im debating on getting one myself this week, looking at either 21 or 22 used model 3. Im guessing it varies by tire price , cause 2500 for tire replacement is a bit crazy.
The only reason why I paid that much is because I kept getting nails in my tires and I had to replace the whole tire. But Tesla has a tire warranty deal out now you pay like a one time fee and you have warranty on it for a year. I highly recommend getting that. What’s up brother , no I don’t keep in a garage, don’t have one yet. But if I did have one I don’t think I would. Would you be able to put a home charger?
I live in a cold state, it sucks owning it without a home charger because it will drain alot quicker when it gets down in temps. I went back to gas because of it, you can turn off sentry mode and that helps alot, but then of course you have no alarm unless they open the door. If you have the time to go to the charger every few days go for it, just plan on it. If I was still living in my house, I would have probably kept it, but not living in an apartment in a cold state.
Ok some Thoughts from a Tesla owner, a former CCS/J1772 EV owner and FORMER gas car owner, in a snow state. A garage is not needed to own an EV. A GOOD car cover would be useful, however. As to charge places, check the APPS and or the Tesla app to see what is near you and how it might apply to your situation. A home charger system can be put on the wall of a house near a driveway, or on a post. Some owners run a drop cord out the window to charge the EV. That is not the best plan, there are electrick losses, heat issues and much more
It was $800. I bought it through Upgrades, then accessories in the Tesla app. After I bought it, they gave me a service date on when I could bring the car in so they could install it. The $800 included parts, shipping and labor.
