Lisa, I have an Bernina 880(2013) that I purchased and installed the Embroidery Plus enhancement on it. It it my understanding it is now considered an 880 Plus. Do I update with the 880 or the 880 Plus firmware? Thanks.
I am updating my 790 plus firmware and followed your steps successfully. My machine restarted once and now has been stuck on the screen that says USER UPDATE at the top and "Checking updates on stick" at the bottom for about 2 hours. Wondering if this is normal? It seems like a very long time to update firmware. I'm updating from 37.40.42 to version 39.02.04. I'd appreciate anyone's input here. Thanks everyone!
That is a LOT of updates! Apparently, your machine has not been updated in quite awhile. They go in increments, numerically. If it still isn’t resolved, you might want to shut down and restart.
Another thing to check....are you using a 32 gig usb? Too big! Use a 2-4 gig usb. Turn machine off, Hold in tie off and pattern end buttons, machine will come up in update mode. Machine asks you to verify, depress same two buttons and it will go. You should see a progress bar across the bottom of the screen!
Another wonderful tutorial! Please do one showing “perfect placement” while doing endless embroidery on a Bernina like the 770 that doesn’t have “Perfect Placement” built into the machine.

Yes you would! On the other hand, support and updates for discontinued models drop off. There most likely is not a new update for your machine, but you can check the version number on what you have and check.
The last update available for the B830 was in 2017. Here is the link to download it: www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Machines/BERNINA-8-Series/BERNINA-830 There will most likely not be any newer updates for that machine, as it has not been in production for over 10 years.
Hi Penny....if you mean the 830 that was a mechanical machine produced in the 70's and 80's, there is no firmware update for that machine, as it does not use firmware.
