Just started using Vivaldi on my mac recently. Fell in love with it instantly. But i would rather use Linux for most things. I know it comes PRE-bundled with some Linux distros (or at least in certain distros repositories), but i can't remember which distro i briefly saw it in. Any ideas? Is it a specific Ubuntu spin or something? I would honestly change my main Linux O.S. to have Vivaldi rather than just Firefox.

Vivaldi is best choice nowadays especially that they implementing privacy settings like brave does + definitely customizable. If u programmer or some computer fan this is definitely browser which allows u easy to use only keyboard etc.

So I was an Opera lover but due to privacy I downloaded Firefox 88 - a total pain in the butt. Isnt Vivaldi an updated version of Opera? Should I download it ofc still w/FF88 in so I can import bookmarks etc but will it also remember my old Opera settings? One day out of the blue all my Opera Other Bookmarks disappeared and it happened to a lot of others also. Thx so much, gonna do a bit more research before I add it in and get rid of FF!
Vivaldi's CEO was the co-founder of Opera back in the day. Other than that, it's a completely separate browser from Opera. Also, Vivaldi team has the same dedication for making a browser that is configurable for each user's use case, that Opera once did.

I downloaded Vivaldi & like it. However, I have a problem maybe someone can help me with. When I open a newsletter, no problem. If i don't want to read any articles I hit the < icon to get out. However, if I want to read one of the articles & click on it, when I want to get out of the article the < & > icons are dark. I can't figure out how to return to my emails. I have to sign off, click on gmail to get back to me emails. Really a hassle. I looked in settings but can find nothing that helps.
recently tried switching from brave to vivaldi but theres just one issue im having here is that the videos in youtube when turning to full screen is slow af compared to brave and it the browser loads much longer so im thinking of going back to brave.

The button for clicking to another page disappeared. Wrote support plus sent them a screenshot. Think I should just take it out and download it again?? Thanks so much!
Just uninstalled, reinstalled, all is well again. Wrote to support that this worked about asked them to look inot it in case that happened to someone else. Thx!
I've been using Vivaldi for the last couple of years and I love it. Recently I'm seeing a lot of issues on my computer. It works fine on my phone. My tabs keep crashing. I try to load a new site and nothing happens. I've updated it, restarted my browser, restarted my computer and even disabled all of the extensions. Is anyone else seeing any of these issues?
Thank you so much! I use ScreenFlow for Mac to do basically all my videos. I find it makes creating animations incredibly easy compared to full video editing apps like Final Cut and Premiere.
it has so many cool features it even has a game but it doesnt use the nearest neighbour to resize the game but it stillsick and i can write notes too im more than pleased with this browser
I love vivaldi, but performance is not great I'd really like some improvements on that part, when you are used to brave's smoothness it quite a shock but overall vivaldi is so much better then brave
Vivaldi is the true successor to Opera 12. It picked up where that left, before Opera was bought by that Chinese company and started to be less customizable and "not feel like Opera anymore". Absolutely superior for the power-users that like customization. It's very well implemented as well. Just a few small kinks here and there, and it would be perfect.
downloaded this browser and first page had add email link. once I started looking at other things that page disappeared and for 2 hours could not find it again. this browser was so confusing. ugh. uninstalled.
@@Piriluk331 Ha ha ha,,.. looser, look for a job..!! or learn before you answer..!! not everything depends on internet or device, sometimes we need to set up or install extra codecs and it doesn't work the same in every OS. ! in my case on Manjaro Brave works better and faster.
Def my favorite browser. Can't remember when I started using it. The tabs on the side made it for me because you can have as many as you want and still read what's on the god damn tab lolol It's actually amazing I haven't seen it on another browser. I can't really imagine switching but it def won't be soon :)
@@kazooduck Yeah Opera got bought by a Chinese investment firm a while ago. One other thing I like about Vivaldi is that it has some of the OG opera founders behind it (before it got sold to the investment firm)

Vivaldi is my default browser on PC but my back up on android. Vivaldi on android is very good with in built site translation but it can not block video autoplay or YT ads. My go to browser on android is Brave but I hope you they add an inbuilt translation in the future.
What about being able to color or skin folders on bookmarks? Chrome sucks at this, and they've had years to get it addressed. Would be a knockout if Vivaldi did this.
There are 2 things I would say are bad about it - It's not open source (It has open source parts but it's not fully open source) - The abundance of features can make it sometimes slow - This is really a neutral one but it's chromium based so it's semi-under google's control
Insane costumization, does everything Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari does and its all optional for best user experience. I'd reccomend to not use the inbuilt adblocker but Ublock Origin instead.
Except that the virtual keyboard doesn't work properly on it. In short, it covers the line you are typing in and does not move it up above the keyboard.
I'll ask this everywhere until I get answer: Vivialdi unloads my tabs so aggressively that the browser is barely usable. How do I make it stop unloading tabs?
It's okay. It has "lots of features" that only work sometimes, or not at all, and you only find this out after you install and set it up. Then when you go to the Vivaldi forums, you find out that the non-functionality is a "known bug" that has been "known" for four years, and has gone unfixed. For example, you can't stream Sirius XM radio in the browser, there is no audio, and this is known. Their usual "fix" for these is to "use another browser for this". Ummmm...
I'd use Vivaldi only if it had basic touchpad gestures like two fingers swipe to go back / forward. It's a big letdown for laptop users. And furthermore there's no iOS version of Vivaldi.
@@arrtemfly it is still open to view the source code, so this isn’t a trust issue. Everything they have is auditable. This is about them not wanting people to copy/fork their browser and create competition since they’re still a minor player.

What brought me to it is that it's got the power and security of Brave with the extra search bar like Firefox. Plus all the customizations.
Wish it got the web element screenshot tool like Firefox, I couldn't find any browser or extension which could do that

I've been using Vivaldi for couple months now and I really dig it. What I like the most is plenty of customization and great pop-out player.

I was about download it and then I read this...People complain a lot about chrome performance but for me works better than others.

I do use the Vivaldi browser. I reminds me a lot of the Brave browser because of the orange theme.

what about cloud storage, i use safari cuz i can add and access anything to/from multiple devices. this is most important feature for me. Thank you.

Im loving Vivaldi. Its a little laggy in some areas next to Chrome, but it has some features I cant live without now....and its not Google.
