About I’m on Vacation™:
I'm on Vacation™ is about freedom. Freedom from responsibility. It's an "out of office" auto reply on your work email. It's a beer on a Tuesday at lunch just because the weather is nice. It's a laissez-faire mindset. Throw caution to the wind, because anything can happen when you’re on vacation, and nothing else exists but the present moment.
Bradley and Margaret McCoy have made their home in New Orleans and are living this "I'm on Vacation" mentality. From dancing in the streets in full costume during Mardi Gras to buying a vintage houseboat to travel down the Mississippi River, there’s no telling where they will end up next.
the shining on water!!!!! brad dont do it!!!!
Ha!
What ya'll need is a pair of binoculars onboard!
Yeah man
That's funny you mentioned that because we said the same thing! Keep watching as we had a friend join us north of Memphis and had him bring us some binoculars!
Keep watching, because we actually had someone bring some out to us. Great minds think alike. LOL!
...ya'll "....😅
That's my neighborhood! I'm on the Wisconsin side, the lock masters aren't sitting by the radio all the time, out tending the locks. Catfish Charles isn't too bad.
Thats Awesome! It was a really neat area.
We are.from Homer, LA. You must not be from Louisiana with that accent and sophistication. :)
Ha! I see you've watched the other videos and probably have discovered I was born and raised in Louisiana.
3 mpg downstream.. yikes!
You're telling me! It was actually closer to 2 mpg 🥴
Relax. Stop having a schedule.
You're correct. Only regret of trip was doing it too fast. As you'll see through the future videos, we were trying to meet people at certain stops and we're worried we need to be back for a job. But a slower, longer trip would have been the ticket.
It's been decades but I think lock 12 has the pics of the deckhand that got decapitated by a lock line because he fauled it down too quickly. It knocked him out of his boots.
That sounds terrible
You all were hauling ass. Those tow boats go about 15 knotts. What was your gas usage per hour on the engines and how fast did you average?
About 2 mi/gallon and averaging 8/mi/hr, so so somewhere around 4 gallons an hour.
Later on, we started getting 10/mi an hour.
@ImonVacation 🤔🤨🙄🥴
