My grandfather died about a month ago and I’m still grieving. But this song proves that even in our darkest hour, God is always with us when someone we love is no longer with us. He knows what I’m going though, but I know that I’m not alone, for Jesus Christ is with me, and will always lift me up from the pit of sadness.
Was feeling this way when i lost my dad to cancer. I hated god for taking him away from me and for not saving him from the cancer. Took me while for me to know he did save him and that hes still with me.
Amen!! I was the same when I lost my grandma. I was not until a year has passed and I found out why God took my grandma. She is in a place with no pain and suffering!! I get to see her again when the time is right.

Why do I cry everytime I hear this.. my father was an alcoholic and would beat my mom so bad... I would pray to God to take him away... the scars are so deep. I can see it clearly in the way I am with my oldest daughter... I wish I could show her my pain that I have like when McKenzie saw his father being afraid

I believe the reason artists don't refer to Him as "Jesus", "Lord", "Christ", "God", "Abba" "Father" or refer to the Holy Spirit in songs anymore is so their music can be considered pop, country, ect & can be played on various stations under a variety of genres so not to be labeled exclusively Christian music and played solely on Christian stations. That's jmo.
