I am impressed, you took the time to actually fully document the entire process. Most youtubers just tell you what to remove without any clear video of the process. Yes, for the average person not actually doing the swap its boring to watch, but for anyone actually doing this its more helpful than you can imagine to see the process to make sure you don't break anything. Thank you!
I always wanted more detailed visuals when watching others install parts so I do my best to be as detailed as possible in my videos. Thank you for noticing that! Some people don't like it cause that makes my videos longer. But I'd rather not leave people with unanswered questions about the process. Guess it depends on if they're watching to learn or just for entertainment.

Nice upgrade - would be easy to also add a backup camera to your model with this box!
Just fitted this to my son's 2009 E92. As simple as it gets, everything fits and works straight out of the box. Adding a reverse camera was also simple, just gotta select "aftermarket camera" instead of OEM and it works like a charm. Highly recommended!

Hi, I'm having such unit (also Limset box) since 2019 and after updating my iPhone to iOs 17 the unit can't connect to iPhone. I do have Bluetooth but CarPlay is constantly trying to connect but with no success. Does yours work the same after update? Have you heard about that problem? I'm thinking of just buying the new unit, just want the same box to not to deal with replacing all components. Yours menu looks the same as mine, you just have additional mirror screening, are you able to watch RUclips on it?
Best install video I’ve watched. Where does the box draw power from? Asking cos there’s no wires going to the quad lock behind the CiC unit which is a good thing because one less thing to worry about.
I believe it is taking power from the main head unit still where it connects into the iDrive controller knob since the original connector that goes to the idrive knob is connected into the new wire harness that connects to the main box while the other end from the main wire harness connects into the idrive controller.

1. Any issues with the microphone being so close to the vent or under the trim piece? When you are on a call, can the other person hear you alright?
2. Someone else asked this, but you didn't respond, any issue with the IOS 17 connecting? I have the iphone 15 and want to make sure it is compatible prior to purchasing this system.

I’ve had no issue with the microphone being under the trim piece. And also have had no issue with connecting to iOS17.
Thank you for the video. I basically install it after watching your video. It helped a lot. Only difference on my case was the location of the unit. I tried to place it under the passenger side footwell panel. I just wanted to have easier access. My question is about the audio quality of the unit. I found the sound of the music on spotify a bit flat. I think the chipset of the unit (operational amplifier) is not as good as car`s default amplifier. I think it is possible to use car`s default amplifier, but this is only possible if using car`s HDD or USB port. Another issue is quality of microphone. It is really poor. I think compared to the BMWs default microphone, it is slightly worse. Any advise regarding improving quality of mic. or audio of the car? Do you think I can still use car`s default microphone and connect it somehow to the interface? As much as I understand, once carplay is activated, phone cannot connet to any other bluetooth device. Thanks!
You can adjust the audio in Spotify to make it sound more like the factory audio. At least that’s what I did and to me it sounds basically the same name. The location of the microphone does matter. Where did you place it? The same spot I did?

On your bmw 328i I’m thinking about getting a resanator and muffler delete but worries about driving in neighborhood do you think I’d get same sound with a valvetronic muffle ?
I'm not sure, I didn't know valvtronic made an exhaust for E90 328i. However, hearing other aftermarket mufflers, to me it sounds the same but for more than double the price.
So does the dash cam connect to the MMI? And can you access it? I have a dash can that connects via usb.
Oh no the dashcam I have is completely separate. It connects into a USB adapter in the cigarette lighter power socket
is there a way to relocate the stock aux port, and then connect the aux to the system under a trim piece? I just want to avoid having a cable running through my console.
As far as I know, I dont think so. Why do you want to avoid just running it through the console and main trim piece like in the video?
@@InlineSixAuto just for an overall cleaner installation. Im kind of OCD when it comes to cable management so i want to have everything look as stock as possible.

What doesn’t work exactly? You were able to hook up all the wire connections? Does it nothing show up on screen?

Hi i just installed this into my 2013 328i E92. When i connect the carplay it sounds terrible. when it connects just using the bluetooth it sounds like it did before the unit was installed. Any idea on how to fix the Carplay audio?
You can adjust the bass and treble in settings in the main menu of the host system. You can also adjust the sound in your spotify or apple music settings. I made adjustments in both to get it to sound way better and closer to the OEM speaker sound.
Hey does the does the android auto connect automatically through Bluetooth like apple car play? or do you have to physically connect with a wire?
It can connect wirelessly via wifi to your phone or it can connect via the USB port that comes with the kit in a wired set up.
You have any idea why cant i increase AUX volume in the head unit? Its stuck on 0!

I have a 2018 330i and can I install CarPlay in it? Bmw dealership said I can’t?
I think you still can but I think they introduced the new EVO iDrive system that year. So you’d need to get a kit that is compatible with the EVO system.
you have not shown where you put the additional mic, neither the antenna. :(
I said where I put the mic, its behind the dash trim piece in between the start button and the center vent.
Hi, I found your video because i have similar carplay box and i want to connect it to CIC navigation in my BMW F13. Could you tell me what about a external mic? It's necessary to plug in into the box? Or can i use the original microphone?
On this specific system, you could use the original microphone in the car or you can use the aftermarket one that comes with the kit. You just have to change the setting on which microphone you want to use. Not sure if it’ll be the same on yours.

nive video, thx. Why a box instead of one of this chinese full new screen that also increase the screen resolution and bring a full new front glass that certainly the original CIC is with scraches and not tactil.
My screen is just fine so I didn't think it was necessary to spend the extra money.
Okay so I did everything in the video but get no display it does connect to CarPlay tho ? On my phone but not display at all anyone know the cause ?

Yes the screen is just black nothing comes so I had to put everything back to stock . Do you know if it’s a common problem?
