THIS STORY:
At 11:30 p.m., two young girls who lived in a small duplex heard people fighting inside an adjoining apartment. The girls knew the couple next door, a 23-year-old man named Willard Colwell and his fiancee, Rosemary Peterson, also 23. Willard’s car wasn’t there, but Rosemary’s was parked in her usual spot.
The yelling continued,
The girls knocked on the couple’s door and called out to Rosemary. They first heard a man shout that they “just had a fight.” Rosemary then screamed for help.
When they finally went inside, they were met with one of the bloodiest crime scenes ever investigated in Rockford.

My heart is breaking for these women and their families! Their parents are at peace now because they are with their beloved daughter now for eternity. I feel like if enough of us put in letters to the mayor, we can help find the person who murdered Rose. Her family deserves closer. I wish there was more I could do.
Ladies I fully understand how ou feel. My great aunt was beate and pulled out of bed and left to cook on the floor furnace and nothing has ever been done! This was in the 70's. Another great aunt, on the other side of the family, disappeared in the late 60's without a trace. Remembering them haunts me! Best of luck that someone will step forward or be found using DNA. i know that this is from a long time ago, however i looked somewhat into the case, and figure it was someone who worked with her. she knew the man enough to trust him inside the house when she was alone at night and a myth started at the beginning of the case suggested "she may have happened upon something unsavory at the plant (that she worked at) and was silenced for what she knew" which would make sense
I hope there will be answers and true justice some day soon.
While I am in Germany and not even close to there, I will still compose an email.
If nothing else they'll see that this case does still matter - even outside of the US people care.
a person lost their life in a brutal way it’s not messy that is shameful a family loved her the way they talked about her so nice i can’t even imagine their grief,pain what a great honour she served for our country yet no one is helping catch this monster my heart goes out to them you are so kind to remember those who no longer have a voice another great video

Thank you for everything you do to help these people and their families, Ron, getting their stories out to a wider audience and hopefully helping to solve murder cases such a Rosemary's. No family members, let alone someone's parents, should have to go to their own graves not knowing what happened to their daughter, sister, aunt, friend, granddaughter.

if there is DNA this case will be solved. The technology has like tripled in the last 2 years and cases with DNA that couldn't be read are now being read and the monsters are put away behind bars. Honestly a private detective needs to be put on this and force the Rockford government to push the DNA being tested again. This case will be solved, its just super important that it has to be soon before the monster passes away and doesn't face justice.

You can count on me! I will definitely write to the mayor's office and the police department. I can't even imagine how this family has suffered with no resolution and accountability for the taking of this innocent girls life. It should not be this way, especially since they have DNA that could solve this crime in just a short matter of time. Is there a place to donate to a fund that would go towards the DNA testing that's needed in Rose's case because I would do that too. This family needs justice for Rose. They've waited much to long already.

Sounds to me like someone "knows" something, and they don't want to get involved. And why is it so expensive to get justice? What, those that can't afford it, never get it? Yes, the time is now.

This young woman deserves justice. I’m hoping authorities kept forensic evidence that will lead to answers. Never a happy ending but the family can begin to heal with a conviction of the guilty party.

It was good to hear Rose's beloved sisters speak about what a great person she was. I'm so sorry for their loss. It must make these ladies so exasperated that the investigation has stalled. If enough of us write and ask for action maybe we can push it to happen!!!!
In my opinion the police department needs to volunteer for their time off to try and get this case solved for these two wonderful sister's that got robbed of their sister finish growing up.
In most of these cases, especially the ones you watch on ID or Dateline - we have detectives to take a personal interest and themselves become obsessed with the case. Doesn’t sound like we have that in Rockford. Sadly.
