    About I’m on Vacation:
    I'm on Vacation is about freedom. Freedom from responsibility. It's an "out of office" auto reply on your work email. It's a beer on a Tuesday at lunch just because the weather is nice. It's a laissez-faire mindset. Throw caution to the wind, because anything can happen when you’re on vacation, and nothing else exists but the present moment.
    Bradley and Margaret McCoy have made their home in New Orleans and are living this "I'm on Vacation" mentality. From dancing in the streets in full costume during Mardi Gras to buying a vintage houseboat to travel down the Mississippi River, there’s no telling where they will end up next.

    That was terrific, congratulations Captain and First Mate! I grew up piloting my Dad's 43' houseboat up and down the Illinois river, but have not been on a houseboat in a long time. In a month my family is doing a 4 day trip on Fun n the sun houseboats out of Alma, Wisconsin. Can't wait!

    Very cool first night! As to bugs, houseflys, gnats and other creatures that love to tag along on boats are the infamous ‘Ceratopogonidae ‘ or as we say in Edisto SC ‘no see ums’ .. If I had to guess Louisiana has these. On a day with no wind they will ruin your day. You truly can’t see them and bite they do. In Columbia SC we have what looks like house flys that but sting you good. They love boats! And palmetto bugs seem to get on our boat regularly. I spray all the cabin compartments about twice a year and that takes care of it. Needless to say a huge palmetto bug made its presence known while we were doing an overnighter and the mrs. hasn’t been the same since………….

      Gnats or no see ums are the worst! Their bites seem to last 3 days or so and leave your skin spotted. Are the biting flys a little greenish? We get deer flys that look like a little bit larger than house flys and the bites are painful. Thanks for watching. Please be sure to subscribe.

      @@ImonVacation The biting flys look identical to the common house fly. No green on them but I know that type to.. We head out on the boat and these biting flys always show up and stay down around your ankles.. A royal pain in the butox.. Mosquitoes are a different story altogether. I had a healthy colony of Bats roosting somewhere near here and they absolutely took care of the skeeters.. Due to ‘white nose syndrome’ they all died. Don’t want Bats in the attic but their great skeeter eaters!

    Does the Mississippi River have a calming effect or are you two on anxiety medications.Or is it me with anxiety and just Um notice relaxed people and relaxing environmental geography

      LOL! Some of the boating aspects were stressful, but being tied up to the beach and looking across the water is probably one of the most calming effects I have experienced.

    Did you keep him in the crate while you
    were on the boat?

    • @ImonVacation
      @ImonVacation  4 месяца назад

      Very rarely. I would only have him go to his crate when we entered locks, etc for his safety, but even then, it would stay open in case he needed to get out quickly.
