when you connect different pedals that edgier sound is a lot useful because you loose a bit of high end when you connect a lot of pedals i use the wampler clean buffer but the one without the switch and it stays always on :) great demo I think it's the ultimate buffer demo..

i use the clean buffer without switch so is always on.. then i have the hardwire cm 2.. the hardwire sc 2 and the wampler pinnacle.. but with my amp i can run the whole pedalboard in the loop when i do that the signal is buffer.. cm2 sc2 pinnacle.. hardwire cr 7 hardwire dl 8 hardwire rv7 and the bbe sonic stomp. in my opinion it works better in the first way especially the distortion tones. maybe the sovereign and the tweed don't want that hi fi sound that the buffer gives to them

Well, I would like buffers to be more transparent, anyway.
That edgier sound makes the sound a bit hollow, something that I don't dig.
But, what surprised me really in this test was the TRUE BYPASS mode.
With pedals switched off, the Wampler's true bypass mode sounded loud, punchy and with enough high end, as if very low signal degradation took place, while the MXR MC-401 was a real tone sucker in true bypass mode!.
The buffer is negativelly affecting Sovereign and '57 tweed, when in front.

Nice playing. Audio could've been clearer but I got the idea!

mxr is sounding bad in bypass because it is NOT realy true bypass, it calls - 'brown' bypass,
