Unfortunately some people feel the need to insult this man, regardless of the fact that he's going out of his time to help us. I want to apologise for these jerks who have nothing better to do, and thank you for all the help you've given me. Take care, Mr. Deacon.
Last week, I did a question very similar to this on a test determining whether I would get into a higher level class or an ordinary level class for maths. I was very stressed and didn't know if I was right or not, and the stress caused me to have migraines. However my mum told me to look at your videos to help me understand the topic better and it appears I did it correct!!! You have lifted a great deal of stress and tension from my shoulders, thank you for the great video!! 😊
Hi simon this is very helpful, would this exact method apply to the question which is on the edexcel november 2013 gcse maths paper1 non calc. Many thanks.
I really appreciate how much effort you put into making these kind of videos and it certainly shows throughout the video. Thank you so much for helping me! :)
Wow thank you I have found tree diagrams so difficult and no matter what couldn't understand them but now thanks to you I do so really thank you. You have made it sound really easy & simple .
thankyou do much! i have to do an end of year exam and i really want to be in top set! my maths teacher dosen't explain this well so thankyou, now i know what i am doing :)
Hi - in the second round they will add to one. So, if she picked straw first time: 2/6 (straw) + 4/6 (peach) = 1 If she picked peach first time: 3/6 (straw) + 3/6 (peach) = 1 Hope this helps and all best S :-)
Hi, thanks for clear explanation. I have Question please. if yo walk me through it please. you work for a large Global management consulting company. of the entire workforce of analysts, 49% have had no experience in the telecommunication industry, 26% have had limited experience( less than five years) and the rest have had (five years or more) on a recent project you and two other analysts were chosen at random to constitute a team it turns out that part of the project involves telecommunications. 1) The probability that the first teammate you meet has extensive telecommunication experience is : 2) the probability that the first teammate you meet has some telecommunication experience is : 3) the probability that the first teammate you meet has no more than limited telecommunication experience is: That would great if you solve this, thanks a lot.
+Seerat Raseen HI - I've worked through some of this but it'll really require a video to explain fully. Here's a picture in the meantime: www.dropbox.com/s/lpqnk9fluv04eol/Probability%20Analysts%20%28Prob%20tree%29.JPG?dl=0 To get the answers 1) is the LN,LS,LL adding together 2) is the SN,SS,SL addition and 3) is the NN,NS,NL total. I hope this helps... it's not the full answer but might help? Best S
When I type in 3/7 on my scientific calculator, I get 3 over 7 as a fraction and with the others. Am I doing something wrong? this is not crystal clear, please help!
Hi Simon, hahaha I have another problem please guide me through it. An oil com estimates that, for certain oil-field, the probability that the oil price will be high enough to extract the oil is given as follow . assume that these events are independent of each other. Number of years in the Future probability of oil price being sufficiently high extract oil. 1 0.1 2 0.25 3 0.32 4 0.45 5 0.5 calculate the probability that oil company will start extracting oil a. in year 1 b in year 2 c in year 3 d in year 4 E in year 5 please and thank you very much
+Seerat Raseen - Hi, I hope I'm reading this right but the answers seems to be given in the text? Each of the events is independent so a) year 1 is 0.1 or 10% b) 0.25 or 25% and so on. Is this OK? All best S
+Simon Deacon ok its just on the tree pp is 2/7 and underneath it you wrote it as 3/7? i'm probably mistaken somehow. appreciate the videos however massive help.
Hi - The top branch is where she picked a strawberry (around 5.30). The second branch is a peach, and the diagram shows what happens in either case. Here's some more examples that might help: ruclips.net/p/PLPglScc3TJ-MF8YeYy0JplwCzR9h_we87. All best S :-)
Hi - she had a 4/7 probability to pick peach on first time. Then 3/6 to pick peach again, or 3/6 to pick strawberry, on the second attempt. I hope this helps ... there's a post on www.mathswrap.co.uk/how-to-work-with-probability-tree-diagrams/ that might be useful. All best S
joan plays tennis with her friends jill and angela if shes has a proability of 0.7 beatng angela and a probability of o.4 of beating jill what is the probability of jill beating joan and angela beating joan
stephen barker Unfortunately I haven't done any box plot videos but median is middle number, upper quartile to 75%, lower quartile bottom 25%. The box bit in the middle represents 50%. You should be able to use these to answer % questions? Hope that helps S :-)
Simon Deacon 1 question the box starts at 40 median is 48 and ends at 60 total is 190 what percetageof sophomores spend more han 60 minson homework and what is the range of times in the middle 50 percent of the sophomores spend on homework per night
+Sarvanga Regmi - Hi ... they work in a similar way, so 0.7 is the same as 7/10. You'll need to make sure that each 'dot' adds upto 1 so you might have two branches 0.7 & 0.3. To calculate the probabilities multiply the decimals. I'll post a video about this and let you know when done. All best S

I am studying to take my maths GCSEs next summer and this video was very helpful
+E Vida - That's great and glad to help :-)
I understood really.
Thanks for your explanation and really you are a nice teacher.
Lol, not when I'm giving homework :-)
I have watched so many videos trying to work out how to do tree diagrams(GCSE mock coming up😬), this video actually made me understand, thank you 🙏🏻
Glad to help and all best S :-)
idk if i should do Cambridge next year...

Hi - glad to hear about this and thank you for the comment - made my day!
I missed my probability class. This does helped me. thanks a lot sir :-)
Glad to help and all best S :-)
Hi simon this is very helpful, would this exact method apply to the question which is on the edexcel november 2013 gcse maths paper1 non calc. Many thanks.
Thank you so much Sir! I understood your explanation more than how my professor explained it. God bless you sir
So pleased to have found you on you tube your videos have been a massive help to me. Please carry on with your great work.
Good teacher
Thanks a lot for this video. I failed my quiz but after watching this video it helped me. Thanks!
I really appreciate how much effort you put into making these kind of videos and it certainly shows throughout the video. Thank you so much for helping me! :)
sir doesn't "and" mean in probability times not add (OR)? because you added strawberry and peach which I don't understand.
Hi - the outcome probabilities are multiplied, the final probability is added. Best S :-)
Wow thank you I have found tree diagrams so difficult and no matter what couldn't understand them but now thanks to you I do so really thank you. You have made it sound really easy & simple .
Thnx Mr.deacon I hv a math final exam in yr9 tomorrow and this rlly helped me again thanks a lot ❤😀
Thank you for making me understand this topic, sir May God bless you
@@ChilesheChilambwe-oh6zh Very welcome and glad to help - all best S :-)
Thanks this really helped , could you please make a video on frequency trees
Hi - can you give me an example of the question and I'll try to help :-)
My heart jumped when you said the final answer was 4/7 lol I'm glad you rectified it at the end. Thank you!
Lol, glad to help - all best S :-)
Very nice, fluid description. Thank you Simon
+Asphalt Ricky - Glad to help and all best S :-)
What a nice, smart, helpful man you are! You sir are a very good teacher
thankyou do much! i have to do an end of year exam and i really want to be in top set! my maths teacher dosen't explain this well so thankyou, now i know what i am doing :)
You are better than my teacher!!
I can not thank you enough you made me understand this and I am forever grateful
thanks teacher God bless you
You are the best sir!!!Loved your explanation
Keep explaining more chapters of maths
Keep explain more such chapters of maths e.g vectors and transformation
can you help me with some probability questions please
Thank you! That was really helpful. I have exam soon and I missed that bit in the class as I was off. So thanks a billion! :)
Excellent explanation. Just one correction the last pp mentioned with ss is 2/7. therefore the final answer is 1+2 = 3/7.
This was very helpful, the previous video I watched was incorrect and I was confused but now I am fully understanding 👌
how come sir the probability for straw yogurt for the second round was not 2/6 as all probabilities add to one?
Hi - in the second round they will add to one. So, if she picked straw first time:
2/6 (straw) + 4/6 (peach) = 1
If she picked peach first time:
3/6 (straw) + 3/6 (peach) = 1
Hope this helps and all best S :-)
this has been really helpful and i understood it very well, keep up the good work
nice teaching Sir I understand now God bless you

+Simon Deacon exactly
is it not 1/7 + 2/7?
+jestaa Hi - yes, it is when you are working out total probability. SS is 1/7 and PP is 2/7 so total is 3/7. Hope that helps and all best S :-)
+Simon Deacon ok its just on the tree pp is 2/7 and underneath it you wrote it as 3/7? i'm probably mistaken somehow. appreciate the videos however massive help.
+jestaa Ah, it's probably just my writing :-)
Really helpful thanks.
Glad to help Lisa Whitear - all best S :-)
how do u know that it was a strawberry she ate and not a peach?? the question said at random...it didn't say she ate a strawberry?
Hi - The top branch is where she picked a strawberry (around 5.30). The second branch is a peach, and the diagram shows what happens in either case. Here's some more examples that might help: ruclips.net/p/PLPglScc3TJ-MF8YeYy0JplwCzR9h_we87.

thank you
+Sarvanga Regmi - Glad to help :-)
👍 now i probably wont fail the test i have next period lol
But what if she did pick the peach yogurt the first time
Hi - she had a 4/7 probability to pick peach on first time. Then 3/6 to pick peach again, or 3/6 to pick strawberry, on the second attempt.
I hope this helps ... there's a post on www.mathswrap.co.uk/how-to-work-with-probability-tree-diagrams/ that might be useful.
All best S
Thank you so much!!!!!
Thanks man!
Oops sorry i missed the last comment. But brilliantly explained. Yahoo.

stephen barker That's going to need a probability tree - here's a video on something similar ruclips.net/video/dRdCUUgrwVw/видео.html. All best S
Simon Deacon
how do i work percentages out from box plots
stephen barker Unfortunately I haven't done any box plot videos but median is middle number, upper quartile to 75%, lower quartile bottom 25%. The box bit in the middle represents 50%. You should be able to use these to answer % questions? Hope that helps S :-)
Simon Deacon

stephen barker I'll get a video done at some point - but you might need to talk to your teacher in the meantime :-)
thanks it is very helpful
+Sarvanga Regmi - Glad to help and all best with your studies :-)
Can you please explain me how to do tree diagrams when it is a decimal
+Sarvanga Regmi - Hi ... they work in a similar way, so 0.7 is the same as 7/10.
You'll need to make sure that each 'dot' adds upto 1 so you might have two branches 0.7 & 0.3.
To calculate the probabilities multiply the decimals.
I'll post a video about this and let you know when done. All best S
very helpful :))
Thank you so much😭😭
whos watching this in 2020 for exams
just a little bit confused.
tq sir
Glad the video helped :-)
