virtuoso, otherwise with the size of his ego, he would've probably tried to take more of the spotlight by playing guitar or bass live himself, but he can definitely play.
Having a big ego can be a good thing. Among other things it can actually help some peoples willpower, that's probably part of the reason he didn't become a cliche drug addicted musician or just another dead rock star. I'm not sure what size has to do with anything? A lot of the best athletes in the world are arrogant and have huge egos.
John Christ was the best member of the band. He and Chuck were the beating heart of this band.
The Danzig 4 tour was the first time I saw him. Korn was the opening act. It was a great show.
