@39:22 where he gets interrupted again for like the 12th time. You can hear Richard's voice fade away like, oh I guess I'm getting interrupted again, lol.
Richard is humble. He impacted the music and event production and promotions scene in L.A. since the house party days in Highland Park and the famous dances at Franklin High School, they were legendary. I remember picking up his CDs at the record store across the street from the Highland Theater. I still have several of his CDs and a rare cassette. Good times!
I still call him Richard Humpty Vission...Every time he came on the radio after 12 am I pictured in my mind that initial look of him carring the deck on "Dj Drop that beat"... I was like sheeet is about to blow up!!
I went to the Dome at Florentine Gardens in 2021 and I bought the BornxRaised shirt. Badass experience. Now I know what my brother was talking about when he use to go back then. Wow.
On January 11, 1986 at 6 p.m., KMGG dropped its adult contemporary format and became the first-ever rhythmic contemporary-formatted radio station with new call sign KPWR and branding "Power 106" 20,000 Watts of music power!!
Will never forget running into Richard and his wife in Miami at WMC around 2008-ish and chatted for over an hour. What an absolute legend man. He was so humble and engaging, it is honestly one of the most amazing memories I will hold on to forever. Long live humpty!
I wish he would have talked about the speedy k drift what happened they were so close ive heard so many different stories. RHV will always be legendary in L.A. best Dj around till this day in my opinion.
I met Richard at Florentine gardens and on the weekends they called it The Dome!! It was the most amazing time in my life!! love the music and the DJ that Introduced me and my friends to house music! We also got to meet Bad Boy Bill! One of the best djs in Chicago and them together was the most FN amazing djs to play on 4 turn tables at the same time. Much respect to Richard Vission. If it wasn't for him and Bad Boy Bill I wouldn't have had the courage and inspiration to start Dj'ing.
