  • Observability is a measure of how well internal states of a system can be inferred from knowledge of its external outputs. In K8s the basic facilities of a platform control system can help you determine certain states (readiness, healthiness) of your workloads and act on collected data to reach workload’s desired declared state, however they are very limited and narrowly focussed. In order to achieve a higher level of deterministic & declarative state control and management for 5G, we need higher volume, variety and velocity of 5G workload data representing the consumers with their trends, feeding into a better analytical engine that can estimate/derive different state characteristics of the 5g and underlying platform. In this talk we will walk through the observability patterns required to maintain healthy and secure 5G Core (5GC), one of the central applications to offer 5G services, and how to apply this example to other applications for continuous success of service providers.
