It's not even that good. I feel bad for whoever gets a taste of Vocaloid from World Is Mine. She sounds so soulless in that song, as if she doesn't even care what she's talking about. I wish that it was another song that was more popular. It can still be the same producer! Odds and Ends is more emotional and has a stronger instrumental. Just my personal opinion, though.
Okay, I understand that they screwed up the pronunciation of her name, but it could have been worse. They delivered the information clearly and concisely without making the fans seem like huge geeks, which is more than I can say for Fox's report. However, I do agree they could've brought up other Vocaloids. If you want to rage and nitpick, do it on Fox's report on Miku. It honestly makes me angry how ignorant those people are.
I have to agree its fine if they mess up on her name it's not very easy to say I had trouble saying when first heard it and hey at least this is a bit better than fox news it was okay but could of been better
I was searching for a comment like this just to say you're damn right. In any other report you can even see the reporters laughing at the fans, but that's not the case here. They just did a great job except for mispronouncing her name
When I mention her to my friends and show them the glorious music that Miku is able to produce. The first thing they say is, "I can't even understand her?" Does it matter? The sound of her voice just brings you in. I've been listening to Vocaloid for three years, and I am a huge fan of Miku, Rin, Len, Kaito, Luka, etc.. They are all I listen to. Their songs always have some meaning behind them. Unlike most songs from real artists.
superbuddy9899 yeah ikr. When i let them listen to vocaloid (or another japanese song) they are like that. They say that anime songs or other japanese songs are genre on it's own, it is NOT! Like srsly, you don't understand italian or spanish songs, do you? And even so they're still pop or rock or i don't know what. And if you don't like it, then just say it. Not come up with the most stupid stuff to critizize it or disrespect it!
"Anyone can do it," they should not say it like that. It isn't as simple as that, it takes lots of time and skill to make a good song. What they should say is that anyone could buy it and try for themselves.
Thank you very much for the translation, I put them in caption on the video. Fixed a few words but I'm a begginer so do no hesitate to correct any errors.
shes just a pure legend of music in our time. She helps bring all songs we all over come to life, and that is what makes her great. Its not about just listening to songs that some band made, or wrote and being played for us. It's songs we can all create and she can sing them for us. ^_^ this is why i love the songs she sings, and her and the rest of the vocaloids aswell. Shame my friends hate her because shes not real... where she clearly exists, which makes her real, right? :D
As a Mikufan, a part of a huge Vocaloidfan, I personally think that they definitely should review others as well. They should also be given opportunities to shine as well.
Yuzuki-Tan there is a Rin-Len only producer here, and two other producers are dead, but they're still/they still were Vocaloid producers either way. Lamaze-P, 40M-P. Samfree, Mitchie M, Pinnochio-P, Hitoshizuku-P, OSTER Project, Honeyworks, PowaPowa-P, DECO*27 The only way that I used Google was to ensure that I spelled the names right.
She's their flagship product, meant to appeal to the most people. I personally think Luka's voice fits almost EVERYTHING better. Luka's awesome on English Top 40 pop, as good as the most Melodyne'd pop star in my mind(with a good composer... not any random kids BS on youtube). Still, I think at this point they're sure to put the most into making sure Miku sounds as good as possible in future updates, she's making 'em a killing!
It's worth noting that they had a week of daily one-hour episodes about cool Japanese tech - covering dozens and dozens of stories. The one story they saved for the very end to close off with, was Miku. You always save your best for last.
At first I didn't even know that Hatsune Miku even existed bit went I jst discovered her I completely fell n love with everything about her, she actually has a very beautiful voice that just can easily compered to others nd she also has a very different style that is completely different. Her singing is not like an other singing that I have ever herd n MI entire life b4, and I honestly see as my idol... Go Hatsune Miku ... ;) 3
I understood. Yes,your thinking is right. "詠みます (yomi-masu)" is a special word for "writing" (and chanting) traditional Japanese poem "WAKA" and "HAIKU" , but "読みます (yomi-masu)" means "read". So "write (a song) " translates to "(歌を) 書きます (kaki-masu)" is better.
OK updated thanks. And I think at 1:00 Tara is saying "Anyone can *write* a Miku song, So I'm glad you spotted that because I actually wanted to translate this with 詠みます and not 読みます I should have checked my damn IME better. I think 詠む is better than 書く here, do you think it is OK ?
the stars at night couldn't make us feel safe enough, so we made a lightbulb! that lightbulb is the first vocaloid... (one quick google search later) leon and lola virtual soul artist.
Thanks. Based on your correct sentence, I change my translation 1:18 a bit. "やミック・ジャガーやレディ・ガガ、その他にも皆さんが好きなスター達とはちがって、ここでは皆が自分なりの方法で彼女の制作活動の一部に参加することができるのです。” -> "ミック・ジャガーやレディ・ガガ、その他にも皆さんが心から愛するスター達とちがって、ここでは皆が自分なりの方法で彼女の制作活動の一部に参加することができるのです。" Now, I watched whole video with the caption. The synchronization of speech and caption is perfect. Great Job! And one question. You correct 1:00 caption from "好きなのです" to "読みます". Did she speak "read"? I listened it as "like".
Vocaloid is easily the best musical thing that has happened to this world. Bringing joy and happiness to all, along with sorry and grief for those sadder songs. They always have the perfect vocals, cutest clothes, and most appealing looks. Unlike what I've been noticing here in America about music, we most always sing about sex and drugs, constantly singing about the world negatively, and for that small percentage of artists here in America who don't always sing about anything negative, their songs always seem to be in the range of pop, techno, or dubstep. The bands that we have here that are rock, metal, or country never seem to be popular among younger audiences, as to where Vocaloids consist of characters ranging from age 14 to age 24. I don't know about any of you fellow Vocaloid fans reading this, but I can't really find any song that is official by any Vocaloid that is about sex or drugs. I've only heard 2 songs about sex, and they aren't that bad. Unlike us, they don't take it too descriptively, the only way to tell it's about sex is if you look it up on a wiki page and read about the background story. I think the most inappropriate Vocaloid song that I've ever heard would be "What? Ah, Yes" by Miku Hatsune. I didn't know it was about sex until I read about it on the wiki page, that just proves that if Vocaloid does have a song about sex that it's hard to even tell that that's what it's about. I get nothing but happiness and motivation from Vocaloid songs, listening to my favorites when I'm sad or angry easily restores me to my happy-go-lucky personality. I don't care about the people who say "Oh Vocaloids are just robots, they aren't real!" because they ARE real, and they ARE way more popular in positive ways around the world than any of our pop stars here.
hey I travel around the world a lot mikus music is in Canada the U S A France she is amazing how far a computer program well this artist can get with help from us miku could be " the number one princess in the whole world " shes a thousand artists rolled into one just like all the other vocaloids go miku
Typical. It's 'WORLD IS MINE" not "THE WORLD IS MINE" And the way they talk about it is like people calling anime cartoons. And for the last time its hat-su-nay me-koo not hat-soon mi-ko
Hatsunami Miko I LOVE YOU! Seriously though why is it that everyone seems to mess up the pronunciation of her name and never in the same way either. DOH!
If she has an English voice bank, her fan base will grow and isn't that what we want? :3 It means more concerts in a variety of countries like hopefully... the UK ;w;
Not being an English native speaker myself I don't always get everything right but what I got from Tara Knight's sentence is "Unlike going to see Mick Jagger or Lady Gaga or some celebrity that you really love"
hat-soon miko you literally watched mikumentary and concert footage and interviews with her name pronounced properly and you still couldn't get it right
Miku is coming to USA for a concert if you go to google and search Hatsune Miku hologram there a site talking about a concert and there a website that take you to a page where you could buy a ticket
Some of the things I hate about this Vocaloids documentary's are that they never tell that Miku was not the first Vocaloid. That she was not even the first Japaneses(MEKIO) Vocaloid. Also that Vocaloid has been around since 2003 and the first singers where in English(LEON and LOLA) , but what ever Miku is a major reason why Vocaloid is still around I guess.
What about the Kagamine twins Len and Rin? Or Sakine Meiko, Kamui Gakupo, Megpoid Gumi, Ai, Shion Kaito, Mayu, Kasane Teto, Akita Neru, Yowane Haku, Lily, and Kaai Yuki??? They're Vocaloids too. -_- Also, if they're "such big fans" why did they pronounce her name wrong?
Akita Neru, Yowane Haku are fanloids, Kasane Teto is a UTAU. Kaito's last name isn't "Shion" because he doesn't have one. Meiko doesn't have a last name either. They decided to do a story on Miku because she is the most popular.
"We're big Hastoon Miko fans"
Dude, spot on pronunciation.
"Hatsoon Miku, the singer that never really was."
Yeah, because there's no Hatsoon Miku. It's HATSUNE MIKU.
She's also a synthesizer- not really a "popstar"
Yeah, always reassuring to see a reporter doing their research to give you confidence in their coverage. 😅
"World is mine" is NOT THE ONLY SONG that she does
Yep.....
Anime girl that was like the most popular song afterall...
also she is not the only cyber (Vocaloid ) Star.
It's not the best song ! STOP USING WORLD IS MINE PLEASE !!!

TheReal Mortem0Deus also, you have to pay for the voicebanks. Most of the time its $100+ usd
"anyone with a computer" and cash to burn lmao
Given that japanese words and names are incredibly easy to pronounce, it's really sad how many 'professionals' can't pronounce them properly.
There should be a drinking game for every time these people mispronounce a vocaloid's name.
Thank you very much for the translation, I put them in caption on the video. Fixed a few words but I'm a begginer so do no hesitate to correct any errors.
She's alive in my heart, and thats all that matters :p
"Hasun Miko" ///TRIGGERED///
Dear Miku,
As you know
We All Love You
Sincerely, Vocaloid Fans♥
shes just a pure legend of music in our time. She helps bring all songs we all over come to life, and that is what makes her great. Its not about just listening to songs that some band made, or wrote and being played for us. It's songs we can all create and she can sing them for us. ^_^

Shame my friends hate her because shes not real... where she clearly exists, which makes her real, right? :D
in a way to say it she exist, only idiots would say she doesnt exist. if she doesnt, then who's singing on stage? XD
As a Mikufan, a part of a huge Vocaloidfan, I personally think that they definitely should review others as well. They should also be given opportunities to shine as well.
oh big fans?
can you name 10 different song producers
Yuzuki-Tan there is a Rin-Len only producer here, and two other producers are dead, but they're still/they still were Vocaloid producers either way. Lamaze-P, 40M-P. Samfree, Mitchie M, Pinnochio-P, Hitoshizuku-P, OSTER Project, Honeyworks, PowaPowa-P, DECO*27
The only way that I used Google was to ensure that I spelled the names right.
There's over 500 producers...
First time I've seen a nice documentry about miku! good job, discovery
MIKU IS REAL!!!!! She lives in our hearts. The hearts of all Miku lovers throughout the world!!!
Ah ! Thank you very much. I was really struggling to put a name on the face of this "fan" knowing perfectly that he was a composer...
She's their flagship product, meant to appeal to the most people. I personally think Luka's voice fits almost EVERYTHING better. Luka's awesome on English Top 40 pop, as good as the most Melodyne'd pop star in my mind(with a good composer... not any random kids BS on youtube). For french people like me
They are both huge Hatsune Miko fans...just proves they aren't. >_<
I also like how the reporter read it like in English: "Hatsun." haha.
Haha! Was about to comment that same thing XD
.....it's pronounced 'hah-tsu-nay me-kuu' not Ha-t-soon mi-ko
did that guy just say "hatsun?
Other than mispronoucing her name three different ways - it's still the best treatment of Miku that I've seen on TV. They focused on the right things.
Thank you for sharing. I think this documentary has good explanation.
they couldn't even say her name right
It's worth noting that they had a week of daily one-hour episodes about cool Japanese tech - covering dozens and dozens of stories. The one story they saved for the very end to close off with, was Miku. You always save your best for last.
"At soon Miku"
I'm proud to say that i am a fan an a Composer ^_^
At first I didn't even know that Hatsune Miku even existed bit went I jst discovered her I completely fell n love with everything about her, she actually has a very beautiful voice that just can easily compered to others nd she also has a very different style that is completely different. Her singing is not like an other singing that I have ever herd n MI entire life b4, and I honestly see as my idol...
Go Hatsune Miku ... ;) 3
Thanks for the insightful explanations. I have now corrected.
I watched this on the air date. Everyone loves Miku.
-AnimeFreak1540
Why was he so intense when he said mikus zodiac sign
Me fighting the urge to type "voice"
★★★Fabulous and wonderful this short documentary! Congratulations!!!★★★
★★★ =^.^= ★★★
She live in all of our heart
I love you Miku
I understood.
Yes,your thinking is right.
"詠みます (yomi-masu)" is a special word for "writing" (and chanting) traditional Japanese poem "WAKA" and "HAIKU" ,
but "読みます (yomi-masu)" means "read".
So "write (a song) " translates to "(歌を) 書きます (kaki-masu)" is better.
Native English speaker, here. You're 100% correct about that sentence. :)
Miku I Love you♥♥♥♥♥
She is real in my heart :)
HATSOON MIKO
OOF THAT HURTS
OK updated thanks.
And I think at 1:00 Tara is saying "Anyone can *write* a Miku song, So I'm glad you spotted that because I actually wanted to translate this with 詠みます and not 読みます I should have checked my damn IME better. I think 詠む is better than 書く here, do you think it is OK ?
"We're both huge Hatsune Miko fans"
Why do they always use World is Mine?
the stars at night couldn't make us feel safe enough, so we made a lightbulb! that lightbulb is the first vocaloid...
(one quick google search later)
leon and lola virtual soul artist.
It's really a good documentary of Miku
HATSOON MIKU *facepalms*
Thanks. Based on your correct sentence, I change my translation 1:18 a bit.
"やミック・ジャガーやレディ・ガガ、その他にも皆さんが好きなスター達とはちがって、ここでは皆が自分なりの方法で彼女の制作活動の一部に参加することができるのです。”
->
"ミック・ジャガーやレディ・ガガ、その他にも皆さんが心から愛するスター達とちがって、ここでは皆が自分なりの方法で彼女の制作活動の一部に参加することができるのです。"
Now, I watched whole video with the caption. The synchronization of speech and caption is perfect. Great Job!
And one question. You correct 1:00 caption from "好きなのです" to "読みます".
Did she speak "read"? I listened it as "like".
I remember this episode
At 4:17
Did you guys see that? Said the english version will be released this year!!!
All I said is that not all Vocaloid fans like Miku as a response to "We all love you Sincerely Vocaloid fans
What about all the other vocaloids?:(
Same I was like MIKU is not the only one
well... she is the one who got famous internationally first...
"She's so amazing and diverse!" Only uses one Vocaloid song for footage/soundtrack, everything else is just fanart and interviews.
i find this very awesome

And the way they talk about it is like people calling anime cartoons.

Actually, 'World is Mine' is the direct translation into English. But the official English title is 'The World is Mine'.
+Kman108 lol
Anime is cartoons, Anime is just Japanese cartoons! ^~^
Hatsunami Miko I LOVE YOU!
Seriously though why is it that everyone seems to mess up the pronunciation of her name and never in the same way either. DOH!
冒頭のミクの絵、秋葉のソフマップの所かな?
I FRICKEN LOVE MIKU
"they come to see if their own creations make it onstage" mhm sir have you heard of a setlist??
If she has an English voice bank, her fan base will grow and isn't that what we want? :3 It means more concerts in a variety of countries like hopefully... the UK ;w;
miku is awesome
Yea.... she is xtremely... great, that born to the world,
Tell Your World~
Not being an English native speaker myself I don't always get everything right but what I got from Tara Knight's sentence is "Unlike going to see Mick Jagger or Lady Gaga or some celebrity that you really love"
nopenope
it means her english voicebank is being made
"unlike all the others" rin, len, kaito, gakupo, gumi etc so many more just like miku
(if someone else has commented this idc)
hat-soon miko
you literally watched mikumentary and concert footage and interviews with her name pronounced properly and you still couldn't get it right
I feel like she a angel
Miku is coming to USA for a concert if you go to google and search Hatsune Miku hologram there a site talking about a concert and there a website that take you to a page where you could buy a ticket
I searched, but did not find anything about an upcoming US concert. D:
well there is a concert in Japan 2014 of Hatsune Miku and the rest of the vocaloids i think for more information visit www.piapro.net
And the sad thing is, there are people interviewed that say it right. You'd think someone would question it. XD
everyone on earth should know about her :)
Omg I’m a Canadian, and I just hate how they pronounce her name wrong!!!
創作のことにつてしっかり触れてるね。
日本の民放のドキュメンタリーに比べると、海外のはシンプルで且つ、しっかりまとまってていいね!
When is Miku COMING TO THE USA!!!!♥
Already have!! In LA!!
Yeah i looked it up and found out but that was when i didn't even know who she was
She just performed last month
Some of the things I hate about this Vocaloids documentary's are that they never tell that Miku was not the first Vocaloid. That she was not even the first Japaneses(MEKIO) Vocaloid. i love miku
Miku's fan's are OVER THE WORLD!!!! :D :)
"Hatsoon Miku"
Holy shit I lost it. This is worse than Scott from Domino's Pizza.
craziest business plan ever. you gotta give it up to the creator Hiroyuki Itoh. swimming in cash baby.
je suis francai et je suis une grande fan de miku hatsune
Because he's saying it on his language. Take it easy...
:O THAT MEANS SHE MIGHT COME TO AMERICA SOON! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for the moment.....I WANNA SEE A CONCERT SOMEDAY!

What about the Kagamine twins Len and Rin? Or Sakine Meiko, Kamui Gakupo, Megpoid Gumi, Ai, Shion Kaito, Mayu, Kasane Teto, Akita Neru, Yowane Haku, Lily, and Kaai Yuki??? They're Vocaloids too. -_-

It's Momiji from Touhou.
